Chapter 698: A good mattress

  • Next Chapter

"What a hungry man." Lucian murmured. It was said after he’d been extracted from Cass. Long after, actually.

Everyone had been bathed again, the sheets swapped out since Cass had torn them, and now Cass was lying on top of Lucian in bed, Edgar on one side, Gideon on the other. Everyone was touching everyone in some capacity, and it was Cass who had wanted to be naked, pressed against the other men.

The others had offered clothes to him, but Cass had felt...fuck, he felt too sensitive to even wear clothes right now. Emotional, his skin hypersensitive. He couldn’t even handle a sheet on top of him. He’d thrown a damn fit when they’d tried to dress him, breaking down into sobs so bad that they had thought he was hungry again. For human food this time, but that wasn’t the case.

He only wanted to be skin to skin, and to Cass, the only excuse he had was that he was that he’d just gone through two major changes to his body and his body was trying to keep up. His body was exhausted and over stimulated. The only thing that would help calm him was the touch of those he trusted and the heartbeats that he knew were safe. That were his.

Why was Cass so stressed? What had changed?

Cass had grown a tail and horns.

The tail he’d passed out for, which was why he hadn’t felt any pain. The horns? Those had been horrible. Cass could still feel the pounding, throbbing pain in his temples. Saying it was his temples wasn’t quite right. The horns sat slightly farther up than that on his head, exactly in the same place you’d see those stereotypical horn headbands in Halloween stores would sit when you wore them. They weren’t red, which was a small blessing, but they were black. Shiny too, just like the tail.

He looked like a damn demon now, that was for sure. Combined with his heart-shaped eyes, his talons, his thick hips and ass and more supple chest, Cass was turning more and more into a sex demon with every feeding. Cass just hoped that the end would come soon.

Given how things were evolving, Cass could see what the next step was. Did he like the idea? Absolutely not. He felt it was going to be more painful than the damn horns, and given how shaken Lucian had been after Edgar explained what had happened, he didn’t think the man would take well to it if the same situation happened again.

He didn’t particularly like cumming in someone who was in pain. It didn’t make anything easier, and while Lucian could essentially cum on command, everyone had limits. For Lucian, that was Cass in pain. Gideon was much the same in his opinion, and Edgar? Edgar wasn’t an option.

So, they had cleaned each other up, and now they were all emotionally and physically drained. Exhausted even.

"I wasn’t that hungry." Cass had to defend himself. "Not really." He grumbled and Lucian gave a light laugh.

"Well, you might not have been, but certain parts of you were." Lucian tapped Cass’ ass thoughtfully. "You might be sore tomorrow. Let me know if you need anything." Lucian’s voice was soft, gentle.

"Yes, please do. That was a lot, especially after we planned to take it slow." Gideon agreed. His arm was around Cass’ back, resting on Lucian and Cass almost equally. Edgar was a bit different. He’d wrapped himself around Lucian’s side, using him as a headrest as he clung to Cass at the same time. Cass had no idea how that position was comfortable, but he wasn’t about to argue with him if it was working.

"You have a tendency to push yourself, Cass." Edgar sounded like he was scolding Cass and honestly? He deserved it.

Cass sighed, closing his eyes as he nuzzled against Lucian’s chest. Cass’ pillows for the night, and what a set of pillows they were.

"I can’t...argue with that." Cass muttered. "I didn’t...I really did mean to take it slow." Cass said. Gideon’s hand patted his back comfortingly.

"We know, Cass. It’s our fault for also getting caught up in the moment." Gideon said softly. "We should have respected your choices. My apologies, Cass." Hearing Gideon apologise only made Cass feel worse.

"No, I don’t-you don’t need to apologise. If I didn’t want it truly, you’d know." Cass said, meaning it. He turned his head in Gideon’s direction, catching his eyes for a moment and Gideon, the sweet man, was staring at him so softly and sweetly that Cass blushed.

"Thank you for saying that, Cass." He didn’t fully sound like he believed Cass and that only made him more annoyed.

"Whatever. We should sleep." Cass grumbled. He shuffled on Lucian’s chest, curling up more comfortably and Lucian let out a deep purr.

"You like your new mattress?" Lucian asked and Cass sighed.

"I’d like it more if it didn’t speak." Cass told him snarkily. Lucian’s purr grew deeper, louder.

