Chapter 1073: A Deadly Plot
—–
The existence of Planta was becoming more and more of an issue for these three parties, and they had to quickly vanquish her before they could ever accomplish any of their malefic plans.
But to the demons, it wasn’t just Planta alone. No, she had many allies, most of them very powerful as well!
“I can sense it; I can sniff it. Yggdrasil, Verdant… the Druids and the Spirits! Ugh! Their disgusting odor of life and nature… Who else than them would have plotted this?!” the black cloaked man’s cloak was thrown away, revealing a red-skinned, lanky demonic entity. “We must tear her to shreds and all her allies and friends! Send them to her!
She appears every day, she will “log-in” soon! Kill her once she appears!”
“Calm yourself, demon,” the Lich said. “Merlinus, what is your opinion?”
“Hmph, so be it. Let us take care of the trash…” he smiled. “I’ve heard that there’s a competition, yes? One where many artifact crafters will appear. She will definitely go, based in her inheritance of that ancient blacksmith god… In that moment of vulnerability where she will be working to help her blacksmith friend… We could take that opportunity.”
“Do you understand that this could escalate into a full-on war, human?” the Lich asked. “Would you take responsibility for your actions? The armies of the Underworld are never-ending, as long as death is a law, then we exist forevermore. However… their assistance does not come for free.”
“State what your weeping king wants then, pile of bones,” the wizard asked with a smirk.
“I would rather prefer you not to call him in such a way when you’ve been helped so many times by him. Your ascension by itself wouldn’t even be a possibility without his aid,” sighed the Lich.
“Right, I apologize for my rudeness, my dear friend,” laughed the magician. “Tell me now.”
“What else than the souls and bodies of those that die? As many as we can get. If war is what we will do, my lord asks for souls and corpses. Hundreds won’t do, he needs hundreds of thousands. The more the better,” the Lich said. “The Domain of Death must expand as vastly as possible and towards every direction, life must perish, and death must be eternal.”
“Very well, you may have them all, I don’t care either way…” the wizard said. “Demon, as the representative of your King, what does he desires?”
“Resurrection and her death! Nothing less, nothing more!” said the Demon. “The contracts you’ve made with us, they’re all for the sole purpose of accomplishing this goal, I hope you have not forgotten it, false king.”
“I might become a true king sooner than you expect,” said the wizard. “Then it is decided…”
His sharp crimson eyes glared at a blue orb in front of him, which then turned as red as his eyes, glowing with demonic energy.
Quickly, he used the orb’s powers clairvoyance, to look at the distance, above a large arena most of the time used for fights between Players, which are considered “safe” as they can revive.
Fights to the death between inhabitants is forbidden in the Kingdom, but the fights between players can be equally as bloody and realistic, the thing is, they revive after death, so it was approved by the King.
However, this arena often used for battle and bloodshed had changed, it was now full of many crafters and alchemists, preparing their tools and ingredients for the competition that the King himself would hold.
“A war… Would be too much for now though, but yes, I wouldn’t mind using your forces to… shake things up a bit, and hopefully kill her,” the wizard smiled.
“But she’s a Player, how do you exactly hope to kill her?” wondered one of the magicians in the scene.
The three monsters glared back at the human, who quickly fell silent.
“We have our ways, Players should be theoretically possible to kill as long as we shatter their souls,” said the Lich. “It has not been tested yet but there is information about the King of Miasma using this to almost kill one… The woman saved him though. So, it is completely possible for this to be done.”
“Fascinating,” the wizard smiled. “This means that the Players, who believe are immortal and unkillable, and who call this world nothing but a game, can be killed in masse with a proper soul-destroying spell?”
“Proper you ask? There is no such thing as a spell that could mass-destroy souls, the art of shattering a soul by itself is complex and an art that only those closest to death can achieve!” the Lich protested. “Or… do you mean you have something below your sleeve, scheming arcanist?”
“I do… I might… maybe… we’ll see, it’s all a “perhaps” for now, there are nothing confirmed yet. We must observe, and only act minimally, see what they do, learn from them… And once we’re completely sure. We destroy them all.”
Despite his power, the wizard was wise, he would not charge recklessly. He would use every pawn at his disposal to see and test his foes, to make sure he learns everything about them beforehand.
Only then will he gain enough confidence to know he will succeed.

Inside of his smithy, Ambil was preparing the last things to depart. It was already past 1 PM, and the contest would officially begin at 2:30 PM, with only one hour and a half to begin. He was already very nervous.
“Where is Planta at? I need to set things up over there! It’ll take roughly an hour to get my things ready, we must depart immediately, or I won’t be able to properly start the competition…” he sighed, cleaning the sweat from his forehead. “Well, at least I’m plenty strong now.”
He had been clearly noticing how strong he had grown, finding out how easy it was to lift things now than ever before, and how tough he had become. Even more, his magic had become potent, and his mana reserves greater.

“Lady Planta is always late, but we can always help you instead, sir Ambil!” Acorn said, carrying some boxes and placing them inside his inventory.
“That’s right, leave this to us,” Nieve nodded, doing the same.
“Hah, to think I would rely on squirrel-kin and fairies…” sighed the blacksmith.
Knock, knock!
“Hello! Sorry for being late, we’re back!”
“Ah, yer late! Hurry!”
