[BL]The Matchmaker Guide Doesn't Want Love
Chapter 151: Ch 151: Spending time together - Part 3
Daniel had no intention of heading to class early without Noah, but the time was running out, and he was going to be late.
He did not care for the most part, but it could put a hitch in their plans to investigate this academy and their teachers if he acted suspiciously.
So, despite not wanting to leave Noah alone, Daniel had to leave him be, and he headed to the class. Alan was already there, but it was something they had agreed upon.
"Have you found anything regarding our past? If not, then we can knock our teacher out during the practical class and use that time to snoop around."
Instead of greeting Alan, Daniel suggested this. Most people would have been disturbed by this, but Alan simply blinked at him and nodded.
"That should be fine. I did look around a bit, but the security measures are tight. I tried to contact my parents as well, but they are out on a secret mission for now or something. This means we are really short on information."
Daniel felt like cursing Professor Erin and his half-baked knowledge.
That man looked like he knew everything about them, but he was still acting like he had no idea. What was worse was that they could not corner him and make him speak either, or they could risk making Noah sad.
"You need to have some patience here. Otherwise, the teacher would walk all over you."
Daniel felt annoyed with how the situation was unfolding, but Alan simply told him to have some patience.
"I have enough patience."
Daniel insisted, although the way his fingers kept tapping against the desk made it obvious that he was already getting irritated.
Alan only gave him an amused look and continued with what he was doing, which somehow made Daniel even more agitated as the hours slowly passed and lunch break finally came around.
By then, Daniel had reached the limit of his patience, and he grabbed Alan before slamming him against the desk.
"Stop acting strange, or you are going to give us away."
Daniel warned him, lowering his voice as he kept a firm hold on him.
Alan blinked at him before sighing and placing his hands against the desk.
"I am trying, you know."
Daniel stared at him for a moment, but before he could say anything else, their teacher suddenly called out to them, causing both of them to turn towards the classroom entrance.
That was when they noticed Noah standing there.
Daniel’s expression immediately changed when he realised what the situation must have looked like from Noah’s perspective. Noah was staring at them with an awkward expression, and Daniel suddenly understood that he had probably misunderstood their interactions.
"Noah, it is not what you think."
Daniel immediately tried to explain. However, Noah only gave him a small smile and quickly shook his head.
"It is fine. You don’t have to explain anything."
There was something about the way Noah said it that made Daniel feel even more uneasy, but Noah had already turned his attention towards the teacher and avoided looking at either of them.
Daniel wanted to bring the topic up again, but after seeing how deliberately Noah was avoiding it, he decided to drop the subject for now.
Still, he could not help wondering how much Noah had actually seen before they were interrupted.
The next class started soon afterwards, and the teacher looked towards the entrance when he noticed that there were three students present today instead of the usual two.
His expression became annoyed for a moment, as though he was already preparing himself to deal with the additional student, but then his face suddenly relaxed into a smile.
"Since there are three of you today, why don’t you two continue as you are? Student Noah can partner with me for this class."
Daniel immediately narrowed his eyes at the suggestion because something about the teacher’s sudden change in attitude felt suspicious, especially when he had already been expecting only two students to attend.
"I don’t think that is necessary. Noah can work with us. We have worked as a trio before-"
Daniel protested, but the teacher only waved his concern away with a reassuring smile.
"Don’t worry about it, Daniel. I am a professional, and I will be perfectly fine working with Student Noah."
Noah also seemed slightly startled by the arrangement, but after looking between the teacher and Daniel, he slowly nodded.
"That should be fine."
He clearly did not look comfortable with the idea, yet he did not protest or try to change the arrangement, which only made Daniel’s irritation grow stronger as he watched Noah move closer to the teacher.
Daniel could not understand why Noah was simply accepting the situation when he could clearly see that something was wrong, and the fact that Noah seemed unwilling to say anything about it only made Daniel feel more helpless.
"Fine."
Daniel muttered, his expression darkening as he turned towards Alan.
He needed to get rid of the anger building inside him before he accidentally did something suspicious, so he grabbed Alan by the arm and started dragging him away from Noah without giving him any time to complain.
"Hey, what are you doing? You might be comfortable leaving Noah alone, but I am not! I am heading back right now-"
Alan asked, looking confused as Daniel continued pulling him along.
"Just come with me. It would be even more uncomfortable for Noah to be with us right now."
He complained, cutting Alan off before he could run back toward Noah. He was practically holding on to Alan alone.
Daniel did not realise how the scene looked from the outside, especially with him dragging Alan away as though they were a couple having some private disagreement, while Noah remained behind with their teacher.
By the time he finally released Alan, Daniel was still too irritated to notice that their act was becoming more convincing than either of them had intended. Nor did he notice that Naoh was looking at him with a sour expression on his face.
