Chapter 67: 67-Need her (5)

"Blood heir," Kayden’s voice sounded on the other side of the door. "Primrose is asking everyone to be well fed and outside the door in five."

Varitreya turned around and started to unbutton her blazer to change. Her fingers moved swiftly.

Maisa stood there, still frozen in the lingering warmth. She didn’t move for a long time.

Her blazer hit the floor, and having immediately forgotten the company in the lounge, she stripped her shirt too. Just then, Maisa looked up.

Her eyes froze on the flawless skin always hidden beneath those white blazers. They linger there for several minutes.

For the first time, she truly sees Varitreya as a young woman and notices the curves by either side of her waist. They look more beautiful than that of models.

Her white hair spilt freely over her shoulders, stark and luminous against the simple pink bra top she wore.

In the absence of the carefully arranged uniforms, polished posture, and regal elegance she usually carried like armour, she looked almost unreal. 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ

She looked less like the untouchable princess everyone admired and more like a beautiful vampire caught in a rare and unguarded moment.

Somehow, the absence of that perfectly put-together princess image only made her beauty more dazzling. Maisa swallowed.

Without realizing it, her feet carried her forward until she found herself standing directly behind Varitreya. Her hand lifted almost of its own accord, hesitating for only a heartbeat before her fingertips brushed against the flawless curve of her waist.

The warmth beneath her touch was startlingly smooth and unreal like jade.

Maisa could feel the subtle rise and fall of Varitreya’s breathing, and the simple contact sent an inexplicable tingle through Maisa, leaving her momentarily captivated by the softness beneath her fingertips.

Her finger traced the delicate curve of Varitreya’s waist slowly, almost hesitantly as though committing the shape to her memory.

The simple touch sent a shiver through her, and she found herself holding her breath, suddenly aware of how little distance remained between them. "Varitreya," she whispered.

The moment Varitreya’s skin was touched, her cold skin heats up, like it was coming alive and no longer undead as a vampire should be and to her, the new feeling brings a throbbing heat to her belly.

She grabs Maisa’s hand without turning, flips Maisa over her own body and onto the sofa before flipping herself and lands ontop of Maisa without harming Maisa or putting much weight on her, all her moves are effortless.

She asks Maisa, "By touching me, are you courting death or trying to provoke me?"

Maisa trembled, revealing just how tense she was, yet those words sent a rush of heat through her body.

Her ears began to buzz, drowning out every other sound around her. For several long seconds, her mind went completely blank, as though someone had reached inside her head and swept away every coherent thought.

Then came a strange sensation; new, unfamiliar, and almost frightening in its intensity. Something inside her seemed to stir, tugging at the edges of her restraint.

It felt as though she were standing dangerously close to losing control, yet she couldn’t understand what exactly she was losing control of. Her body? Her emotions? Or something deeper within her that she hadn’t even known existed?

Her heartbeat pounded wildly, threatening to leap from her throat and dash. The grip on Varitreya’s hand tightened abruptly.

Her pair of dark red eyes met Varitreya’s intense white eyes that were starting to turn crimson. Something that Maisa had noticed, the princess, or even the queen, when they felt something intensely, their eyes turned crimson.

Varitreya’s sharp jawline hung dangerously close to her face. Her body heat seeps to Maisa in gentle waves. Her hot breath fans Maisa’s now flushed cheeks, smelling intoxicatingly like dark mist, roses, and blood.

Ba-thump. Ba-thump. Ba-thump.

Her heart hammered wildly against her ribs, each beat loud and erratic enough to make her chest ache. A wave of goosebumps swept across her skin, raising every tiny hair along her arms and neck.

She swallowed hard, suddenly far too aware of her own body and of the unfamiliar presence laying so close to her, right above her.

Thinking about a possible relationship with the princess, she couldn’t help imagining how much their story would resemble a twisted version of Cinderella: a commoner unexpectedly falling for a princess, except in her tale, the charming prince would be a woman.

It sounded almost too perfect, too much like something written in a fairytale book. But fairytales were meant for stories, not real life. Princes and princesses didn’t simply fall in love with ordinary girls, and happily-ever-afters weren’t something she could afford to believe in.

"How dare daze off in my presence?" Varitreya scolds, seeing her lost in thoughts.

Maisa’s hands were sweating and gripping at Varitreya’s arms tight, nails digging into her flawless skin, marking it. Her muscles were stiff with panic.

