Chapter 1812: Hunting Tier 3 Monsters

RUMBLE!

Meanwhile, Elayne’s battle against the Tier 3 Bone Beast raged on. Mark swung his blazing sword, severing its multiple tails, then tried to leap onto its back using his fiery wings. The beast sensed him instantly and lashed out with its massive arms, hurling him to the ground.

At the same moment, Norman charged forward, seizing one of the monster’s legs and heaving it upward. The creature lost its balance and crashed down. Norman hammered its stomach armor with bony fists until cracks spiderwebbed across the plates—only for a single claw swipe to send him flying.

Mark rose again, pushing his flames to their absolute limit. He burst forward, reached the monster, and smashed its head with his blazing sword, forcing it down once more.

Elayne leaped, using Mark as a springboard to reach the creature’s head with Asteria in hand. She poured Life and Death Essence into the blade, making it gleam with radiant starlight.

She extended the brilliant starlight across her entire body, briefly resembling a goddess of the cosmos.

Then she fused it with her swordsmanship.

“Heroic Legendary Sword Arts – Exorcizing Holy Blade!”

Drawing on Asteria’s inner soul starlight and her own soul trait’s sunlight, Elayne unleashed a devastating holy sword strike straight into the monster’s head.

BOOOM!

An explosion of holy light and flames erupted. The creature screamed in agony, staggering as it shook its heads. Deep wounds gaped through its skull and bony armor.

“Hah, tough…!”

Elayne gave a bitter smile as the beast roared. Its three heads unleashed a phantom flame breath attack. She swung Asteria forward without hesitation.

“Heroic Legendary Sword Arts – Celestial Slash!”

Starlight and sunlight merged, compressed, and burned through the Life Essence she had stolen from the beast. The holiness sliced the phantom flames cleanly in two!

SLAAASH!

A powerful wave of bright golden light struck the central head, obliterating it and hurling the monster backward. It crashed into the wall and collapsed to the ground.

CRASH!

“GRRRRR!”

The creature was resilient. It rose immediately, channeling its Nether Essence to the extreme. Its bones darkened to pitch black as it prepared one final surge of power.

“God damn it, is every monster in this place capable of crazy shit like this?!” Sailor shouted.

“Netherworld monsters are naturally gifted with many abilities. Tier 3 ones are kings among beasts—they’ve reached Level 300 and beyond. Never underestimate them!” Granny Yaga warned. She opened her grimoire and conjured buffing spells. “Nether Ghost Armor!”

Ghostly Nether armor materialized over everyone’s bodies, shielding them from harm while boosting their Nether Regeneration and Manipulation.

“Now go! Slay that thing—it’ll help you level up fast!” she urged. “Go!”

“Yes!”

Elayne stood beside Mark. Their auras surged and intertwined. They charged forward together, roaring with unyielding determination.

The Bone Beast answered with its own roar. Its two remaining heads gathered energy and fired beams of Nether and phantasmal flames, devastating the surroundings and shaking the entire cave.

BOOOM! BOOOM! BOOOM! BOOOM!

Elayne and Mark moved as one, dancing through the chaos. They smiled at each other, locking eyes in moments of perfect understanding. Sometimes they clasped hands to steady one another or pushed the other aside to evade deadly strikes.

Blank and Chalk watched in stunned silence, awed by how brilliantly the pair fought together.

“RAAAAAAHHH!”

Frustration boiled in the Bone Beast. It could not touch them. Norman and Sailor struck its legs, tripping it again, though its claws sent them flying once more.

Meanwhile, Shade—who had hidden in Elayne’s shadows out of fear—watched everyone battle so fiercely. Inspiration stirred within him.

“I said… I was going to protect… I must fight… in my own way…!”

His eyes glowed bright red within the shadows. Long fingers emerged, weaving a massive cursed rune. He launched it at the Bone Beast as it struggled against the others.

TRUUUM!

“Gryaaaah?!”

The Bone Beast coughed dark blood instantly, its strength draining rapidly. Yet it began to devour the curse—it would not last long.

“Shade! Thank you!”

Elayne and Mark exchanged a nod. They reached the monster’s stomach, infusing their swords with every ounce of power, striking the weakened spot their friends had created.

“Heroic Legendary Sword Arts – Divine Spear!”

Asteria blazed with divine power, transforming into a long spear-like pillar of light that pierced the Bone Beast’s stomach and flooded its interior with radiance.

The Tier 3 Bone Beast endured, still roaring and swinging its claws toward them! Elayne fired her Nether Spirit Totem Nails without hesitation, piercing its arms and halting the strike just long enough for Mark to finish it.

“Spiritual Phoenix Sword Arts – Mountain-Splitting Eruption!”

Mark’s Blazing Soul roared like a rising phoenix of burning gold, red, and phantasmal flames. He channeled it into his sword and unleashed a single, cataclysmic eruption.

“GRUUOOHHH!”

Flames burst from the Bone Beast’s eyes, mouths, and every crack in its body. It exploded into countless fragments, finally defeated.

BOOOMMM!!!

The blast hurled Elayne and Mark backward. They fell, but Mark caught her, shielding her from further harm. His Soul Flames gently healed her wounds.

“Hahaha! We did it, Mark!” Elayne laughed, her voice bright and adorable.

Mark smiled softly and nodded.

“Yeah, we did it!” He pulled her into a tight hug. “Well done, Elayne!”

“No, well done to you too!” She hugged him back fiercely.

As the others cheered and stared, the two suddenly felt self-conscious. They quickly separated and stepped apart, cheeks flushed.

“Congrats! That was amazing…!” Blank exclaimed. “I didn’t think you could do it! You fought a monster three hundred levels above you—two tiers higher! I can’t believe it…”

“You’re all so strong!” Chalk added. “That was incredible, really! Well done!”

“Hahah, thank you,” Elayne chuckled. “I’ve been training hard and cultivating to reach this point… It’s nice to know we can at least take on a— Woah?!”

“Ooohh?!” Mark reacted the same way, equally stunned, as their auras suddenly surged with revitalized power.

Their strength rose dramatically. System messages flooded their vision, urging them to look.

Elayne and Mark both checked, realizing what had happened.
