Chapter 1055: The Truth Of The Magician Tower
—–
I still used my abilities as Player to film everything as much as possible, by starting a livestream and leaving it private, so nobody but my friends here was watching it. They were also livestreaming in private. Once the livestream is over, we can achieve it as a video.
The process of how they made all these amazing items wasn’t well understood by Players at all, even the best craftsmen and alchemists didn’t exactly know how to do these. But with these videos, it might be possible to actually figure out ways to create them.
We can’t let the wizards hold such a big monopoly over these essential items for both players and the NPC’s growth after all! Even more if they have the possibility of being corrupt, if the bad guys hold the means of production, then how are we mean to fight back without resources?
But well, for now, we just played along. Ashhand was happily showing us every single nook and cranny of the tower’s highest floors, which were supposed to be top secret. Tomas didn’t really like it, he felt nervous of even being here, but with the wizard here, the other wizards didn’t say anything anyways.
It was strange though, why was he so relaxed about inviting completely new pupils here? We haven’t even been here for more than a day… It feels like there’s something he’s planning; I better stay at high alert.
I sent some chats to my friends to tell them the same thing.
[Planta]: [It’s a bit suspicious he’s so nice and showing us everywhere so easily… I think he’s planning something. Stay at high alert]
[Titan]: [Yeah, I agree. Let’s not lower our guard.]
[Achlys]: [Pretty obvious the perverted old man got something planned…]
[Lily]: [Wait, he is?!]
Lily seemed a bit clueless, but it couldn’t be helped, she was always like this. Good thing we were with her right now.
[Titan]: [What about Tomas?]
[Achlys]: [He’s a wimp and he looks afraid? I don’t think we can trust him actually…] Discover more content at
[Planta]: [I agree…]
After that, Ashhand continued showing us places, new libraries, other farming areas, and places where they produced magic artifacts and accessories.
There were also large magic factories where golems and all kinds of magic technology tools were made. I don’t know what else he could show us, but from Floor 90 to 95, it was all like this.
Until we reached the gate to Floor 95 and above.
Things became slightly darker, as the floating area was encompassed by a huge black castle, we had to enter it and walk through its dark corridors to go to the rest of the floors, which seemed interconnected with this castle’s rooms.
Things were getting weirder, I immediately sensed something.
Miasma!
There was a strong aura of miasma, and the putrid smell spread around, it wasn’t actually as putrid as real rotten corpses though.
But what I mean is, it is putrid to magicians, something that I couldn’t handle well.
Well, we couldn’t handle it well… everyone immediately made faces of discomfort, me including.
“Ah, you can smell it too? Don’t worry, you will become used to it,” Ashhand laughed merrily. “It is in these floors where we truly breakthrough the limits that we’ve been given by the System. Welcome to the last five floors, where us wizards truly begin to breakthrough into the unknown. What you have sensed was indeed what you think it is, Miasma! Now come, here.”
He led us to another door.
We didn’t know what to do or say, we remained in silence and waited for an opportunity.
Any evidence, anything!
And…
“W-Wha…?!”
It was right in front of us.
The area we accessed resembled a giant laboratory combined with a butchery and a magic factory.
There were countless of bodies and body parts of people hanging around, and being experimented on.
There were large containers with the souls of wailing people too!
And worse than everything, several demonic formations, giant pentagrams where they offered sacrifices to summon demonic beasts.
The demonic beasts were like monsters from hell, and once they summoned them, the wizards would slaughter them and use their bodies as materials.
How is he showing us all of this so easily and freely?!
“W-What is this, master Ashhand?!” I cried in shock, Tomas looked at us in fear, stepping back.
“Why are there… people here?!” Hendrick wondered.
“T-This is… Isn’t this illegal?” wondered Erika.
“Master…” Maria muttered. “I feel confused… what are you showing us? What is the meaning of this?”
“Haha, children, I know you might be surprised, shocked, even… afraid,” the old wizard smiled. “But this is what every magician or wizard strives for, to surpass one’s limits. Because of that, I had to show my pupils what we are truly doing here. We are slowly bringing our kind to a completely new level of transcendence.
By manipulating the bodies of people, which harness a much richer energy and power than monsters, and by using their souls, full of emotions which are the richest, we can summon the powers of the demons and obtain them for our own! Don’t you see? Isn’t this what your families aspired to? To gain unprecedented powers beyond your own talents, even your own lineages?”
He looked at us in utter amusement and insanity, his hands rose, as demonic flames surged from within, his aura changed, from elemental mana, it became an aura of corrupted demonic elements.
“I used to be nothing but an untalented magician, but thanks to this, I’ve been able to surpass my limits, by implanting myself with a Demonic Heart, I’ve attained the blessing of the demons, who only want our growth!” said Ashhand. “The Gods are lying, the demon king is a savior of humanity, he wants to liberate us from their tyranny!
We magicians, for generations, have always fought against the clerics, paladins, and those disgusting, religious zealots! Don’t you agree? The demon king has finally given us his powers, we are his soldiers, and we will bring a new era of revolution and transcendence to our world! And you, my most talented pupils so far, will become part of it! Don’t you want unlimited power? Don’t you want it?!”
Everything was filmed, we finally got evidence.
“No, we don’t.”
As I answered Ashhand, he smiled back.
“Well, I prepared myself just for that possibility too…”
His tunic lifted, as countless disgusting tentacles with eyes and jaws appeared.
The tentacles then rapidly rushed towards us.
“You will become mine!”
“No, I don’t think we will, you perverted old man!”
I stepped forward and immediately summoned Gram, while using Gaia’s All-Purpose-Tool into its sword-form.
Without hesitation, I attacked him back.
There was no time to think, they were all monsters, and were even planning on brainwashing us, perhaps how many times have they done that to other young magicians!
“What? Swords?!”
As his tentacles approached, I swung both of my weapons horizontally, a slashing wave of pure holy light surged, clashing against his tentacles and slicing all of them into shreds.
SLAAASH!
Blood splattered everywhere, and the pieces of flesh left behind quickly burned due to the powerful purifying light, turning into ashes.
“Kuuaaaagghhh!” Ashhand screamed in agony as he gritted his teeth. “Y-You…! You were not who you said you were! W-Who are you?! How is this- Ugh?!”
FLASH!
But before he could speak another word, I was already in front of him.
“I won’t leave until you’re dead.”
“G-Get away from me!”
“{Holy Pinnacle}!”
SLASH!
BOOOM!
