Chapter 121: White Wolf - Lycan King Hwang Do Hyun

After making sure everything had stabilized, Lucas finally left the crafting room, heading toward the Guild Master’s office, located deep within the headquarters of Guild Zootopia.

Lucas stood before the large door, took a deep breath, and pushed it open.

A pair of enormous blue eyes immediately opened in the darkness the moment Lucas stepped inside the room.

Lucas froze.

The unusually spacious room had been crammed full by a wolf body with snow-white fur. The white fur covered the entire floor, four legs as large as stone pillars, and the enormous wolf head was resting on the poor desk that had been crushed to the point of near deformation.

This was Hwang Do Hyun’s Lycan form.

The Guild Master of Zootopia was curled up in the room, no different from an ancient monster that had just claimed its lair.

Although this form caused the furniture in the room to be constantly damaged, he did not care much. Hwang Do Hyun always liked transforming into this shape to rest, to relax his Lycan-form muscles.

Even though this was not the largest giant form that Hwang Do Hyun favored, it was enough.

Hwang Do Hyun’s blue eyes stared intently at Lucas.

"Back already?"

Hwang Do Hyun asked in a hoarse voice. The voice emanating from the enormous wolf body made the entire room tremble slightly.

"Yes." Lucas stepped inside, carefully closing the door. "I brought back something very important."

Hwang Do Hyun yawned long and boredly.

The enormous wolf mouth opened, revealing sharp teeth. Lucas instinctively stepped back half a pace, quietly swallowing.

"Did Thunder give any extra Potions?"

"Not just Potions." Lucas said cheerfully. "I met a very special Craftsman there."

He recounted everything that had happened at Thunder’s shop, from the Craftsman named Kei crafting the Purification Ring to his publicly revealing the recipe to every Craftsman across Korea and refusing the invitation to join Guild Zootopia.

Hwang Do Hyun listened in a state of near sleep.

Only when Lucas mentioned Kei’s refusal to join did the white wolf’s ears twitch slightly.

"What?"

"Kei-nim refused to join our Guild."

Hwang Do Hyun snorted coldly.

"Ungrateful. When we show someone favor, they should know their place and obediently join!"

Lucas gave a dry laugh.

"Don’t talk as if people are obligated to join our Guild."

"Guild Zootopia is one of the five strongest Guilds in Korea." Hwang Do Hyun said coldly. "An ordinary Craftsman dares to refuse when invited?"

"He’s not ordinary."

Lucas took the Purification Ring from his hand, placed it in his palm, and stepped closer to Hwang Do Hyun.

"Look. This is the Purification Ring crafted by that Craftsman himself, a ring that can resist all abnormal effects caused by monsters."

"It will change the way hunters of this era fight!"

Hwang Do Hyun lowered his head to look at the tiny ring resting between his enormous claws.

A long silence stretched out.

Lucas waited for the Guild Master’s reaction, only for Hwang Do Hyun to suddenly raise his head with his bloody mouth wide open.

"Grrraaawrr!"

A terrifying roar echoed through the room.

Lucas froze, every hair on his body standing on end. The door behind him rattled violently, objects on the desk tumbling to the floor one after another.

"What’s going on?" Lucas stammered. "Why are you angry?"

He did not understand what had set Hwang Do Hyun off. This should have been good news, right?

Hwang Do Hyun roared, his expression so ferocious it seemed he wanted to devour the entire room.

"How am I supposed to wear this ring when I’m fighting in Lycan form!?"

Lucas was dumbfounded.

Hwang Do Hyun raised a paw with enormous claws in front of Lucas.

The sharp claws curved, each one nearly as long as Lucas’s arm. The tiny silver ring could not even slip past a single claw segment, let alone be worn on a wolf’s claw.

Lucas slowly turned his head to look at the ring in his palm, then at the enormous white wolf body before him.

Finally, he raised his hand to hold his head and sighed.

That’s right.Most hunters in Guild Zootopia possess the ability to transform into beast form. When fighting, they use their beast bodies to unleash their greatest power.

So how are they supposed to wear a ring?

"This..." Lucas said dryly. "I never thought about it."

Hwang Do Hyun bared his teeth, his blue eyes growing even more ferocious.

"You brought me a piece of equipment that can’t be used and you’re proud of it?"

"It’s not that it can’t be used." Lucas hurriedly explained. "You can still wear it in human form."

"I don’t fight in human form! I’d look ridiculous!"

"But you can’t stay transformed all day either..."

Hwang Do Hyun fell silent.

Lucas saw his wolf ears droop, and a strange feeling suddenly welled up in his heart.

A piece of equipment that could save countless hunters across the country, yet the Guild Master of Zootopia couldn’t use it simply because his hands would transform into enormous claws during battle.

This was clearly a very serious problem.

"Maybe..." Lucas said slowly, "we should ask Kei to craft another version... for beast-form hunters?"

Hwang Do Hyun immediately looked at him with interest.

"Another version?"

"For example, a collar, ankle bands, or a small stone attached to a small piece of equipment that can be attached to the beast form?"

Hwang Do Hyun’s blue eyes lit up, and before Lucas could even feel relieved, his Guild Master roared:

"Then what are we waiting for? Go find that Craftsman!"

"But he’s in Dong-San city."

Lucas stammered.

"Then go to Dong-San!"

Hwang Do Hyun planted both front legs on the ground, and his entire massive Lycan body immediately stood up. The desk was sent flying to one side, and the floor trembled violently.

Lucas looked at his Guild Master and suddenly had a bad feeling.

"You’re going yourself?"

Hwang Do Hyun lowered his head and bared his sharp white teeth.

"I’m going to go ask that uncooperative Craftsman, and I want to drag him back to Guild Zootopia too, he’ll be the one directly crafting equipment for me!"

Lucas sighed.

It seemed that this time, Kei-nim would be dragged into an enormous mess that he had brought about.

Kei-nim, I sincerely apologize!
