Chapter 46: the Heavenly Pressure Trial 3

Veyron glanced at the notification before casually dismissing it. "I’ll decide that later."

[Sigh...]

"Hmm? What is it?" Veyron asked upon hearing the system sigh.

[Nothing. Just move forward already. They’re catching up to you!]

Veyron ignored the system’s words and continued moving toward the fivefold gravity zone—the passing boundary of the first trial.

As he advanced, he noticed that more than half of the participants had already been eliminated and teleported out of the hall.

Meanwhile, back at the Azure Battle Grounds, Elder Leo continued hosting the trial while keeping an eye on the enormous projection.

"Looks like we’re about to witness the first participant pass this trial, and I must say, this is quite unexpected!" he announced loudly.

As the audience watched Veyron steadily approach the fivefold gravity boundary, many were left astonished. However, his performance didn’t merely surprise them. Seeing him advance so confidently ignited a competitive fire within the hearts of many young disciples.

"Yayyy! Come on, Veyron!"

"Veyron!"

"Veyron!"

Although the names of other geniuses, such as Max Strom and Naomi Keren, had already echoed throughout the Azure Battle Grounds, Veyron’s name now resounded louder than any other.

At Jade Mist Peak’s seating area, Xialyn wore a wide smile as she cheered for her junior brother. Watching the entire audience rally behind her Little Vey filled her heart with an indescribable warmth.

She had never imagined that she would witness such a day. And it was all because of his own hard work.

Ding!

[Xialyn’s bonding has increased by 5%.]

[Xialyn’s current bonding is 84%.]

Veyron noticed the notification but merely smiled before continuing forward.

"Senior Sister, look! Our junior brother Veyron is doing so well!"

The girls from Jade Mist Peak cheered enthusiastically, their eyes sparkling with excitement as they watched their junior brother advance through the fourfold gravity zone as though it were nothing more than a casual stroll.

To them, Veyron looked like a dashing hero, fearlessly challenging the heavens themselves!

Meanwhile, high above the Azure Battle Grounds, Aveline’s eyes had grown misty as she watched her beloved baby leave the other participants behind.

She couldn’t have been prouder of him.

Beside her, Grand Elder Eleanor was also watching Veyron with keen interest. After observing her friend’s emotional state for a moment, she couldn’t help sighing.

"You still haven’t told me how he repaired his Spirit Veins," Eleanor remarked. "And now this... Have you been hiding his talent from the rest of us all this time?"

Aveline turned toward her friend and shook her head.

"Honestly, I don’t know either. But I believe my Vey has always been a genius among geniuses—a dragon merely waiting for his Spirit Veins to be repaired."

She paused before adding with a slight pout, "And the story I told you was true! That’s exactly what he told me."

"And you actually believed him?" Eleanor raised an eyebrow.

"Why would my baby lie to me?" Aveline replied with an innocent smile. "Besides, just look at him! My Vey is leaving everyone else behind!"

Eleanor could only shake her head at her friend’s unwavering affection for Veyron. However, despite her skepticism, she couldn’t deny that the young man was impressing her more and more.

With the keen perception of a Grand Elder, she could clearly see that Veyron was struggling beneath the crushing gravity. The pressure was far from insignificant, and every step demanded considerable effort from him.

Yet, he refused to let that struggle show on his face.

Instead, he continued forward with a confident smile, concealing his exhaustion and maintaining his composure even as his body endured the tremendous strain.

Eleanor understood just how difficult that was. Such composure under pressure required more than talent or cultivation. It demanded an unyielding spirit—the spirit of a true warrior.

There was something about his expression that reminded her of the heroes she so loved reading about.

Unknown to almost everyone, Grand Elder Eleanor had a particular fondness for novels featuring mighty heroes who soared through the heavens, challenged the impossible, and faced overwhelming odds with smug, confident smiles upon their handsome faces.

And right now, although she would never willingly admit it, she was seeing that very image reflected in Veyron.

The realization stirred an unfamiliar feeling within her heart, something she couldn’t quite understand.

Ding!

[Eleanor’s bonding has increased by 5%.]

[Eleanor’s current bonding is 30%.]

As the notification appeared, Veyron couldn’t help feeling surprised once again. Another five percent! And this time, it was Grand Elder Eleanor herself!

Although he had already begun to understand what interested the usually cold and formidable Grand Elder, this latest increase confirmed his suspicions.

[Hmm... Looks like you’ve finally found the key to the lock named Eleanor.]

"Yeah... Ugh!"

Veyron’s response was interrupted by the tremendous pressure crashing down upon him as he stepped into the fivefold gravity zone.

He immediately began sweating as the weight pressing against his body exceeded his expectations. His legs grew heavier, and every movement demanded considerably more effort than before.

He quickly adjusted his breathing and began regulating his Spirit Energy at a faster pace, circulating it throughout his body to counteract the overwhelming pressure.

However, no matter how efficiently he replenished his Spirit Energy, the physical strain continued to increase.

After all, he was now enduring five times the normal gravitational force, and the trial wasn’t going to become any easier from here.

As he steadied himself, a thought crossed his mind. Can I really reach the end?

It was natural to question his own capabilities when facing such an overwhelming challenge. Yet, Veyron knew that constantly doubting himself was precisely what prevented people from accomplishing the seemingly impossible.

Still, he wasn’t foolish enough to abandon realism altogether. His Earthling mindset had taught him to consider both possibilities and limitations rather than blindly charging toward an impossible goal.

[It’s possible... but it will demand everything you have and push you to your absolute limit.]

[And let’s be honest here. The sect included such an extreme level of gravity because they knew that no Outer Court disciple could reach it. ]

[With your current cultivation, reaching the end should be impossible. However, thanks to your Celestial Spirit Core and special Spirit Veins, it’s not entirely out of reach.]

[So, are you prepared to take on the challenge?]

"Of course!" Veyron answered with a confident smile.

He had never been the type to back down from a challenge simply because it was difficult.

Of course, there were limits to everything. He wasn’t foolish enough to throw his life away over something utterly unreasonable.

But this? This was a challenge worth taking.

With that thought, Veyron resumed his advance, even as the crushing pressure continued to bear down upon him.

Meanwhile, Max Strom had finally reached the fourfold gravity boundary, with Naomi Keren right beside him, only two steps behind. Several other talented disciples were also catching up.

However, what bothered Max the most wasn’t the competition from Naomi or the other geniuses.

It was Veyron Ignis.

The verysame Veyron whom he hadn’t even bothered to look at back in the Outer Court because he had considered him nothing more than a cripple.
