Chapter 28: Chapter 28: The Desert of Endless Snow

"By the way, here take this" from the side of the bed, Yizhou took out a jade box, Sui Sui took it in his hands, it wasn’t that heavy, he didn’t know what was inside.

"This is?" Sui Sui asked.

"Isn’t this the thing you asked for?" Yizhou said nonchalantly. Sui Sui’s eyes widened, and the grip on the jade box instantly became more careful, if he wasn’t mistaken, then the thing inside should be the Frost Lotus he was looking for.

"I can’t believe you really found it" Sui Sui said, shocked.

"Of course, who am I? If I make a deal with someone, I will make sure I complete it" Yizhou said with a fake righteous tone.

"Fine, thank you senior brother" Sui Sui said, half irritated and sincere.

"When are you gonna start refining the blood lotus?" Yizhou asked, Sui Sui thought that Yizhou really did know everything, he even knew about the Blood Lotus. Okay fine, the protagonist was someone who has been reborn, he simply cannot compare.

"The book said I can do the ritual as soon as I get the Frost Lotus, just feed it my blood without stop until it fully absorbs and I can directly consume it after" Sui Sui explained his plan, Yizhou understood the key points.

"Where are you going to do the ritual, don’t tell me you’re planning to just do it here?" Yizhou said, Sui Sui closed his mouth, that was indeed his initial plan.

Looking at Sui Sui’s expression, Yizhou already guessed that he was right "Junior brother, you don’t really think that unblocking the meridians of someone with extreme yin constitution will only be a small matter right? If you do it here, I assure you it wouldn’t even be a few seconds before everyone knows, do you want your physique to be revealed this early?" Yizhou said, as if looking at Sui Sui like he was a stupid person.

Thinking of how most of the people with extreme yin constitution fared in the history of Tiānqióng, most of them were either used as nourishment for their blood, body cut into pieces to be refined as pills or was abused as a furnace for dual cultivation, either options were terrible, compared to those, being Yizhou’s personal blood bank wasn’t that bad.

"Then what does senior brother propose I do?"

After Yizhou returned to the sect pretending to be injured, the entire sect was once again thrown into an uproar. Like everyone else, he was questioned about what had happened and where he had been for the past few months.

Yizhou explained that he had accidentally stumbled into a secret formation and had been trapped there for quite some time before finally managing to escape. The elders thoroughly questioned him about the formation and whether there had been any treasures inside.

To avoid arousing suspicion and discourage anyone from investigating further, Yizhou took out a few high-level herbs, claiming they were all he had obtained from within the formation. Since high-level herbs were already considered extremely rare, producing even a few of them was enough to satisfy most people.

Seeing him willingly hand them over, the old foggies of the sect were more than pleased.

Yizhou was also summoned by his master, Venerable Yuxin.

Truthfully, the master and disciple were not particularly close, so they did not exchange many words. After confirming that Yizhou had returned safe and sound, Venerable Yuxin simply commended him for surviving the ordeal.

As for the missing Soul Bell, there was nothing they could do about it now. There was still no news of the demonic cultivator who had attacked them either.

After all the commotion, everything gradually settled down over the following week. At most, the incident only caused the cultivation world to become more vigilant.

Right now, Sui Sui was packing his belongings, preparing for a long journey. This time, he would be traveling to the Northern Region with Yizhou, specifically back to the cave they had discovered.

According to Yizhou, the cave was extremely secluded thanks to the formation barrier surrounding it, making it the perfect place for Sui Sui to unblock his meridians. Besides, there were still plenty of spirit gems and high-level herbs left inside that Yizhou had yet to harvest after running out of jade boxes. Since they had to return anyway, they might as well collect everything at the same time.

After packing up, Sui Sui sent a message to his brother, informing him that he would be leaving the sect to seek opportunities outside.

At the moment, Bai Suichen was still away on a mission. Upon hearing the news, he was naturally worried about Sui Sui traveling alone. However, after learning that Yizhou would be accompanying him, he was finally able to relax.

Sui Sui also subtly mentioned that Yizhou had found something that might help resolve his waste constitution, allowing him to finally begin cultivating. Since it would become known sooner or later anyway, he figured it was better to give his family a heads-up first.

The news immediately made Bai Suichen ecstatic.

"Is this really true? Junior Brother Yizhou is really willing to help you?" Bai Suichen asked excitedly through the communication talisman.

