June 29 2026, 10:22am.

As the words echoed around the room, Nyx’ara found herself freezing in place.

She stared at the man in front of her, unsure if she had heard him correctly. Her breath hitched somewhere in her throat and her heart wouldn’t stop pounding both in excitement and a fear that this was a joke.

’That is impossible!’ Nyx’ara almost yelled at his face.

It was impossible because she never got the chance to apply to NYU three years ago. It was impossible because, around this time, the first semester was already wrapping up, leaving them little to no room to take in any new students, especially one who was a high school dropout, no matter how good her grades used to be.

Her lips pressed together just as she wrapped her arms around her quaky little body, and with her voice so small, it was barely louder than a whisper, she mumbled; "I never applied."

"You never had to," Draven answered, his voice small yet hard. His deep eyes followed her every movement like he was stalking her, and as he took notice of all her micro-expressions, he couldn’t help but feel the corners of his lips lifting slowly.

She was adorable... this one.

She was trying so hard not to break down, but he could see just how much this meant to her.

Seeing as she still did not believe him, he picked up her acceptance letter, rose from his chair, and circled the desk until he stood close enough to see the pulse fluttering in her neck.

How much faster would it beat if I wrapped her hair around my fist and pulled her head back? If I kissed her until her mouth bruised and hiked up her skirt until she begged me to fuck her?

Heat ran to his groin.

"Here, take a look at this." When he spoke, his voice sounded gruff. His face had become redder than usual, and his hands—his usually steady hands—shook slightly as she took the paper from him.

Silence settled between them as she began to read slowly and by the time she was done, her face was flushed. Her heart was racing. Hell, even her palms were sweaty and clammy.

Her eyes widened as she looked up at Draven and in that moment, a bit of anger flared within her. She snapped; "I see you’ve completely ta-taken me as a fool."

Draven did not respond immediately, he simply tilted his head to the side and watched her, waiting to see if she would finally believe him.

She didn’t.

She huffed out a long breath and turned away, her limbs shaking violently as she made her way to the door. "I know yo-you hate me! God, I-I understand why you do. But it is unfair that you would try to hurt me by using the things I long for!"

She lamented like a child throwing tantrums, her hands flailing as she continued to stomp towards the door.

However, just as she arrived in front of the wooden structure and was about to pull the door open, thick calloused fingers fisted into her hair.

A loud yelp slipped past her lips as pain exploded in her scalp. A pain which soon morphed into a twisted kind of pleasure.

Her hands shot up to grab the fingers in her hair but she was too small... too weak... too short compared to the giant behind her.

Draven pulled her off her feet, carried her to his desk, and plopped her against the wooden surface like she weighed not more than a crate of eggs. With one swift swoop, he sent everything on his desk flying to the floor. The objects— including his Apple laptop— clattered to the ground with a loud noise, but he didn’t even flinch.

His entire attention was on the girl in front of him.

Nyx’ara’s face lost all its color as she looked up at Draven’s dark brooding eyes. Her breath stuttered and her heartbeat accelerated. She hissed; "L-let me go!"

For a moment, Draven contemplated doing as she had said. He contemplated leaving her alone and allowing her to walk out of this room not believing him. However, he liked the feel of her body against his. He liked the way her chest heaved and her heart thundered against his body, hence the reason he refused to let her go.

He liked the small almost nonexistent expressions on her face and loved the way her lips were downturned in anger. He liked her frown and wanted to trace his fingers along every line and crevice...

Hell man, behave yourself.

He frowned. "Do you think you’re so special that I would go this far just to break you?" He snapped, his voice cold— a stark contrast to the heat spreading through his veins.

He didn’t wait for her to answer. He continued: "You are not. If I want to break you, all I have to do is this..." he drawled, his voice lowering as his finger curled inside her knee.

The pressure of his hold made her body go stiff and made her breath cease.

She froze.

"And this..." he continued, flexing his fingers against her skin until his touch spread literal fire in her blood.

His hands danced up her hot skin until they settled at the spot between the top of her thigh and her vagina and then he lowered his head until his lips brushed against the top of her head, sending shockwaves down her spine.

"A-alpha..." the silent plea fell out of Nyx’ara’s lips before she could hold back. She squeezed her eyes shut and held her breath, hating the way her body responded wantonly to his touch.

She wanted to tell him to stop but it was taking everything in her not to pick his fingers and dip them into her wet cunt. Hell, it was taking a crazy amount of willpower and self-control for her not to rock her hips over his hardened fingers until she came like a thunderstorm.

She threw her head back when he lazily pushed her panties to the side and began toying with her sensitive bud.

He groaned. "So you see, I do not have to lie to break you. In fact, all I need to do is tell you the truth." He seethed, and with that, let go of her completely to pick up the paper from the floor.

Her face fell as she fell off her high horse.

And goddess, embarrassment slammed into her when with a nonchalant shrug, he stuffed her acceptance letter into her hand and opened his drawer to pull out a brand new phone which he also shoved into her hands.

"You asked for two things..." he said coldly, his eyes on her face. "Here are the two things."

Tears of shame filled her eyes almost instantly but refusing to let them drop, she lowered her eyes and shrank deeper into herself. However, before she could respond to Draven, he beat her to it. He snapped;

"I have allies everywhere, little murderer, and can do things mere people like you would deem impossible. So fly away with your newly acquired scholarship into NYU and continue to be the doting wife you are supposed to be."

He finished by patting her face gently and that in itself made her feel even more embarrassed than she already was. Then he turned away from her and left the room, leaving her still perched on his desk, feeling shame and anger all at once.

She cast one last long glance at the paper in her hands, and after realizing that it was indeed from NYU, her face paled.

She closed her eyes and sighed under her breath, her body still thrumming with residues of her semi-make-out session with Draven as she hissed;

"Damn you, bastard."
