It did not even take twelve hours before Daniel’s communication device started buzzing, and he had to get out of the room to take the call.

Since he did not want to wake Noah up with his unnecessary yelling, he made an annoyed face and quickly went to a secure location to take the call.

"Hello. This better be important because I am not in a good mood today."

Daniel immediately made it clear that he was not going to bother with pleasantries, and the person on the other end looked startled by this gesture before they replied.

"It is fine if you are not bothering with gestures today because I cannot be bothered to be nice to you either. Anyway, where the hell are you and your partner? The higher-ups are worried and want you back—"

"Both Alan and I would like to submit for paid time off right now. The dungeon messed Alan up, and he needs time to get himself together. I would advise you not to contact us unless it’s an extreme emergency."

Daniel quickly replied before the other side could say anything more, and he cut the call off.

"Hey, I am still speaking to you—"

The person on the speaker tried to get their words in, but it was too late. Daniel had already given his answer, and he turned off his phone so he could spend some quality time with Noah.

He knew that it was risky to do since it would make the Esper-Guide Department even more eager to find them. But if they had any sense of self-preservation, they would not bother to do this.

Daniel quickly went back, only to see Alan wrapped around Noah without leaving any space for him.

"Tsk, you are such a pest. Stop sticking yourself to Noah like this. You will suffocate him with your body."

Daniel pointed it out as he slipped into the bed as well. But Alan just ignored him and pretended he was still asleep.

This asshole was trying his best to get on Daniel’s nerves, and he wanted to kick Alan down from the bed.

Unfortunately, that man would take Noah with him as well if he were to fall. And that was the only thing holding Daniel back from actually going through with his words.

...

Noah’s eyes fluttered as he did his best to figure out where he was before opening them.

He could instantly feel someone’s presence behind him and in front of him. Noah felt mortified to realise how long it took for him to recognise Daniel and Alan.

But as soon as he recognised them, his mouth went dry, and no words came out of his mouth. His grip on their clothes also tightened, but he could not even move at the moment.

The arms around him tightened before Alan’s face came into focus.

The esper was looking at Noah with wide eyes that held a smile in them, and it made Noah nervous. He unconsciously backed up against Daniel’s chest, causing the guide to rest his shoulder over Noah’s shoulders.

"Are you finally awake?"

Daniel asked, tightening his grip around Noah’s middle even more, and Noah had a sudden urge to lie about what was happening.

"I am not the person you are looking for."

He immediately lied, causing both Daniel and Alan to stiffen before laughter poured from their lips.

Noah recognised this laughter and felt his face flushing red with embarrassment.

He knew that there was no point in denying all this at this point, but he still wanted to pretend he was not the person they were looking for.

Unfortunately, Alan had no desire to play along with him, and his hand reached for Noah’s chest to pinch his nipple.

That made Noah realise that he had been naked all this time. But what point was there in feeling embarrassed after everything they had already done together?

"You want me to believe that the guiding I am feeling coming out of you does not belong to my guide and that you are different people? You should try a better lie if you are going to lie to me. But such clumsy lies have their own charm."

Alan whispered as he soothed Noah’s chest, causing Daniel to frown.

"Hey, stop trying to hurt Noah. Can’t you see that he’s sensitive already? You tugged his chest a lot already. Noah, are you alright? Does anything hurt?"

Daniel asked in slight panic, and Noah shook his head.

He had realised that there was no point in pretending anymore. It was better to have everything out in the open.

"I am fine. But what are you two doing here? Should you still not be in school—"

"We left and joined the Esper-Guide Association. The school held too many bad memories, and we wanted to get out and be able to find you."

Alan finished before Noah could even ask more. His tone sounded annoyed, which made Noah want to ask more and not ask at the same time.

Seeing his conflicted expression, Daniel was the one who cupped his cheeks and smiled at him.

"There is no need to frown. This is a choice we made because we could. Anyway, you should focus on your recovery. I have a feeling the upcoming days are going to be hard for you to adjust to."

Daniel whispered the last part, but Noah heard him clearly.

He wanted to ask what Daniel meant by this, but the other guide stood up and decided to leave the room to cook some dinner.

Noah did think about stopping him and talking more, but he was hungry and wanted to eat as well.

Seeing him pout like this made Alan let out a chuckle, and he patted Noah’s body in his arms.

"Don’t look so disappointed. It makes me have thoughts about you, and it becomes harder to control myself. So unless you want to entertain me, you better stop this now."

Alan warned, and Noah immediately settled down in his arms with a blush.
