I heard the voice within my mind, and I could already tell it worked wonderfully! Whitey was still Tier 1 too?! Wow he sure was weak… I guess Rita was either not making sure to keep him strong, or perhaps he was truly incapable of growing further because… he was just a little mouse.
Well, no longer! He has become a mighty, giant mouse, that can work as our ride as well, and he looked just as cute as before too.
And about the notifications… Well, that’s indeed something new. Illumination was an Ability Whitey used to shine brightly, and I think imbue light into objects? Or something.
However, it suddenly evolved into “Sacred Enlightenment”, and I am beginning to think it has no relation with just the previous “Illumination” anymore, not at all.
If anything, it does feel rather strange, what could this ability do? It didn’t feel like it changed me in any way for the moment.
Oh well, I’ll see what it can do later anyway.
More importantly, Rita was pretty happy.
“Whitey! You’ve become freaking huge! What the hell?! And you’re still a damn rat!”
“Chuuu!”
Whitey was slightly angry at her that she kept calling him a rat when he was a refined mouse, but well, beggars can’t be choosers.
“He has gained a lot of new abilities now,” I said, creating a wooden tablet with his information. “So you should check this tablet to see what he can do now.”
“Ooh? Interesting…!” Rita nodded. “Wait, before evolving you only had two abilities?! Light Manipulation and Illumination, no wonder you were so weak! Oh well, now you’re four tiers higher I hope you can carry your own weight lil’ guy… or should I say big guy? Wait, can he get smaller now?”
“I don’t know, but they usually can transform back to their original forms,” I explained. “Whitey, can you try?” I caressed his little pink colored snout, and he nodded.
FLUOSH!
Suddenly, he turned smaller, appearing over my hand, he was the same size as before evolving, incredible! I think among all the Divine Beasts he’s the one that can change sizes the most drastically.
“Yup, looks like he can shrink as he pleases!” I said with a nod. “There you go.”
I gave him back to Rita, as Whitey quickly turned giant over her body, jumping over her.
“Ouch! Hey, get off me! Whiteyyyy!”
“Chuuu!”
Whitey seemed angry, using his body weight to crush his owner… Well, Rita was pretty tough by now, so not exactly crushed, but she wasn’t enjoying it either.
CRAAASH!
And then, I heard Lily’s pickaxe break through the stone and the crystals, as she was able to mine a large quantity of good materials. We walked to her side, as she offered them to Anna.
“Elayne, Anna, can you check these?” Lily asked. “I don’t know if they’re good enough for the familiar fusions…”
We walked to her side with my daughter and Anna, as we checked the items carefully, there was a green crystal with windy shape, a large black piece of cubic-shaped steel, and what seemed to be another piece of steel of golden color, shaped like a bunch of merged pyramids, oh, and Lily had dug something from the lake as well, a droplet-shaped stone.
“Are these the ones you needed?” Elena asked.
“Ooh? I think this is enough for some of them yeah,” Anna said. “This Green Stone is…”
“I’ve checked them and yes, they do align with what you asked,” I said. “The green stone is an Emerald Wind Core Stone, for your Green Wolf, the black piece of steel is Abyssal Shadow Mithril, for your Shadow Crow, the golden pyramid-shaped steel is… Holy Dune Stone, for your Holy Scarab, I believe… and the last one is the Spiritual Sea Stone, for your Sea Serpent! Yup, we’re now only missing the Super Mithril Alloy and the Fiery Blazing Stone of Perpetual Flames,” I said with a smile.
“So nice! With this I can evolve more than half of them except two!” Anna was excited. “Thanks a lot Lily!”
“Ah don’t worry,” Lily said. “Elayne can you store the rest of these ores? There’s a lot more. Tierra was very excited, and she has some sort of special ability that helps her dig Divine Materials! So these are all excellent to further reforge and upgrade our gear later,” Lily said with a confident smile, resting her hand over Tierra’s handle while she rested the weapon over the floor, she was sweating a lot and was gasping for air, slightly red, probably exhausted. However she looked like she really enjoyed it for some reason. I suppose this is one of her new passions or something? Well, good for her.
“We came here to fetch for materials anyway, so this is perfect,” I said, nodding. “Let me store them then.” I opened a portal to my Inventory and quickly stored everything easily.
“Alright, are we done here then? Shall we continue our little adventure? I think we should mine whenever we find something new,” I said. “Right?”
“Yeah! I believe I can detect things to an extent,” said Lily, looking around. “But I think we’ve gotten the best materials already in this layer so far… Though, perhaps these mushrooms could be good materials, they contain a lot of Mana and Elemental Energy, not for eating though, but maybe for potions and elixirs, or things similar to those.”
“Hmm, not wrong,” I nodded, as I quickly used Irene to dig a few giant mushrooms out and then store them inside my inventory one by one. “Alright, everyone! Let’s go!”
Gabriel and Katherine were already distracted by having their own fun, but I quickly called them back, and once I made sure our party was fully assembled, we continued moving.
I asked Anna about evolving her familiars, which were protecting her right now, but she said that the process was somewhat slow and took a few hours, so she preferred to get it done once we walked out of here, which was fair.
It didn’t take long though, for us to finally find something that didn’t wanted us to keep going…