"Yes, yes. Actually, I figured it out myself and only asked Senior Brother Yizhou to help me obtain the things I needed. However, I won’t go into the details for now," Sui Sui replied seriously.

"Alright, I won’t ask any more questions for now. Just be careful, and remember to update Mother and Father about your situation as well so they won’t worry too much," Bai Suichen said.

"Okay, Brother."

After chatting for a little while longer, the two brothers ended their conversation.

Sui Sui knew his current situation must seem suspicious in Bai Suichen’s eyes. After all, the Bai family had spent years searching for a way to resolve his waste constitution and had found nothing. The only reason Sui Sui knew the correct direction was because of the novel, but Bai Suichen didn’t know that. All he could do was trust his younger brother’s judgment.

After informing both his brother and his family, Sui Sui went to request leave from the sect. He also bid farewell to Senior Brother Ji and Elder Jingyan, saying that he would be returning home for a while.

"Is that so? Then take good care of yourself, Junior Brother Sui," Ji Ling said. There was a hint of reluctance in his eyes, clearly disappointed that this newly recruited junior brother was leaving again so soon.

"Don’t worry, Senior Brother. I’ll be back soon, okay?" Sui Sui said with a smile before bidding everyone farewell.

Afterward, he descended the mountain aboard one of the sect’s flying beasts. Although flying artifacts and spirit beasts were prohibited when ascending the mountain, the rules were much more relaxed when leaving the sect.

To avoid arousing suspicion, Sui Sui and Yizhou didn’t leave the sect together. Yizhou had gone down the mountain three days earlier, while Sui Sui only departed three days later. This way, when Sui Sui eventually returned able to cultivate, people wouldn’t immediately connect it to Yizhou or start investigating the treasures hidden inside the cave.

When Sui Sui reached the foot of the mountain, he headed to the nearest town, Lingfeng Town. After asking around for a place called Fú Lái Pavilion, he was directed to the largest inn and restaurant in town.

As soon as he entered, a staff member greeted him. After Sui Sui gave his name and mentioned that he was meeting someone, the staff member led him to a private dining room.

When he stepped inside, someone was already waiting for him.

At first glance, Sui Sui thought it was Yizhou. However, after taking a closer look, he realized it was an unfamiliar man.

The man calmly sipped his tea as though he had been expecting Sui Sui’s arrival all along.

"Junior Brother, why don’t you have a seat first?" the man said, gesturing toward the chair across from him.

The familiar voice immediately gave him away.

"Senior Brother Yizhou?"

Yizhou smiled faintly.

"Senior Brother Yizhou, why are you wearing a disguise?" Sui Sui asked curiously. However, he regretted asking the moment the words left his mouth. If they were traveling together, disguising themselves would obviously make it much easier to move around unnoticed.

"...Never mind, I already know the answer."

Hearing his own junior brother answer his own question, Yizhou let out a quiet chuckle, clearly amused by Sui Sui’s momentary lapse in judgment.

"It’s good that you know. You should change your appearance as well. It’ll make things much easier for us," Yizhou said before taking another sip of tea.

"How do I change, though?" Sui Sui asked, tilting his head curiously.

The next second, Yizhou gestured for Sui Sui to come closer. As soon as he did, Yizhou took his wrist and gently pulled him closer before removing his veiled hat. He quietly chanted an incantation, and in the blink of an eye, Sui Sui’s snowy white hair turned black while his pink eyes darkened to match.

Noticing the change, Sui Sui took a mirror out of his storage pouch and examined his new appearance. It was still the same face, only the color of his hair and eyes had changed.

So this was how he would have looked if he hadn’t been born with albinism. It almost felt like he was looking at a completely different person.

"For now, this should suffice. Although I think your original appearance is much better, your hair and eyes are your most distinctive features, so changing their color is enough. Just keep wearing your veiled hat," Yizhou explained.

Sui Sui nodded absentmindedly, not even realizing that Yizhou had just complimented his appearance.

After finishing a quick lunch, the two of them departed.

The Northern Region lay at the opposite end of the Human Realm, far from Wenjian Sect in the Southern Region. Even with the aid of an Inter-Region Teleportation Array, the journey still took an entire week. Along the way, they passed through several bustling cities and remote towns, changing transportation whenever necessary. Fortunately, nothing unexpected occurred, and the journey remained unusually peaceful.

The last stop before their destination was Xuánshuāng City, the northernmost frontier city. After spending the night there to rest and replenish their supplies, they departed at dawn.

Before long, they finally arrived at their destination.

The Desert of Endless Snow.
