Chapter 106: Chapter 106: The Man Who Stole His Heart

~Third- POV~

Frederick scrolled through thread after thread, reading the endless stream of opinions, accusations, and petty debates. A lesser man might have been irritated, but Frederick felt nothing but supreme indifference toward the public’s noise. Their opinions meant less than nothing to him.

He locked his phone and set it down, a quiet smirk on his face.

He stood up from the armchair and walked over to the bed to wake Reynold up for dinner.

As he approached the bed, he found Reynold fast asleep on his side, curled up beneath the thick white duvet. He hugged a large pillow close to his chest, his face buried halfway into it, leaving only a glimpse of his messy blond hair and ear visible. Dressed in a cozy, oversized white sweater, he looked incredibly small and adorable against the soft pillows and rumpled bedding.

Frederick stopped in his tracks, staring down at Reynold as his heart melted completely. He couldn’t resist capturing the moment.

He reached into his pocket, pulled out his phone, and carefully angled it toward the bed before snapping a photo of his sleeping beauty. Looking at the picture on his screen, a proud, tender smile spread across his face.

Without a second thought, Frederick opened his Instagram app. Ignoring the bloggers, viral rumors, and countless followers speculating about their relationship, he uploaded the photo straight to his Instagram Story.

Across the bottom of the photo, he typed a simple caption in crisp white lettering:

"My cute little angel ??"

He added a red heart emoji and a glowing halo, then posted the story for his millions of followers to see. It was a quiet but unmistakable declaration of affection, one that would undoubtedly send his followers into another frenzy.

Locking his phone, Frederick set it on the nightstand before leaning over the bed. He placed a warm hand on Reynold’s shoulder and pressed a gentle kiss to his cheek.

"Wake up, my little angel," Frederick whispered tenderly, his voice rich with affection. "It’s time for dinner."

Reynold stirred slowly, letting out a soft, sleepy hum as the familiar scent of Frederick’s cologne reached him. He shifted out from beneath the heavy pillow, blinking sleepily in the soft glow of the bedside lamp.

Seeing Frederick sitting beside him on the edge of the mattress, Reynold’s lips curved into an automatic, adorable smile. Without saying a word, he reached out, wrapped his arms around Frederick’s waist, and buried his face against his stomach.

"Mmm... Daddy," Reynold murmured, his voice thick with sleep as he snuggled closer. "What time is it?"

Frederick chuckled warmly, immediately running his fingers through the soft, messy curls at the back of Reynold’s head. "It’s almost eight in the evening, sweetheart. You’ve slept the entire day away."

"I was tired..." Reynold mumbled into Frederick’s white sweater, tightening his grip on Frederick’s waist like a cozy koala. "You wore me out."

"I know, baby," Frederick murmured, leaning down to press a deep, lingering kiss to the top of Reynold’s head. "That’s why I let you rest. But you need to get up now. Dinner is waiting for us downstairs."

Reynold groaned playfully, burying his face deeper against Frederick’s white sweater before slowly sitting up. He rubbed his eyes with the sleeves of his oversized sweater, looking adorably sleepy and disheveled.

They both got out of bed, but Reynold paused, looking down at his oversized clothes. "I want to change first," he said, smoothing down the fabric. "This sweater is way too big."

Frederick chuckled warmly and gestured toward the walk-in closet. "Alright, sweetheart. Take your time."

Reynold picked up his phone from the nightstand and walked into the grand walk-in closet. He browsed through the neatly arranged clothes before settling on a stylish black hoodie and matching joggers. After changing, he stood in front of the full-length mirror to check his reflection. The outfit fit him perfectly, casual and comfortable while still looking sharp.

Pleased with his appearance, Reynold took his phone and began snapping selfies from different angles.

In the middle of his little photo session, the closet door glided open. Frederick stepped inside, his tall figure appearing in the mirror behind Reynold. Seeing him posing for pictures, Frederick’s expression softened with affection.

He walked up behind Reynold, wrapped his long arms around his waist, and pulled him back against his chest.

Then he leaned down and pressed a lingering kiss to the side of Reynold’s neck.

Reynold’s heart fluttered, and a bright smile spread across his face. He quickly tapped the camera button, capturing the intimate moment just as Frederick’s lips touched his skin.

They took a few more pictures together, some sweet and others playful, before Frederick finally gave Reynold’s hip a gentle squeeze.

"Come on, little angel," Frederick murmured affectionately. "Let’s go eat before the food gets cold."

As they left the walk-in closet and returned to the bedroom, Reynold continued swiping through the pictures on his phone. They then walked out of the bedroom and stepped into the long hallway, heading toward the staircase. When Reynold reached the picture of Frederick kissing his neck, he paused, smiling shyly at the photo.

He turned to Frederick, and he bit his lower lip shyly.

"I’m going to post my own picture..." He hesitated before tilting the screen toward Frederick. "Can I post this one? I really like it."

Before Frederick could answer, Reynold quickly added, "Don’t worry, your face isn’t showing! Just your jaw and shoulder."

Frederick stopped walking and turned to face him fully.

