Bonding System: I Grow Stronger by Taming My Sect Elders
Chapter 24: Let me help you
This one would be difficult. Still, he understood that she respected strength. He would show her what he could do. She already admired his courage and bravery, and she held high expectations for him.
Next, Veyron checked Grand Elder Eleanor’s battle techniques. They were all impressive, especially the Heaven Rank technique she possessed. It did not surprise him. From a woman as strong as her, he had expected nothing less.
She also possessed a Purple Spirit Core, the highest-ranked core he had encountered so far. However, it wouldn’t be long before he possessed the highest-ranked Spirit Core in the entire empire, if not the whole world.
Since he could not share anything with her yet, he soon closed her profile. He was finished with it for now, and there was still some time before his aunt returned. So he began cultivating.
With his blue spirit core, he entered the cultivation stage with ease. He started refining the spirit energy around him and drawing it in.
As he worked, he gauged his progress. At this pace, it would take at least six months—perhaps longer—to break through to the Spirit Adept realm. He had been right to think he needed a boost.
Still, he continued cultivating until his aunt’s voice called up from downstairs and pulled him out of the state.
"Vey, come down. Dinner is ready."
Veyron opened his eyes at once. "How long was I cultivating for?"
[Eight hours.]
He nodded and went downstairs. Cultivators like Aveline no longer needed food to sustain themselves—she was already in the Spirit King realm—but it still mattered for Veyron, who remained in the Spirit Initiate realm.
Even so, cultivators used special ingredients in their meals, ingredients that contained spirit energy. The higher the quality, the more spirit energy they held. For cultivators, eating was another way of absorbing spirit energy.
As he came down to the kitchen, he saw his aunt serving food on the table. She wore a different set of soft pink robes now, the kind meant for comfort at home. It looked as if she had just bathed.
The fabric was still slightly damp in places, clinging lightly to her skin. Her robes were tied loosely at the waist, the neckline low enough to reveal the deep line of her cleavage and a generous glimpse of her large, soft breasts.
The pink cloth stretched gently across them with every small movement, and the loose tie let the fabric shift and open a little more whenever she leaned forward to set down a plate.
She looked truly tempting. He had not seen her like this in a long time. After he became an adult, she had always dressed more reserved around him. Now, it seemed she had returned to her usual self.
She did not need to hide anything from her precious baby. She loved him too much for that. Aveline felt Veyron’s gaze travel over her body—over the curve of her chest, the soft fullness of her waist, the way the thin pink robe clung to her hips.
A small shudder ran through her, but she kept her composure.
"You’re here. Come on, sit down," she said.
Just as Veyron was about to follow her words, a notification appeared.
Ding!
[You have received a Quest!]
[Quest: Win Aveline Completely]
[Make your aunt submit to you fully. Make her completely yours.]
[Quest Difficulty: Normal]
[Time Limit: None]
[Penalty: None]
[Reward: 1000 BP]
So it’s finally arrived, Veyron thought. He had expected one. He had already decided to win his aunt completely tonight.
One thing still puzzled him. If the difficulty was only normal, why was the reward higher than the previous quest, which had been marked hard? The System answered at once.
[Quest rewards do not depend solely on difficulty. They do in most cases, but this is an important quest for you, so I calculated everything accordingly.]
[And quit pretending. I know you’re pleased with it. Don’t act curious about your gains. I can read your mind.]
Veyron shook his head. Then Aveline’s voice reached him. "What happened, baby? You’re still standing there. Come sit?"
"Oh, sorry, Aunt. I got distracted for a moment," he said with an awkward smile.
"You silly." Aveline sighed softly. They both sat down and began to eat, talking quietly as they did.
"What did you talk about with Grand Elder Eleanor, Aunt?" Veyron asked. He wanted to know.
Aveline looked at him and answered with a soft smile. "Nothing important. We just chatted about a few things related to the sect... and you, of course."
"Me?" Veyron raised an eyebrow. What could they have been talking about him?
"Well, she really admired your bravery for talking to her that way. Not many have done that and lived to tell the tale. Hehehe." Aveline laughed lightly.
Veyron swallowed his food as he thought about it. He had gotten ahead of himself earlier, but deep down he had still been scared she might kill him.
Aveline saw the look on his face. She chuckled again. "Don’t worry, baby. She won’t kill you. Or I’ll make sure of that."
"That’s good to know..." Veyron said.
Aveline continued. "But Vey, she was right. You should work on your temper. And especially, don’t engage with the people of the Ignis clan. They are ruthless bastards who would go to any lengths to get what they want."
"Aunt, can I ask you something?" Veyron’s tone suddenly turned serious. Aveline sighed. She already knew what he was going to ask.
"Don’t bother. I won’t say. You’re not ready."
"I know. You won’t tell me the full story. But just tell me this... why do I still have to keep this surname, even though the Ignis clan doesn’t accept me?"
Aveline was quiet for a moment, as if deciding whether she should answer even this much. Finally, she spoke. "I can only tell you this much for now. This is what your parents wanted. Especially your father. That’s why you’re keeping the surname, even if you don’t like it."
Veyron listened. It was not much, but he understood. If this was what his parents had wanted, he could keep it. His aunt clearly respected that choice. He would do the same.
"I understand," he said, and went back to eating. After that, he told Aveline about his plan to enter closed-door cultivation for three months.
"Hm... I would certainly miss you a lot, but it’s for your good. So I’ll arrange an immortal cave for you. Since you aren’t allowed in the ones for core disciples, I’ll make an exception.
You can use one if you pay enough spirit stones, and as your guardian, I can arrange that."
"Thank you very much, Aunt!" Veyron thanked her. She was doing him a great favor. He would get to cultivate in an immortal cave reserved for core disciples.
It was not against sect rules if you could pay enough spirit stones. He knew his aunt was rich and had plenty. He could not tell her she did not have to do it. He knew this would be very important for his breakthrough.
Of course, he would accept his aunt’s generosity.
Immortal caves were places where concentrated spirit energy gathered because of special spirit formations. They were built in special locations within the sect so disciples could cultivate there.
Aveline knew it was impossible for him to break through to the Spirit Adept realm in three months, Still, she wanted to support him. A few spirit stones were nothing compared to her baby’s growth and happiness.
After they finished eating, Aveline went to wash the dishes. Veyron remained seated for a moment, knowing this was when he should begin to make his move.
His eyes followed the soft sway of her generous, wide ass as she stood at the basin, her hands moving through the water, the thin pink robe shifting with every small motion.
He stood and walked over. "Let me help you, Aunt."
