Chapter 52: Chapter 52: Heavenly Sword

That night was a little chaotic.

Although Yizhou did not really need to sleep, he still habitually closed his eyes in order to rest, his mind filled with various thoughts. Unexpectedly, in the middle of the night, he was awakened by a warm body rubbing against him.

When he opened his eyes, he saw that Sui Sui, who had initially been sleeping quite obediently, was now clinging to him like an octopus with eight tentacles.

Sui Sui was a restless sleeper. Even after settling comfortably against Yizhou, he continued to fidget in his sleep, shifting around without any awareness of what he was doing.

During one of his movements, he accidentally rubbed against a certain sensitive spot on Yizhou’s lower body, which had only just settled down. The unexpected contact immediately elicited a slight reaction.

The thing that Yizhou had just finished suppressing earlier finally stood up again, and this caused his body to grow warmer and warmer. Sensing the increasing heat, Sui Sui instinctively pressed closer, his arms tightening around Yizhou as though reluctant to let go of such a comfortable source of warmth.

Yizhou’s expression changed.

This fool was really testing his patience.

Fortunately, Yizhou’s willpower was extraordinary. Otherwise, something embarrassing might have happened.

He forcibly suppressed the reaction in his body and quickly reached out and restrained Sui Sui’s restless body, stopping him from moving around any further.

Perhaps finally finding a comfortable position, Sui Sui obediently settled down, his lips forming a small pout as he sank into a deeper sleep.

But after that, sleep was no longer an option for Yizhou. With his eyes open, he could only lie there and stare at the soundly sleeping Sui Sui for most of the night.

This time Sui Sui had truly invaded Yizhou’s personal space.

The next morning, when Sui Sui opened his eyes, the first thing he saw was an exceptionally handsome face.

He was still half-asleep, so for a moment, his mind did not quite register what he was seeing. His first thought was simply that the face was so beautiful that perhaps he had somehow ended up in heaven.

Then reality slowly sank in.

Sui Sui’s eyes widened.

He almost jumped out of bed in fright, but fortunately, he stopped himself just in time. Otherwise, he would have definitely woken the person sleeping right in front of him.

What was this?

What had happened?

How had the two of them ended up sleeping this close together?

Sui Sui carefully glanced down and quickly realized that he was the one who had invaded Yizhou’s space.

Oh no.

How could this have happened?

This was so embarrassing. He had clearly placed pillows between them before going to sleep, yet somehow, those pillows had completely failed to serve their purpose. And the worst part was that it seemed he was the one who had taken the initiative to crawl over.

Sui Sui covered his face with both hands, wishing he could simply disappear into the ground.

Fortunately, Yizhou still seemed to be asleep.

If that was the case, then perhaps he could still salvage the situation.

He just had to quietly slip away and pretend that none of this had ever happened.

The problem was figuring out how to leave without waking Yizhou. Their bodies were practically glued together from how closely they had been sleeping.

Sui Sui carefully began by removing Yizhou’s arm from around his waist. It took a bit of effort, but he finally managed to free himself. He then planned to slowly slide out from beneath the blanket.

However, as he shifted downward, his hand accidentally brushed against something beneath the blanket.

He froze.

The object was thick, hard, and somewhat long, almost like the hilt of a sword.

What was this?

Sui Sui’s eyes widened.

Don’t tell me Yizhou had actually slept with his sword in the bed?

Wasn’t that dangerous?

Was Yizhou really so paranoid that he needed to keep his sword beside him even while sleeping? What if he accidentally stabbed himself in his sleep?

Sui Sui’s first thought was to move the object out of the way since it was blocking his escape. However, the moment he finally grasped the long object, he sensed that something was wrong.

Why did this sword feel different?

And why was it so warm?

Confused, Sui Sui gave it a light squeeze.

Before he could figure out what was happening, a hand suddenly closed around his wrist.

Yizhou had noticed the moment Sui Sui woke up. Although his eyes remained closed, he was not at all asleep. He had deliberately stayed still, wanting to see what Sui Sui intended to do.

He simply hadn’t expected the fool to actually have the guts to go this far.

Yizhou opened his eyes and glared fiercely at Sui Sui, his hand still firmly wrapped around Sui Sui’s wrist. He did not loosen his grip in the slightest.

"Bai Sui Sui, just try moving that hand again." His voice was low and hoarse, carrying the weight of a warning.

Sui Sui immediately froze. He didn’t dare move another inch and could only shrink back nervously. "I-I... why are you awake?"

"Why do you think so?" Yizhou replied, his voice was husky from just waking up, yet there was something faintly sinister about his tone that made Sui Sui’s heart tremble.

Sui Sui shivered. Since Yizhou was still holding his wrist, he had completely forgotten to let go of the thing in his other hand.

Then he finally noticed what he was holding.

His gaze slowly lowered, and the realization struck him like a bolt of lightning. The "sword" he had been holding was standing stiffly beneath Yizhou’s clothes, so prominent that it looked almost as though it might pierce straight through the fabric.

Sui Sui’s eyes widened and he immediately released it as if he had been burned.

The moment he realized what that stiff, hard object actually was, his entire face turned bright red. Even his ears and neck were flushed crimson.