She was trapped under Varitreya like a helpless little doll. A violent shiver shot straight down to her toes.

Varitreya wrapped her slender but strong fingers around her neck, but this time, she didn’t choke as before, it’s tight but gentle.

She pressed her face down, her lips brushing against Maisa’s sensitive earlobe. Heat vibrated straight down Maisa’s spine. "Am I so boring that you can afford to zone out in my presence?"

"No... no..."

Varitreya pulled back, her eyes met Maisa’s and lower slowly down to redblood’s lips, and the naked desire in her eyes made Maisa’s blood boil.

Thinking of Maisa kissing her to get Kayden to leave the room. She decides to settle the score, and she kisses her back.

For one suspended heartbeat, neither of them moved. Then their lips met, tentative at first, as though both were testing the boundary they knew they shouldn’t cross.

The hesitation lasted only a second before the kiss deepened, charged with every unspoken feeling of the zing and the slow attraction burning between them.

Maisa’s breath caught as the princess leaned closer, their warmth mingling in the narrow space between them. The touch was soft, yet it sent a rush through her that made her forget where they were, who they were, and every reason they were supposed to stay apart from one another.

When they finally pulled back, it was barely enough to breathe. Their foreheads remained almost touching, their breaths were uneven, their eyes locked in a silence far more dangerous than words.

The realization settled between them like a terrifying truth that they couldn’t deny. They had crossed a line that could never be uncrossed. It wasn’t supposed to happen, and yet the burning warmth of the kiss made pretending otherwise almost impossible.

For those few stolen seconds, the princess hadn’t been royalty, and Maisa hadn’t been a redblood. They were just two vampires, under the night, who were sharing a passionate kiss.

Her lips part in a desperate rush to get some air. An airy moan escapes her lips, "Aaah..."

The sensation of the kiss still lingered, and it gets Maisa’s heart beating so loud and the bond pulsing so intently as the kiss counts as confirmed acceptance of the bond by Varitreya.

Varitreya’s free hand slowly moves down. They settle softly above her knee before sliding up under her skirt. Her fingers slowly rubbed the outside of Maisa’s thighs.

"Aah," Maisa draws a sharp breath as Varitreya’s fingers move in a lazy, hypnotic pattern on her skin.

She can feel the intense blistering heat raid from her palm and into her skin. It was burning right through her thin clothes. "Aah," a soft involuntary moan slips past her lips.

"Fuck!" Varitreya curses violently under her breath. Her nose brushes the delicate column of Maisa’s neck. She inhales the scent of Maisa deeply and then she presses her fingers harder into Maisa’s flesh.

Maisa tenses. "Vari..."

Working the tight tense muscles with brutal precision. "You enjoying yourself? Has the pain passed?" She asked in a low gravelly and dangerously quiet voice.

"Yes," she mumbled blankly. Feeling sudden heat flood her embarrassed cheeks.

Varitreya leaned her face dangerously close to the center of her heart, where the flower of fate pulse strongly. Her long fingers slowly tightened around Maisa’s hips.

Her nails digging into the crease of her inner thigh. "Goodness, princess," Maisa leaned her head back and lifted her hip, "Aah," she moaned breathlessly as pleasure unwinds through her entire body.

Maisa, she leaned forward into her firm and demanding body, yearning for more of her touch. Her breathing became heavy, ragged and titling even. Every inch of her burning body becomes hyper aware of every inch of Varitreya’s.

Varitreya buries her face deep into that spot, kissing and licking against the flower mark. Maisa’s skin tingled with pure electricity. Her soft lips brush aggressively against the glowing petals.

Being a vampire makes every sensation inside her explode ten times more. She releases heavy breaths, closing her eyes and clings to the soft and warm feel of Varitreya’s tongue against her skin.

Varitreya pulled back and got off her. "Ah?" She whispered pathetically at the instant loss of the blistering heat.

She takes several jagged deep breaths, "Professor Primrose must be waiting. I should get changed," she spoke. It sounded like she was struggling to regain her composure.

Maisa nods but wishes the moment would’ve lasted longer. Her heart is still pounding loudly.

It was the first time she felt like that in her life, either as a human or vampire. It was the first time she was feeling attracted to someone, and it had to be the one person so close yet so far out of her reach.