"Even if my face shows, you can post whatever you want, Reynold," he assured him warmly. "As long as it makes you happy."

Reynold blinked, his dark eyes widening slightly. "So... I can post us together?"

Frederick reached out and gently tucked a stray strand of hair behind Reynold’s ear. "Yes, sweetheart. Anytime you want."

A beautiful, dazzling smile spread across Reynold’s face. "Then I’m posting it!"

Reynold swiped his finger across the screen and switched off Airplane Mode. The moment his network reconnected, a flood of missed calls and text messages poured into his phone, but he ignored them completely.

He opened Instagram, navigated to his profile, selected the gorgeous mirror selfies along with the intimate photo of Frederick kissing his neck, and began typing a caption.

Life with him feels like heaven. ???

Right before Reynold hit Share, Frederick leaned over his shoulder to look at the draft.

"Tag me," he said softly, a quiet spark of pride in his eyes.

Reynold looked up at him, his heart doing a happy flip. "Okay, Daddy."

He tagged Frederick’s official account and tapped Share. Knowing his phone was about to erupt with notifications, Reynold immediately switched the ringer to silent, slipped the phone into his jogger pocket, and took Frederick’s hand as they walked downstairs, completely oblivious to the fact that Frederick had already set the internet ablaze with his own Instagram Story hours earlier.

They made their way down the grand staircase and into the warm, elegant dining hall. The long dining table was beautifully set, and the subtle aroma of a freshly prepared, multi-course dinner filled the air.

As they reached the dining table, Frederick pulled out Reynold’s chair for him.

"Here you go, sweetheart," he said warmly.

Reynold smiled at him. "Thank you, Daddy."

Frederick leaned down and pressed a brief kiss to his forehead before moving to his own side of the table. Just as he pulled out his chair, his phone chimed with a text notification.

He took it from his pocket and glanced at the screen.

It was a message from Lily:

DAD, I just saw your post!!! ???? YOU POSTED HIM?! And "My cute little angel"??? Oh my God, you’re so in love it’s actually embarrassing, but I love it.

I can’t wait for this semester to end so I can finally come home and spend time with both of you! And I need all the details. Don’t even think about ignoring this message, Dad. I seriously love the post. Please post more! ???

Frederick couldn’t help the warm, proud smile that spread across his lips as he read Lily’s message.

He was still smiling when another notification appeared at the top of his screen. His smile faded slightly, and his eyes turned cold as he opened the message.

It was from Eva.

Eva: Oh, so you’re finally showing him off, Frederick. I never thought I’d see the day you’d post someone with that much affection. Is he really that special to you? And now that stupid little gold digger has posted you too, tagging your account for everyone to see! My God, Frederick, have you completely lost your dignity? You’re absolutely shameless!

Frederick read Eva’s bitter, desperate message with complete indifference. He didn’t even bother replying. Instead, he dismissed the notification and opened Lily’s chat, his thumb moving smoothly across the keyboard.

Frederick:Do you really love it that much that you’re already asking for more?

Reynold sat across from him, watching the subtle shift in Frederick’s expression, the brief coldness that had flashed in his eyes before giving way to his usual calm.

"Frederick?" Reynold asked softly, leaning forward across the polished table. "Is everything okay?"

Frederick placed his phone face down on the table, his eyes softening instantly as he looked at Reynold.

"Everything is perfectly okay, sweetheart."

Two housemaids stepped forward quietly, setting steaming plates of exquisite food before them. After bowing politely, they retreated, leaving them to enjoy their dinner.

Frederick picked up his fork and smiled at Reynold across the table.

"Eat up, baby. You’ve had a long day."

Meanwhile, inside her dimly lit luxury mansion, Eva paced back and forth across the marble floor like a caged animal.

Her face was pale with fury, and she gripped her phone so tightly that her knuckles turned white. On the screen was Reynold’s latest Instagram post: an intimate photo of Frederick kissing his neck, with a tag linking directly to Frederick’s official account.

The comment section was already flooded with likes and comments, with people speculating about their relationship and others expressing their support.

"No..." Eva breathed, her voice trembling with rage. "No! I will not let this little nobody win! I won’t let him take what belongs to me!"

She knew Frederick had cut her off completely. She knew her standing in high society was hanging by a thread. But seeing Frederick publicly display such affection for a young student was more than she could bear.

Eva no longer cared about clearing Reynold’s name as she had promised Frederick. All she wanted now was to destroy their happiness, no matter the consequences.

With shaking fingers, Eva dialed a private number.

The line rang twice before a raspy, secretive voice answered.

"Eva? What do you have for me?"

"I have a story that will destroy him," Eva spat, her eyes gleaming with malice. "I don’t care how much it costs. I want you to spread it across every major news outlet, blog, and tabloid platform tonight."

"What’s the angle?" the blogger asked.

"Write that Frederick Corvin is an irresponsible, heartless monster," Eva commanded, her voice rising with every word. "Tell the public that he abandoned his wife and daughter to run around with a teenage boy! Paint him as a reckless billionaire abusing his power...
