Bizarre Voyage: Summoning The Fourth Crisis

Chapter 329 Changes, Major Update (Part 2)

  • Next Chapter

Before long, a number of simple sand houses were erected on the beaches of the Jinghai Islands.

The other members of the Sea Star Race were awestruck by the sight, as if they had witnessed a miracle from the gods.

With that, Luo Ge beckoned him over.

Seeing this, Qing Jian came before him without hesitation, knelt on one knee, and lowered his head.

Luo Ge touched a finger to the spot between Qing Jian’s eyebrows. His eyes went vacant for a moment, but when they refocused, he replied to Luo Ge without the slightest hesitation, “I understand, My Lord.”

Luo Ge nodded, then took out several black and blue robes from his inventory and handed them to him.

“At night, you can come back to rest. Try to finish work on time, don’t dally, and follow the rules.”

“…Qing Jian understands.”

Although he found the rules Luo Ge gave him a bit strange, Qing Jian nodded and prepared to carry them out.

…

“I’ve found a new workplace for you.”

In Seaside Town, Luo Ge walked into the place where Navor was temporarily staying.

“Please wait a moment. My work is almost finished.”

Navor said without turning his head, the Prosthetic Limbs on his back moving busily but methodically.

“I have a question,” Luo Ge said after a moment of thought. “Will it disturb you?”

“Yes.”

Navor’s expression was calm and focused, showing no intention of humoring Luo Ge, his client.

Luo Ge was left speechless.

Seeing this, he could only shelve his question for now and wait for Navor.

After thinking for a moment, Luo Ge left a message for Navor, telling him to contact him via Spirit Candle after he was finished. Then, Luo Ge took out the Mockery of the Deceiver.

Before long, a shifty-looking fellow entered Candle Island.

After a quick scan of his surroundings, a look of shock flashed through Le Ti’s eyes at the sight.

Then, his smile widened, and his posture became even more respectful.

However, Luo Di, who stood beside him, remained expressionless and unfazed.

“Ohoho… The place you control is truly magnificent and grand…”

Le Ti’s gaze lingered on the entrance of the Candlefire Hall for a long time before he pulled his attention away.

“You have fulfilled the promise between us. Your nobility has my admiration, respected Candlekeeper.”

Luo Ge was unmoved by Le Ti’s flattery. “I am merely carrying out the Will of the Candlefire.”

Hearing this, he paid no mind to the pensive Le Ti and led the two directly to the place designated for them: a small house with the Badge of Deceit imprinted on its roof.

“You can move about on the street, but you can’t go to other places.”

“Understood. Thank you for the reminder.” Le Ti was still all smiles and very polite.

Luo Di, on the other hand, sat down silently in the designated Communication Station.

Luo Ge took out a Small Candle, handed it to her, gave a few more reminders, and then left.

He wasn’t afraid of these two causing trouble.

After all, Spirit Candle had already scanned them thoroughly upon their entry.

After Luo Ge left, Le Ti also departed reluctantly, shooting Luo Di a meaningful look before he went.

In response, Luo Di just gave him a blank look before averting her gaze.

Luo Ge had expected Luo Di to look around.

But strangely, she seemed to have no interest in doing so. She just sat inside, leaning on the counter and staring into space, looking like she was slacking off.

‘Interesting…’

Luo Ge chuckled to himself and paid them no further mind.

…

Before long, Luo Ge returned to the Candlefire Hall. After calling for Noxia, he went to find Burton.

“…If we’re to build a scalable, foundational, secondary system according to your idea, I’m afraid we’ll still need to find two important things.”

Burton closed his book and said to Luo Ge after a moment of contemplation.

“What two things?” Luo Ge’s brow furrowed slightly. They were, of course, discussing the “Curse Master” class.

The reason he had Burton Mage join the discussion was naturally due to his vast knowledge, and the latter had quickly offered some opinions.

“A medium, and a source for the Curse Power.” Burton didn’t keep him in suspense and stated it directly.

Upon hearing this, Luo Ge immediately understood.

