Chapter 393: Battle of Patience - Final Part

  • Next Chapter

The guards were shaking in their boots.

This... hulking man in front of them just effortlessly ran through the wall that had protected this city for hundreds of years.

"Blood bags!"

Rasmus grinned, and his large back opened up, and more blood tendrils slithered out like snakes out of a bag.

"FIRE!"

The chief guard raised his sword and shouted.

Arrows were released from their bows, and they blackened the sky like a storm of locusts, and they arched through the air towards the monster.

Rasmus only grinned.

The arrows hit him, but they bounced off his tough skin, as if it were made of rubber, and fell harmlessly to the ground.

"Your pathetic local arrows cannot hurt me."

Rasmus said coldly.

Then.

His blood tendrils shot out towards the locals—they kept stretching like snakes—the mouth of the tendrils looked like the mouth of a sandworm.

A disgusting sight to behold.

In that moment.

A flash of red ran past Rasmus, and each and every single one of the blood tendrils suddenly got cut—before they managed to suck any blood.

"Argh!"

Rasmus gritted his teeth and looked at the man in front of him—it was Graham—the man who was really starting to piss him off.

Flap~! Flap~!

At that moment.

Xiao Yue appeared in the air above him. Her wings kept her afloat. She looked straight down with her blood-red eyes of a demon queen.

"Your power is vanishing from your system, Rasmus. You do not have anyone’s blood to suck either. It’s over."

She said.

Rasmus’ eyebrow twitched.

He looked for the guards, whom he could suck some blood from, but saw that they had all suddenly vanished.

They all ran off!

’Cursed!’

Rasmus thought.

His health was low. He was getting weaker with each passing second.

It was like he was a faucet, slightly leaking, and each water drop was a piece of his strength leaving him.

"You all have forgotten one thing... I am Ranger."

Rasmus reached out his hand towards empty air next to him, and at that moment, a larger bow appeared on his hand.

It wasn’t the bow that he had used before, but this seemed to be slightly modified to fit his taller self.

This bow was rare—Machellan Bow—that was once wielded by the legendary archer, Machellan, who was also over three meters tall.

This bow couldn’t be used just by anybody.

It was too big for an ordinary human to carry, and this was also the first time that Rasmus had a chance to use it.

He could only use it in his current state.

"The bow of the darkest night. Holding the blood and rage of the crimson moon. Dread, dread, dread... Dark Knight has come knocking..."

Rasmus raised his hand towards the heavens, and at that moment, his forearm slit open—like it was cut open by a surgery knife.

The blood came out. It looked like something was controlling the blood. It wasn’t just pouring and spilling out.

The blood slowly transformed into a long arrow.

"The arrow of darkest blood."

Rasmus grabbed it, put it on the string of the Machellan Bow, and then pulled the string all the way back.

It took all of his strength to pull the string.

His muscles were straining—the bow kept creaking—as if the bow was also at the verge of being destroyed!

"GET OUT OF THE WAY!"

Xiao Yue shouted.

She didn’t only shout that towards Graham, but also towards everyone in the city, because she could feel the air shifting.

That arrow was an arrow of destruction—it was going to destroy the city—the only hope was to just pray that it missed you.

"It’s too late."

Rasmus said.

The sky turned crimson-red. As if the sky was also bleeding. All the animals escaped into the sewers.

Locals and players—who were stuck in the city—were going indoors and to the furthest corners of the city.

But it was not going to be enough.

"Death of the crimson night."

Rasmus said coldly, and he was about to release the arrow, but in that moment, a young man landed in front of him.

He had black hair. Bright blue eyes. A face that did not show a single flicker of fear.

"Raon, what are you doing?!"

Xiao Yue screamed with a horrified look.

The streaming camera appeared next to her. Pointing towards Fang Raon below. The chat was going fast.

[Viewers: 2,456]

People had started to learn about what was going on on the 18th floor and that there was someone streaming it all.

That one was Fang Raon.

[LadyBelle: What are you doing!]

[Marquise: This is not a time to show off! You’re just getting yourself killed!]

"Haha, you want to die first? Very well then."

Rasmus smirked, and at that moment, he released the arrow of the darkest blood from its string.

The string thrummed as the arrow flew straight towards Fang Raon.

"..."

Fang Raon moved his sword at the same time.

Blackest Blade versus Arrow of the Darkest Blood.

In that moment, the Blackest Blade touched the tip of the arrow.

Fang Raon said nothing.

He didn’t do any activation word. He wasn’t using any skill. In this moment, he decided not to rely on the powers of Aurel’s Legacy.

Fang Raon was only using his own skill.

The arrow got knocked back by the sword. It headed straight back for Rasmus. His eyes widened in shock.

SPURT~!

The arrow stabbed through his skull!

"Uh... ugh... ahh..."

Rasmus collapsed to the ground—a pool of blood appeared all around him—he kept twitching, but then he stopped moving.

[You have killed Rasmus Seider!]

"..."

Fang Raon looked at the black blade in front of him, and then he slowly pulled it back and slid it back into its sheath.

The crimson sky vanished. Beautiful sun appeared among the clouds. The Orb of the Doomsday disappeared.

It returned back to normal.

"..."

Graham looked at Fang Raon with wide eyes, as he had no idea what he just did, as what he just did was impossible!

"Perfect Parry... In such a situation... If he hadn’t just performed Perfect Parry, he would’ve died without a doubt.

"...How can he achieve something that perfect in such a situation?"

Xiao Yue’s eyes shook.

She had rarely been impressed, and she had been hanging out with the strongest players in Black Online for the longest time.

Now.

She was truly impressed, and her admiration towards him grew.
