All thousand people have different auras, but each one was like a mountain pressing on him even though they weren’t trying anything.

Their presence alone created such heavy and terrifying pressure that an ordinary bloodline awakener’s mind might get crushed just by entering the Bloodline Hall.

These thousand or so were all beings that surpassed the transformation realm and were the important figures of the City of Blood.

Max also felt pressured, but his mind was stronger, and the power of the blood dragon within him seemed agitated, as if its majesty was being challenged; with a roar of dragon within him, he felt the invisible pressure around him disappear.

He seemed to break free from the mental pressure, which everyone noticed, and they reacted differently. Some were surprised; some were calm, as this was expected of that bloodline.

And the fact that Max could resist the pressure of nearly a thousand powerful figures provided the gathered crowd with their first confirmation.

The young man standing before them should truly possess the bloodline of the Bloodfield Family.

He was the returning Young Master of the Bloodfield Family—and the future Young Lord of the City of Blood.

After taking a deep breath, Max continued forward, walking straight towards the altar at the front of the hall. A massive statue of a goddess stood upon the stage, and beneath it rested a small blood crystal. An elderly figure resembling a cardinal stood besides it.

He stepped calmly onto the stage and came right in front of the cardinal and looked at the people sitting in the front. Without doubt, they were the most important figures within the City of Blood.

But he didn’t know anyone or could guess who they were; their aura was unfathomable. Although he didn’t see his ancestor, the City Lord.

He even noticed Aron, but he was sitting in the second row just behind the first one. After looking at this, he quickly glanced at the old cardinal, who was completely different from others, as he didn’t seem to radiate any aura but gave an aura like a kind old man without any power.

But he knew usually the ones like this are more terrifying than others. He didn’t have to wait any longer, as the old cardinal said first.

“Let the Bloodline Ritual begin.” As he said that, his aura changed, and an entirely different kind of aura seemed to come out of him. It was neither the bloodline power nor the spiritual power of spiritual awakeners, but something different and divine.

The goddess statue standing tall also started to show movements as the eyes of the goddess statue started glowing with white light.

The entire platform and the altar seemed to turn silver, with different symbols glowing brightly.

“Come, Child, place a drop of your blood on the crystal.”

The old cardinal’s voice was gentle and caring, as though he were guiding a child through an ordinary ritual rather than presiding over a ceremony attended by nearly a thousand powerful figures.

Max nodded and slowly approached the centre of the altar, stopping directly in front of the blood crystal.

The blood crystal seemed like nothing special, but he didn’t hesitate and quickly dropped a drop of his blood.

Drip…

First for a moment, nothing happened, and he felt a bit anxious as he didn’t know what would happen next, but then suddenly the blood crystal glowed with eye-blinding, bright bloody light.

Boom!

The entire altar seemed to tremble, then the entire bloodline hall seemed to shake, and a terrifying, ancient and powerful aura burst out from the altar. And then a dragon roar came out from the blood crystal.

The bloody aura enveloped everyone within the Bloodline Hall, and immediately everyone’s eyes widened in shock as, no matter what their strength was, they felt their blood suppressed.

A hint of shock appeared on many faces, as this was the first time they felt the terrifying power of the true bloodline power of the ancient Bloodfield family.

They all also understood that the Bloodfield family that had remained silent for a long time might change with the appearance of this young master.

After the dragon roar, the bloody aura seemed to envelop Max and then silently disappeared within him.

Max was shocked to see this, but he didn’t feel anything until the bloody aura completely disappeared.

The divine aura of the goddess statue also disappeared, and everything seemed to be returning to normal.

The old cardinal looked at Max with a solemn expression. Then, in a voice that echoed throughout the Bloodline Hall, he announced:

“Max Bloodfield, you have been recognised by the will of the Bloodfield ancestors and witnessed by Goddess Ethos. You shall protect this land in the future and bring honour to the Bloodfield Family.”

He paused briefly before continuing in an authoritative voice.

“From this day onward, you are officially recognised as a member of the Bloodfield Family!”

As his voice echoed, Max felt the weight on his mind disappear, and a smile appeared on his face. It seems he had finally crossed the first hurdle.

Everyone looked at the standing Max, as they knew from now on a new faction may rise within the City of Blood. And with the backing of the City Lord, no one dared to underestimate him.

After a while, everyone left, as they had to prepare for the change that might come with the arrival of Max.

“Good luck, young man,” Cardinal said lastly, looking at Max, and then he left.

Max, before leaving, looked at the blood crystal and then the goddess statue and then finally came out of the Bloodline Hall, where his carriage was already waiting for him. But as he left, what he didn’t notice was that both the blood crystal and the eyes of the goddess shone with a bit of black aura for a second.

He didn’t wait and quickly climbed inside the carriage to return to his manor. After some time, he returned to his manor, but this time his manor seemed to have changed, as quite a few servants gathered and were waiting for him outside.

Max wasn’t particularly surprised.

A manor as large as his naturally required numerous servants to maintain it. Besides, given his newly recognised status as the Young Master of the Bloodfield Family, it was only natural that more people would be assigned to serve him.

As he stepped down from the carriage, Nessa hurried forward to greet him.

“Master, someone is waiting for you.”
