Chapter 152 - 152: Cultivation Basics

  • Next Chapter

Alexander opened his eyes while sitting cross legged on the ground, his body shining with light as he completed another breakthrough in his cultivation.

Due to his late start in his past life he had the chance to begin with a wealth of knowledge that the community had brought to the world.

After the mana baptism of earth people even began to discuss their own unique cultivation methods that had been rewarded while inside of BLO, there were some who shared their methods to loyal followers for the growth of a bloodline while others never allowed their methods to be shared to people who had not begun cultivating.

Body cultivation was not like Mana Core absorption since mana core absorption only ever had one method, specifically the evolution of the mana core as the person grew stronger.

Body cultivation had so many methods that some people had even managed to create their own, the effectiveness of those methods likely were not great but there were many years to learn.

In the game world he had found a unique cultivation method that did not help him until the world gained mana, the awakening of his true body to mana allowed him to actually start practicing what he discovered.

As a person with the light affinity he only cared about getting a cultivation method that gave him the highest base value of growth since his light core would allow him to grow infinitely more powerful, the foundation of his stats meant faster growth with even higher long term stats.

'With my current power and my cultivation method I should end up more powerful than the pope at some point, no way he started with a powerful cultivation base.'

He flexed his arms and feathered wings as the sensation of light flooded his cells while the burn of fire mana made his strength rise.

'Using fire mana to cleanse my body while my light mana tempers it will create the greatest power I can potentially obtain. Would it be going too far to teach people cultivation early?'

He shook his head and decided to question it later while he returned to combat.

'With my organs and bones fully cleansed I am almost in the D minus rank with all of my physical stats so I should raise my mental stats with my stat points.'

He always thought it was strange that the system in BLO allowed you to raise your stats with stat points from leveling up when the real world just applied that energy as it saw fit.

While he was mulling through his thoughts he saw a flying lion monster.

A creature that heavily resembled a manticore but radiating fire and poison mana.

It flew straight at him so he unsheathed his sword.

He laughed to himself as his stats had nearly achieved the standards for being considered a D- rank existence.

To grow to the next rank you must have at least three stats reach the next rank while every other stats cannot be lower than one stage under the rank you are achieving.

He had to reach F plus on every stat while his three D ranked stats only had to continue growing.

'A cultivation method designed for the vessel of a Supreme being like Gaia, that quest would always be the hardest I ever completed.'

With his sword drawn he activated his mana enhancements before pushing two elements into his blade, light and fire.

The manticore began to glow with flame as the scorpion tail lashed out from below, flames billowing out in a stream as he powered through.

His blade slashed through the flames before releasing a wave of burning light that seared through the hide of the beast, the wing falling away like a carelessly thrown rag.

Before the manticore could try to regenerate or even have time to fall Alexander dashed into it with a beautifully performed sword thrust.

It hung there simply while trying to slash or stab with the natural weaponry of it's body but each attack was met with a dense barrier formed or life mana filled with light, a barrier that this creature simply did not have the strength to pierce.

When he pulled away the blade he watched as the beast tried to right itself with the remaining wing, the creature made another attempt at attack but the claws met only air as he began a dance of slashes through the sky.

The body slowly came apart as he butchered the helpless creature.

'Faster, I need to be faster and I need to hit harder. My magic keeps me alive and my bloodline makes me nearly immortal but they won't be strong enough to slay the world bosses in the future events.'

With that he continued his hunt under the sun, his power slowly growing by each day that he spent in sunlight.

The negotiations had taken too much time as far as Lucretia was concerned.

She had spent days just finding common ground amongst the other kingdoms that would not be met with immediate refusal by the infernal council.

The existence of the council had made sense when it was created but she never liked the fact that she just had to metaphorically bow her head to a dozen cantankerous old women who believed they could match the logic and experience of a woman who had lived for over three thousand years.

Sure she still had the power to veto their laws just as they could veto her decisions as representative of their entire race, that doesnt mean she had to be happy with their interference.

"So the infernal magic academies will open their doors to select members of other races who pass our entry requirements, we will ensure the entry requirements are fair to the capabilities of the other races."

"In return you will receive knowledge of the cultivation methods used by the Draconic Kingdom and you will be allowed to pursue marriage proposals with the Elven Queendoms."

There were many minor agreements between the races regarding trade and how laws would be enforced against the members of various species while within the land of their allies.

The beastfolk were given basic access as Lucretia hated speaking with their king and the Reptilian race got the same, not because of any hatred but because she could not find anything the council would consider valuable.

As for the celestials?

They had always been considered the divine siblings of the infernals, the doors of their kingdoms had never been closed to eachother.

Celestial halfbloods were some of the only half breeds that received zero abuse from pure blooded devils.

As for the way laws had to be enforced? She would make sure the council pulled back heavily on the social respect based laws like what makes must wear in public or how certain figures must behave when talking to one another.

There would be no enforcing of laws regarding which races were allowed to speak to pure bloods of course.

In exchange the other races would be mindful of how the infernals would act in their own cities, infernals would be forcibly taught to respect their hosts when outside of the infernal kingdom but she felt that the influx of Draconic and Elven Bloodlines would make the council more willing to see reason.

As for the academies?

Only half bloods were allowed to enter and that had been a hard fought victory that Lucretia had been forcing the principals of every academy to obey.

Change came slowly in the infernal kingdom when it was possible to live just as long as their Elven friends.

"Lucretia, would you like to join me for tea before you leave?"

Amadaya turned to Lucretia with a polite smile while the others filed out.

"I wish to return and see my future mate so this cannot be long dear sister."

"Haaah Lucretia you don't have to use honorifics with me, please just call me Ama."

As she stood to follow the celestial queen she felt a presence behind her.

"Leave me Beast King, I have a mate and if you do not respect my chosen I will make your kingdom select a new leader."

"Oh? You would cause an international incident over some worthless weakling?"

Before she could even turn around a blinding spear of light flashed past her face and hit a surface with a sickening thunk.

"You have been warned multiple times Recta of the Maned ones, you have disrespected the queen of devils and disrespected the chosen mate of the queen. By ignoring my repeated requests to drop this behavior in my kingdom you have also repeatedly disrespected me in my own kingdom."

Lucretia had watched as Amadaya created a light spear spell to attack the king of beast folk, when she turned to look at him she was reminded of just how weak this man truly was.

"You think you are worthy of claiming me as a member of your harem? You are barely a few centuries old and even the young queen of the celestials is stronger than you. How do you expect to survive a single day of my rage should you harm my chosen mate? You are nothing but a bug beneath my heel."

Their words seemed to strike something deep within King Recta as Amadaya finally let the light spear dissipate.

He snarled one last time before leaving.

'I will rip your mate's organ off and feed it to him.'