"Mm, I’ll do my best then." Lucian’s hands wandered to Cass’ ass, gripping it, but that was it. Cass should have been annoyed, probably should have smacked him or something, but the longer he held him there, the longer it felt more like he was just grabbing something to anchor himself.

Slowly Cass relaxed, and eventually, he faded off to sleep. Surrounded by the men he cared for and his night filled with dreams of a happy future where he didn’t die.

The next morning was hectic. For one, he did feel sore.

He refused to drink the damn tonic. If Sam wasn’t here, he wasn’t going to fucking do it, no matter how much Edgar and Gideon pleaded. Even Lucian tried to take a crack at Cass, but he wasn’t budging. No matter how much he flexed.

The second issue was his new...limbs? Cass wasn’t exactly sure what to call them, but now, more than ever, he couldn’t move about the mansion. Sunglasses were great, and he could wear a hat, but in the house? The tail was also too long for the pants he would wear, and it did not bend well when it didn’t want to. You couldn’t bend it too much or else Cass howled in pain, tears filling his eyes.

Lucian had felt like a real asshole that he’d tried to force it and was still apologising for it later in the day.

What did that mean for Cass? Well, it meant that he was confined, truly, to his room. The table? That turned into this office. Lucian and Gideon offered to bring in his actual desk but he protested. That would ruin the integrity of his office, and every part of his heart screamed that he couldn’t do that, so they didn’t.

They did bring in another table for Edgar to work at, and the girls were still able to serve him after they signed a contract to not speak about what they saw in Cass’ bedroom.

It wasn’t Cass who insisted this time, it was Edgar. He was serious about it too, and much like Cass with the tonic, he wasn’t budging. Cass did think he was fussing over nothing, but he didn’t argue with him. It was coming from a place of concern, not malice, and the girls signed the contracts easily.

Edgar had commented that it was too easy, but he didn’t argue beyond that.

Once the girls saw the condition that Cass was in, and his cute, tiny horns sticking out from his white hair, along with the swaying tail behind him, seeming to naturally shape into an unfinished heart at all times, they had to excuse themselves to compose themselves.

Cass had no idea why, but Lucian? He had an idea.

He left with them, staying for quite a bit of time, before the girls came back wearing sunglasses instead of Cass.

Apparently, to them, Cass was cute, not hot. They’d nearly had heart attacks because catching sight of Cass had made their hearts swell and their cheeks flush. Lucian had enchanted the sunglasses to help combat that issue, and Cass, clueless as ever, stared at them in confusion.

Cass? Cute?

He’d seen himself in the mirror, of course. Seen what the new Cass looked like. His horns barely peeked out from his white hair, just tiny little things, and his tail? It had been pitch black when it’d shown up, but now the heart-shaped tip was slowly turning a bright red colour. Cass hadn’t seen the demon king have the same kind of appearance, so maybe this was an exclusive thing to succubi. He didn’t know, and it wasn’t like he had an expert to ask. The book only had so much information because the current demon king was a sex demon.

However, it was obvious what the next evolution was. Wings. Fucking bat wings, probably. Not the scaled wings of a dragon, or the feathered wings of a bird, but the fleshy, skin-like wings of bats.

Cass scowled. He was barely making due as it was. He hadn’t made new clothes in a while, waiting, but how the hell did you make clothes for wings? That would be so fucking annoying.

He’d have to get clothes ordered then, and damnit, he hoped that wasn’t the case. He hoped that it was one of those situations where the wings showed up, everyone clapped, and then when he got tired or overfed, all of the new symptoms disappeared. Then they could work on controlling it and maintaining it.

After, of course, when Cass was back to being a wisp of a man. A ghost who haunted the halls. He preferred it that way, even if he did like the extra cushion he had from having a nice ass. It helped with sitting down all day.

Either way, it looked like things were going in the right direction, and with Cass’ heat around the corner, things were lining up perfectly. Cass just needed to push through the next few days of work before his heat and then when it hit he had to relax.

Hopefully, fingers crossed, once the heat was over, Cass would be back in the body he knew and he could start dealing with his grandfather and his schemes in person.

He would just have to put up with this for now, then. And chase Lucian away every time the damn dragon tried to touch his tail. He was as bad as Gideon. Both of the big, strong men seemed fascinated by Cass’ tail and where it was connected to. He could tell he was going to be ambushed several times before it was gone, and damn Edgar.

The man was smirking to himself when he thought Cass didn’t see him.
