[BL]The Matchmaker Guide Doesn't Want Love
Chapter 164: Ch 164: Where it all Began - Part 2
Noah’s first memory in this world was of a gaze piercing through his soul and looking into his essence. It was the fear of that gaze that made him become active and open his eyes.
It was hard to know what was happening, but the presence of the other two forms around him kept him steady, and he tried to maintain his grip on them, knowing that they would be someone precious to him.
But the more he tried that, the more that gaze seemed to linger on him until he could not take it anymore.
He was inside some kind of liquid, but it was miraculously not going into his lungs. He was fascinated by it, but before he could figure it out, he was taken out of the water and handed to the owner of that sharp gaze.
Noah could instinctively tell he was in trouble as that hand reached for his forehead. But instead of hitting him, it lightly patted his head and then took him away from the other two.
"You are a fascinating creature. I wonder what it is about you that made me feel like this? But whatever it is, I want more of it."
The man carrying Noah around told him, and this was the first voice Noah ever heard in his life.
It was terrifying and overwhelming. He wanted to get away from it, but it seemed like he had nowhere to run.
"Kid, since I am fascinated by you, I want to try and see deep into your mind. Don’t move much. It will only take a second for me to use my abilities on you."
Noah felt scared, and he wanted to struggle. But the power of that suggestion was wound so tightly in his mind that he felt like he had to stay still.
The large hand headed for his head and covered it. Noah had a second to react before he felt memories filling his mind. No, these were not memories, but rather visions.
[You will now be able to see a glimpse of the future.]
And it all began to flash in front of his eyes. It was like he was reading a book and going through it at a fascinating pace. The details looked clear to him, and he saw the other two experiments with him in the future.
They were together in a place they called ’academy’, and they overcame hurdles to be together. And Noah? He could sense that he was there, but his role was not that important.
That day, Noah realised the truth of this world and that he was not from there. These memories that flashed inside his mind had to be a mission he was given when he came to this world.
Noah had no grounds to believe all this, but he still felt convinced that he came to this world with a purpose.
"So kid, what did you see?"
The terrifying voice asked Noah, and he looked at the intimidating shadow covering him.
This man was not someone he had seen in the future, but his instincts recognised danger even at a young age.
"I...did not see..."
He felt compelled to lie, even if he knew that it was useless. There was no way this man was going to believe a word he said. And yet, the man just looked at Noah with a slightly amused expression.
"I see. If you are saying that you did not see anything in the future, then I will believe you. But you have to tell me if you see anything in the future, alright?"
The man asked, and despite him not doing much, Noah still felt a sense of fear evolving in his mind. His smile felt stiff and useless, but he tried to smile anyway.
The head researcher did not care about what he thought or did not think as he grabbed Noah and raised him to eye level.
"You are someone special, kid. One day, you are going to be my pride and joy as a guide. So you better brace yourself."
Noah was suddenly struck with a sense of fear at those words. He had a feeling that if he showed his abilities, then he would be forced to remain in these labs forever. Moreover, the other two with him would be killed off.
He could not allow that. He had to protect those kids he saw in the future. So he did not answer and pretended he did not notice the gaze looking at him either.
"For now, let’s get you back to the labs and have you tested. I assume you won’t let me down?"
The head researcher asked in a certain voice that made Noah’s insides go cold. His mouth refused to open either as he tried to look at him. He could just nod as he was dragged away.
But he did make a certain promise to himself at that time—that he would not let this man win.
Since this man wanted to see Noah’s power, he would make sure to seal it and appear low-grade. He would just appear useful enough to the point where he was not discarded while remaining with the other kids.
’How weird. But why do I have all this knowledge in my mind? Could I truly have been reincarnated?’
Noah was not so sure about this, but he suddenly felt like he could understand a lot more than before.
The head researcher took him back and put him beside the pair he had seen in his vision.
"I will leave S-001 in your care now. Make sure E-001 and G-002 behave and stay in their lanes. This kid will be mine starting from this day forward."
The head researcher staked his claim, and no one was brave enough to challenge him...except the two kids on either side of Noah who clutched at his arms and held on tightly.
They refused to let him go even in the face of danger, and Noah felt a sense of affection for them as well.
