“That’s a very rare Spirit Core I’ve offered you,” said Khione. “Perhaps the rarest of the bunch. It’s a White Sky Serpent, a powerful Spirit Beast that isn’t bigger than what you’re seeing right now… despite its size, it has incredible speed, its venom can cause hallucinations and paralyze, and its scales can reflect most magic.”
“Really?!” I gasped. “And it’s all for me…”
I was shocked as I saw the serpent infuse itself into my body, its Spiritual Power becoming one with me. All three of these Spirit Cores were absorbed, their colors fading as they turned into tiny pieces, fully drained.
FLUOSH!
I felt a surge of new Spirit Power, the essence of these Beasts now coursing through my body. It felt incredible as they reached the depths of my Spiritual Heart, fusing with it and remaining there. Their presence and essence were so strong they seemed to inhabit it now.
“W-What’s this? It is as if they’re living inside?” I wondered. “Is it similar to Contracted Spirits?”
“No, Spiritual Beasts that are bound to your Spiritual Heart are special beings that grant benefits, effects, or powers,” explained Khione. “Not all of them are generally used for fighting. Some can grant benefits in exchange for being fed with Spiritual Energy or other things every now and then… If you don’t feed them enough, they either enter slumber or assimilate fully and disappear within your Spiritual Heart, but don’t worry, if that happens you shouldn’t feel bad.”

At that moment, I heard the World’s Voice once more, confirming that I had successfully absorbed everything properly and that I now had three little creatures living inside my Spiritual Heart.
Well, is it any different from the Dragon Soul Spirits living inside my Avatar’s Dragon Heart? Or perhaps it is? I can summon those Dragon Souls as powerful Spirits usually, empowering them with my abilities, but this might be a little different.
“Looks like I gained a lot of Spirit Power… is it normal to gain forty thousand?” I asked Khione, who gasped.
“No it’s not normal…!” she muttered desperately. “Usually you can earn only a few hundred… even with the strongest Spirit Cores! I usually don’t absorb that many anymore because I’m so strong but… you can earn so much in comparison?”
“So she’s really strange, huh?” Rita wondered. “What’s up with her? Do you know something, queen?”
“It’s just that her own reserves of Spiritual Energy are so high, combined with her Spiritual Particles… that, well, whenever she gains additional Spirit Power, it will always be a large amount,” Khione said. “I think…”
As they talked, I was curious, bringing forth the power of these strange Spiritual Heart Beasts. Suddenly, all three appeared in the palm of my hand, much smaller than I imagined, no bigger than a newborn kitten.
They also looked younger. The Golden Thunderbolt Lion was a small lion cub without a mane, the Volcanic Slime looked like a little red blob, and the White Sky Serpent was a small white noodle, its wings too little and without feathers.
“So these are the Spiritual Heart Beasts, huh? I saw they had Ranks? It said they were Spiritual Larva Rank,” I said. “Do you know of higher Ranks?”
“Spiritual Heart Beasts have three major stages that are known…” Khione said, bringing forth a large book she started reading and flipping through its pages. “There’s the Stage Zero, which is them as eggs, but you got them as Larva already, so you skipped it.”
“Oh, usually you get an egg then?” I wondered.
“Yes, all of you here, if you were talented enough, you may find an egg inside your Spiritual Heart. Keep it well and safe, and it might hatch,” Khione explained as everyone checked.
It turned out everyone had an egg, without exception! Absorbing these powerful Spirit Cores was really the right call, as absorbing smaller ones wouldn’t have given as much power or the opportunity to get a Spiritual Heart Beast at all.
“You all have a Spiritual Heart Beast Egg?! That’s incredible… you’re all so very talented… but I suppose that Elayne takes the prize as being the most I’ve ever seen,” Khione sighed. “Anyway, the Spiritual Larva Rank is the first and weakest form. If you can feed them enough Spiritual Energy and Resources compatible with them, they can eventually evolve into Spiritual Beast Adult Rank. In this stage, their powers fully mature, and they can unleash special abilities, effects, spells, or even temporarily summon themselves to assist you in battle, either through their whole form or as extensions of your own body.”
“Interesting… I never knew of any of these systems to grow stronger. Spiritual Beings really have it easy, huh?” I wondered, giggling a little.
“Hey, it’s not like many of us got those. They’re a hassle to take care of,” Katherine said. “I once tried raising an Owl Bear Spiritual Heart Beast, but it was so tiring that I ended up neglecting it, and then it just disappeared… They do give a lot of power though. I suppose those who more actively fight, and hunt could keep them well fed, but I just decided to polish my Magic instead.”
