Brand New Life Online: Rise Of The Goddess Of Harvest

Chapter 1567 - 1567: What Is Real And What Isn't Anymore?

Seeing Elayne covered by tiny Dream Spirits, Katherine was amazed.

“Oh, these must be Dream Spirits born from the Dreams of Avalon’s inhabitants…!” Katherine said.

“Y-Yeah? You think so?” Elayne wondered. “Though they also feel different… So Dream Spirits are born from the Dreams of Spirits? I guess that sounds quite right… but it still weird.”

“Most of the time, yes,” nodded Katherine. “This island must be a focal point for the creation of such Spirits, which maintain the entire Realm together and without being completely distorted by the Nightmare Power.”

“It’s a rather beautiful place but… Ugh! P-Please let me go! What do you want from me?” Elayne cried, quickly kneeling down to caress all the cute spirits. They were very tiny and adorable. “You’re all so cute! I wonder if you could help us get to Avalon?”

“Buuuh?”

“Geegeehh!”

“Kyuwaah!”

However, they tilted their heads, completely confused and with no idea at all about what Elayne was even trying to say.

“I-I guess you don’t really know, huh?” Elayne muttered. “Katherine, about that…”

“Yes, I can assist you,” Katherine nodded. “We can try out two methods I’ve thought about. One is by letting me sleep and using your Dream Magic to find a way to create a portal to Avalon through my dreams. It might or might not be possible…”

“Uh-huh, and the second option?” Elayne asked. “I didn’t even know we had one.”

“Well, the second option would be about… Going towards that tree in the distance,” Said Katherine. “I believe that’s a special tree, born from the Dreams of the Spirit Tree that exists within Avalon. Some sort of connected “Dream Soul” of it… Similar to how these Dream Spirits are still technically connected to their originals, and are also a “Secondary, Fake Soul” of sorts.”

“So that Tree is… part of the Spirit Tree of Avalon? Wait, is it some sort of Yggdrasil?” Wondered Elayne.

“Yggdrasil? The Mythical Divine Cosmic Tree that holds the Nine Realms? Avalon is a Realm of its own, separate from them, so I wouldn’t say for sure…” Said Katherine. “Even among spirits, the existence of Yggdrasil by itself is… usually just a speculation, a myth of sorts. The other Nine Realms are also mostly known by words. Nobody I know has ever stepped there… well, most have said that the Fairy King Oberon is the Son of Freyr… One of the greatest Vanir Gods that exists within Vanaheim, one of those nine Realms we know very little about… we don’t even know if it even exists.”

“H-Huh… I see… So I suppose the Yggdrasil from here is different than the one from the other world… Also these Nine Realms and this Yggdrasil that is just the same as Mythology anybody can research online is somehow not real? Even though there’s literal gods out there…” Elayne said, rubbing her chin.

“Yes, I’m afraid that’s all I know, master…” Nodded Katherine. “I did enjoy reading a lot, but I was never like, a librarian of sorts…”

“That’s alright, Katherine, don’t worry. I suppose it only shares names. The Yggdrasil from this other world whose powers I’ve inherited is actually the evolved form of the Yggdragon upon fighting the Demon Kings and sealing them with his own body… Hmm.”

“I-I see… I have heard very little about this other world, but that’s where the majority of your powers originate, right master?” Katherine wondered, as Elayne played around with the Dream Spirits.

“Yes…” Elayne said. “So, let’s go back to the main topic, we can talk about this other world in another time, it’s not really important right now. About that tree, do you know what it could be called?”

“I suppose a fine name would be Divine Dream Spirit Tree,” explained Katherine. “The Divine Spirit Tree from Avalon is a gigantic tree that provides with spiritual energy and spirits to the entire Realm. I don’t know where it originated from, but that’s where I was born. There are rumors that connect with what I said earlier, they say that King Oberon brought a Special Seed from his home, as the son of Freyr, and was allowed to create his own Realm using the Divine Spirit Tree as the pillar.”

“Y-You can create a whole Realm with a Divine Spirit Tree Seed?!” Elayne gasped. “That’s one mighty powerful seed then!”

“I-It’s not like that, I mean… It’s just all mere speculation, master,” Katherine said. “We love speculating. King Oberon can be rather secretive about his past, and he usually doesn’t like talking about his childhood or anything of the sort… We only know he is our king and also a father figure to all Fae, Fairy, and Spirits that live inside of Avalon.”

“A father figure you say…” Giggled Elayne. “And despite that he likes flirting with girls like a young man? Yep, he’s definitely “young” as a god, or he wouldn’t be so frugal about life! Hahah…”

“Hahaha! I guess so? Maybe he is indeed Freyr’s son! That would be so amazing… but I suppose we might never really find out, it is not our duty to pry on other people’s past, even less on King Oberon, who has done nothing but good things for all of us,” Katherine smiled. “Despite his personality, he is a great king, and someone I deeply respect and admire.”

“Aw, now you’re making me feel bad about wanting you all for myself…” Elayne sighed.

“A-Ah! Please don’t mind my words, I was just saying,” Katherine shrugged. “Either way, King Oberon was known in the past to wander Lakes. With the help of the Lady of the Lake, his sister, a Water Fairy, he would travel to lakes in Europe and charm beautiful maidens, he preferred humans than fairies.”

“E-Eh?” Elayne was shocked. “H-He did such things?”

“Yes, not always would his charm work, so he would usually come back weeping that a fair maiden had rejected him for being too flirty and lacking manners…” giggled Katherine. “He could be so innocent sometimes… despite being like that, he never assaulted or tried to take advantage of ladies, he is a very respectful person towards women! A true gentleman!”