“So, if you want to achieve your goal, you’ll probably have to build upon this foundation.” Seeing that he understood, Burton Mage smiled faintly and said no more.

He was just offering a pointer; the specific implementation was up to Luo Ge.

“Thank you, Burton Mage.”

Luo Ge nodded, then rose and left for his next destination.

Besides the Curse Master, he had another new idea, but he needed to find Navor for it.

‘But this idea will probably have to wait until the next version update for the players to experience it…’

…

“Navor, you’re a blacksmith, aren’t you?” Luo Ge asked.

“No. To be precise, I am a Craftsman.” Navor shook his head, correcting Luo Ge. “But I once studied forging in the Miguel del Peaks, so I know some blacksmithing techniques.”

…

‘Seeing you hammering away all the time, I thought your main class was a blacksmith…’

Luo Ge shook his head internally.

Then, without further ado, he took out a Special Weapon and an Ordinary Weapon and placed them on the table.

“Then do you know the reason for the difference between these two types of weapons?”

Navor didn’t answer. Instead, he picked up the two weapons to examine them closely. He then extended one of his Prosthetic Limbs, which changed shape and lit up the red crystal at its tip, scanning them with the emitted light.

After a while, Navor finally put down the two weapons and spoke calmly.

“You want to know the difference between Molten Fire artifacts and fire-forged artifacts, correct?”

“Molten Fire artifacts? Fire-forged artifacts?” Luo Ge asked with curiosity. “Could you explain what that means?”

“Tracing their origins and history would be very troublesome, and many of my related memories are missing.”

“I can give you a simple, general overview.”

Navor said quietly.

Luo Ge naturally nodded in agreement. Those details could be explored later.

Seeing Luo Ge nod, Navor began to explain, briefly and to the point:

“Fire-forged artifacts are equipment and items created through ordinary forging methods.”

“Although the process for creating Molten Fire artifacts is similar, it includes a crucial step: ‘Molten Fire’.”

“The principle is to follow a fixed process to complete a ‘ritual’-like procedure, communicating with an ancient Power to fuse a special fire into the artifact, thereby obtaining Power that surpasses ordinary fire-forged artifacts.”

“I see…”

After hearing Navor’s explanation, Luo Ge now understood why he couldn’t create Special Weapons himself. There was one part of the process he couldn’t replicate perfectly.

“Then please teach me this knowledge,” Luo Ge said.

“Alright.” Navor agreed to Luo Ge’s request directly, showing no emotional fluctuation.

…

Several hours passed, and Luo Ge only snapped out of Navor’s lecture when Spirit Candle sent a notification.

After saying a word to Navor, he returned to the Spirit Candle Space.

He then began to sort through the changes he was about to introduce to the players.

‘The two points for the Curse Master are resolved. It’s almost ready to be implemented as a character bloodline.’

‘The other one… will have to be put on hold…’

‘Still no real leads on Special Weapons for now. I’ll wait for a minor update.’

‘The basic to-do list is almost finished… Time to post an announcement, or these leeks are going to freak out.’

Luo Ge thought to himself.

…

On the Spirit Candle Forum and in the chat groups, many players were wailing in despair.

“Four hours, twenty-two minutes, and thirty-six seconds without Spirit Candle. The addiction is kicking in… (drooling dazedly.jpg)”

“Seriously, dude, maintenance has been going on for this long and still no update announcement? You gotta at least show us what’s coming!”

“Yeah, what the hell is Spirit Candle doing? Blame Sima from Sanguosha.”

“How dare you! How dare some trash game try to ride the coattails of our booming game!”

“Case closed. The Sanguosha devs forced the Spirit Candle devs to do this.”

“Oh, okay, okay, so that’s how you wanna play it, huh? Since I’ve got nothing better to do, I’m gonna go leave a positive review.”

…

Just as the numerous players, like homeless Wandering Souls, could only browse the forums and spam the chat groups…

an official announcement from Spirit Candle instantly captured the attention of countless players…
