[BL]The Matchmaker Guide Doesn't Want Love
Chapter 219: Ch 219: Pleased to meet the Guest - Part 1
For the first time, even Alan looked stunned, and he glanced at Noah with a shocked look on his face. But Noah ignored him and instead turned to look at the other espers whose lives he had just spared.
"Are you here to cause trouble for me?"
Noah asked in a clear voice, wanting a yes-or-no answer. But the esper in front of him did not take his words seriously. Instead of answering him, he decided to let out a sigh and give Noah a dirty look.
"Kid, this is none of your concern. This is not a situation you need to put yourself into. If anything, you should stay out of this. I am saying this for your own sanity."
The man assured Noah with a sympathetic look on his face.
But Noah’s reaction was the same calm one as before, which made the esper nervous.
"I will ask you again one last time. Are you here to cause me trouble?"
Noah showed no sign of being afraid, which made the esper from the Esper-Guide unit realise that perhaps he was not a normal person.
Actually, anyone who could handle and stop Alan like this could not be a normal person. His approach to this topic had been wrong from the start.
Once he realised this, his attitude changed, and he put on a smile to show that he was harmless.
"I apologise for barging in here unannounced. That was not my intention. Please allow us to rectify this situation."
The esper took a quick glance at Alan, who was standing by Noah’s side, and realised that he might be in danger right now. But his instincts told him that as long as he appeased this guide, he would be fine.
So he decided to beg for forgiveness with everything he had.
He was the leader of these people and someone highly respected. As a result, he had a big ego, and the people around him knew him quite well.
So seeing him being respectful like this did not sit well with them, and they could not help but look at him and then at Noah with slightly shocked expressions.
This, in turn, did not sit well with Alan, who was already fed up with all the excess attention Noah was getting. But Noah did not allow him to act out, and he raised his hand to tell Alan to sit back down.
Alan grumbled but followed his instructions, which made everyone around them flinch.
After all, Alan was not one to follow rules.
"Sir, I accept your apology, and I am also willing to believe that all of this was an accident. Please come inside and make yourself comfortable. I would like to talk to you further regarding this ’compensation’ you promised me."
Noah sounded interested, but the esper leader suddenly felt his life flashing before his eyes. And that was because of Alan.
The SSS-grade esper was giving him a look that told him he should decline if he knew what was good for him.
Knowing Alan, it would not be too much of a stretch to think that he would end up murdering someone just because he wanted to. And due to his family, he would not face any repercussions.
And yet, despite knowing this, the esper leader could not help but want to take this gamble.
There was something about this friendly guide that attracted his inner esper. He wanted to get to know him better and maybe take this relationship further-
"Hey, don’t have weird thoughts. Do you think I cannot tell what you are thinking?"
A low voice whispered in his ear, and he tensed and looked back, only to see Daniel standing in the middle of the Esper-Guide Association members.
He felt foreign and threatening at the same time.
Despite being a guide, he had a presence that made the hair on the backs of their necks stand on end, and they all felt tense as they watched him walk away and towards Noah.
"There is no need to scare these kids. I am sure they realise what they did wrong as well."
Noah pointed out as he scolded Daniel. But the other guide made a pouting face that looked adorable on him... but the Esper-Guide Association members had a feeling it was an act.
They could sense danger coming from Daniel, and his aura was telling them all not to look at him.
And yet, he turned back to Noah and decided to whine at him.
"Why did you leave me alone like this? This is not fair. Are you saying you care about Alan more than you care about me?"
Daniel whined like a little child, which made Noah let out a sigh. Noah’s eyes were warmer when he looked at the guide hugging him, and he patted his back in reassurance.
"It is not true. I like both of you equally. But I would also like a chance to be able to talk to my guest as well. So can you pull back a little?"
Noah asked, and everyone watched as Daniel pouted, but he did pull back.
When he looked at the Esper-Guide Association members, his eyes were deadly, and they warned them not to try and pull a fast one.
"If that’s what you want, then fine. You can talk to these people. But we will still stay around, alright? I don’t want to see you getting hurt."
Daniel whined even louder, but his eyes said it all—he was sure these outsiders would hurt Noah when he was not there.
His confidence made the espers from the association feel annoyed. They were not brutes who would harm a guide just because he did not listen to them once or twice.
And Noah’s presence felt too overwhelming for them to raise their hands against him as well.
But somehow, saying this in Daniel’s presence felt too intimidating. So they kept their mouths shut and decided that it was not worth opening their mouths for now. They needed time and trust to be able to get this guide out of Alan and Daniel’s clutches.