This... this was really too horrifying!

Morning vigor was a perfectly normal physiological reaction for a man, but that did absolutely nothing to ease Sui Sui’s embarrassment.

"I didn’t expect my junior brother to be so eager this early in the morning," Yizhou said. His voice was low and husky, with a lazy, almost seductive quality that made the teasing in his words even more pronounced.

"T-t-this is a misunderstanding! I’m sorry, Senior Brother, I really didn’t mean to!" Sui Sui stammered, his face turning even redder.

He instinctively wanted to cover his face with his hands, but then he remembered where those hands had just been. His fingers immediately froze, and he could only awkwardly leave them where they were, forced to meet Yizhou’s amused gaze.

"Oh, really?" Yizhou raised an eyebrow, clearly unconvinced.

Sui Sui opened his mouth but found himself completely unable to explain.

He had been caught red-handed holding something that definitely wasn’t Yizhou’s sword. He could still remember the strange warmth and firmness beneath his palm, and the fact that he had even squeezed it made him want to disappear on the spot.

In the original novel, such details had barely been mentioned. There had only been a few intimate scenes involving the protagonist, but as the male lead, Yizhou’s... physique was definitely extraordinary, especially his Heavenly Sword ah.

Sui Sui’s thoughts began to wander further and further until Yizhou’s voice pulled him back.

Yizhou lifted his chin slightly, a hint of amusement in his eyes. "What? Can’t explain?"

Sui Sui looked utterly devastated. "Uhhh... it might not sound believable, but I really didn’t mean to! I thought it was your sword—"

He suddenly stopped on his words, calling it a sword probably wasn’t quite appropriate. It was indeed Yizhou’s sword, just... not the kind of sword he had initially thought it was.

"—uh, your weapon! I thought it was your weapon, so I wanted to move it out of the way. You have to believe me! I really didn’t mean to molest you!" Sui Sui hurriedly explained, his voice growing more frantic with every word. He looked as though he was about to cry from embarrassment.

Sui Sui kept his head lowered, completely unaware of the smile spreading across Yizhou’s face.

Where was the anger he had been expecting? There wasn’t any.

In fact, Yizhou was thoroughly enjoying the sight of Sui Sui panicking in front of him. Naturally, he had no intention of letting him off so easily.

He deliberately cleared his throat, suppressing the amusement in his voice. "Don’t think a simple apology will make this matter go away. However, I can forgive you"

"Really? How?" Sui Sui eagerly chimed in. After all, he was the one in the wrong.

A devious glint flashed across Yizhou’s eyes. "As long as you owe me another favor."

Sui Sui hesitated for a moment before reluctantly agreeing. Seeing that he had once again managed to make Sui Sui owe him a favor, Yizhou’s mood improved considerably.

As for what favor he would ask for later, he would have to think about it carefully. There was no need to decide just yet.

With that, the embarrassing incident finally came to an end.

The two of them quickly got ready and went downstairs. Yizhou had occupied the bathing room for quite a while, so by the time they finally reached the hotel’s first floor, it was already getting busier.

As they walked in, Sui Sui once again spotted the group from Vermillion Moon Palace.

Recognizing Luo Qingya among them, he immediately greeted her with a smile. "Hello, Sister Qingya. Good morning."

Luo Qingya heard the familiar voice and turned around to greet him, but the moment she saw Sui Sui, she paused.

Sui Sui was wearing his usual white robes, but what immediately caught her attention were the patches of red scattered across his neck. At first, most of them were hidden beneath his collar and hair. However, whenever a breeze shifted his hair or his robes moved slightly, the marks became particularly conspicuous against his fair skin and pristine white clothing.

Luo Qingya’s gaze lingered for a moment before drifting toward Yizhou, who was walking behind Sui Sui.

Yizhou seemed to notice her gaze as well. When their eyes met, he merely smiled.

Luo Qingya’s eyes widened slightly and suddenly, everything clicked.

So that was it.

She had initially assumed the two were simply close senior brother and junior brother duo. But judging from the marks on Sui Sui’s neck and Yizhou’s reaction, their relationship was clearly more than that.

So they had that kind of relationship.

That also explained why Yizhou had been so willing to give up his room and sleep together with Sui Sui. It seemed the two were already accustomed to such closeness.

Although Luo Qingya had no intention of meddling in their affairs, she still kindly reminded Sui Sui to cover his neck, lest someone else notice the marks.

With that, she and the rest of her group continued on their way.

Sui Sui was left staring after her in confusion.

What was wrong with his neck?

He quickly took out a small mirror from his storage pouch and looked at his reflection.

The moment he saw the patches of red scattered across his neck, he froze.

Where had these come from?

Then, as if struck by lightning, he suddenly remembered Yizhou’s actions from the previous night—the biting and sucking around his neck.

It all clicked.

This... this was simply too embarrassing!

Sui Sui’s face immediately heated up. He hurriedly pulled a fur coat from his storage pouch, choosing one with a high collar that completely covered his neck.

It seems this day was bound to be a day where he would be throughly shamed.

For the rest of the way, he kept his head lowered, occasionally shooting an accusing glare at Yizhou.

It was all his fault for leaving him with such an embarrassing mess!
