Bonding System: I Grow Stronger by Taming My Sect Elders
Chapter 35: Entering the Immortal Cave
Despite the numerous disciples cultivating in the surrounding Immortal Caves, the garden retained its serene atmosphere, as though the natural beauty itself helped calm the mind.
Aveline, Veyron, and Xialyn soon arrived in front of one particular Immortal Cave.
At first glance, it wasn’t much different from the others. Most of the caves had similar dimensions and designs, with their entrances protected by Spirit Formations that helped maintain the cultivation environment within.
Aveline turned toward Veyron and handed him a ring.
Veyron immediately recognized it as a Spatial Ring, a valuable storage treasure that was generally owned by wealthy noble clan disciples and elders. Ordinary disciples couldn’t easily afford such treasures, making them a symbol of considerable wealth and status.
"Vey, this Spatial Ring is yours from now on. It has the same storage capacity as mine, so you can use it to store your belongings from now on. However, you’ll only be able to use it properly after your three months of closed-door cultivation."
She paused briefly before continuing.
"You won’t need to use it much while you’re inside the cave anyway. Also, I’ve placed five Grade Three Spirit Pills inside for you."
Veyron wasn’t surprised that his aunt had given him five Grade Three Spirit Pills, as he had already expected her to do so.
However, before he could say anything, Xialyn suddenly extended her hand, revealing a small box containing three Grade Three Spirit Pills.
"Take these, Little Vey. They’ll help you with your cultivation," she said with a warm smile.
This time, Veyron was genuinely surprised. He hadn’t expected his senior sister to give him Grade Three Spirit Pills as well.
"Don’t you need them for your own cultivation? It’s alright. I already have ten Grade Three Spirit Pills, including the ones Aunt is giving me."
Xialyn immediately shook her head.
"If you don’t take these, I’ll get mad at you again!" she said with a slight frown. Then, as though remembering something, she added with a wide smile, "Besides, I can always buy more. You know I’m rich!"
Veyron couldn’t help chuckling at her words. His senior sister was certainly something else.
Seeing his reaction, Aveline smiled and said, "Take them, baby. Your senior sister is giving them to you because she wants you to work hard and improve your cultivation."
Xialyn nodded enthusiastically at her master’s words, clearly agreeing with every bit of it.
Seeing how determined the two women were, Veyron decided not to argue any further and accepted the pills.
With that, he now possessed a total of twenty-eight Grade Three Spirit Pills, more than enough to meet his immediate needs.
However, he didn’t consider the extra pills a waste. After all, he could always use them later. Who knew? Perhaps consuming more pills would allow him to refine his Spirit Energy further and establish an even stronger foundation.
The Spirit Initiate Realm was the foundation-building stage of cultivation. During this realm, cultivators refined their Spirit Energy and strengthened their foundations, which would greatly influence their future progress.
The more thoroughly they refined their Spirit Energy, the stronger their foundations could become.
After a brief silence, Aveline stepped forward and placed one hand on Veyron’s shoulder. Looking directly into his eyes, she spoke with a gentle yet serious expression.
"Baby, I don’t want to keep you in the dark about this. You’re currently at the fourth rank of the Spirit Initiate Realm, and breaking through to the Spirit Adept Realm within just three months will be extremely difficult."
She paused for a moment before continuing.
"Even if you had more Spirit Pills, it wouldn’t be easy. So, if you fail to achieve your goal, don’t be disappointed. You can always try again next time."
Aveline’s voice was filled with concern. She didn’t want Veyron to put too much pressure on himself or become discouraged if things didn’t go as planned.
Xialyn also understood what her master was trying to tell her Little Vey. She knew how difficult it would be for him to achieve such a breakthrough in only three months, and she couldn’t bring herself to discourage him further by saying it outright.
After all, she knew how much becoming an Inner Court disciple meant to him.
His peers had already advanced while he had been left behind, unable to cultivate properly because of his crippled Spirit Veins.
Even if he had never complained about it, Xialyn could imagine how painful it must have been for him to watch everyone else progress while he remained stuck in the same place.
Yet he had endured it all quietly, continuing to work hard without giving up hope.
Now that his Spirit Veins had finally been repaired, he had a chance to change his fate and catch up with those who had once left him behind.
Even if he couldn’t reach the Spirit Adept Realm within three months, simply being able to cultivate properly and make meaningful progress would already be a tremendous achievement.
Veyron looked at the two women standing before him. These were the people who cared about him most, and he could feel the genuine concern behind their words.
A warm smile spread across his face.
"When three months are over, both of you will be surprised. That’s all I’m going to say for now."
He spoke with such confidence that both women couldn’t help looking at him with curiosity.
How could he be so confident? Was there something else he was hiding from them? As far as they knew, Veyron didn’t possess anything special that would allow him to make such bold claims.
Yet, after hearing his words, neither Aveline nor Xialyn knew why, but they found themselves wanting to believe him.
There was something about the confidence in his voice and the determination in his eyes that made them feel as though he would truly accomplish what he had promised.
They couldn’t explain it, but deep down, they felt that Veyron would definitely surprise them when he emerged from his closed-door cultivation.
Neither of them said anything further, choosing to wait and see what he would accomplish.
Veyron then turned toward his aunt and continued, "And Aunt, please register my name among the participants for the Inner Court disciple selection. I won’t have enough time to take care of it myself."
Aveline smiled and shook her head.
"You don’t have to tell me that, baby. Your aunt would have taken care of it even if you hadn’t asked. However, whether you’ll actually be able to participate still depends on you meeting the requirements.
After all, every disciple who wishes to participate must have reached the Spirit Adept Realm."
"I know..." Veyron replied calmly.
He understood that there was little point in trying to convince them any further. No matter what he said, they would only believe him once he showed them the results himself.
So, instead of making more promises, he decided to let his actions speak for him.
Once he successfully broke through to the Spirit Adept Realm, both women would finally understand where his confidence came from.
"Alright, it’s time. I’ll see you both in three months," Veyron said with a smile.
Both women nodded in response. After giving them one last look, Veyron turned around and approached the entrance of his Immortal Cave. A massive stone slab stood before him, blocking the entrance.
He placed his hand against it and pushed, causing the heavy slab to slide open. Without wasting any more time, he stepped inside the cave.
Oncehe had entered, he turned around and closed the entrance from within, leaving the two women standing outside.
