Big Shot’s Reincarnation Sweeps the World

Chapter 66 - Does She Think I’ll Eat Her?

Chapter 66: Does She Think I’ll Eat Her?

Although she didn’t speak, her eyes were so sharp that the driver sensed a great mental strain. It was hard to imagine that an 18-year-old girl could have such sharp eyes.

The driver broke down in the end. “Sorry, Miss.”

Sheng Yang raised her eyebrows. Did this have anything to do with Yi Juncheng again?

But then she ruled out this possibility. Yi Juncheng’s revenge was so cruel that those assassins wouldn’t dare to mess around with him again.

This was her feeling based on what she knew of Yi Juncheng.

But who did the driver work for?

Sheng Yang closed the book. Faced with this crisis, she didn’t seem to have any response and didn’t even ask anything, which made the driver feel like he was on pins and needles the whole way.

The car finally arrived at its destination, and the driver got out of the car, opened the door for Sheng Yang, and said respectfully, “Miss, please.”

After Sheng Yang got out of the car, a grand and majestic house came into view which looked a bit like a medieval European castle.

Seeing her looking around casually, the nervous driver made a “please” gesture at her then apologized to Sheng Yang and confessed, “Miss, I’m sorry but I can’t help it. Madam Sheng made me do this. She’s your grandmother, so I think she won’t give you a hard time.”

But in fact, he wasn’t quite sure about his own words.

If Madam Sheng really treated this girl nicely, why didn’t Ms. Kang bring the girl over to visit her grandmother?

The driver thought Sheng Yang would resist and even run away when she heard this, but to his surprise, she just followed him forward quietly.

This made the driver feel even guiltier.

Sheng Yang walked into the courtyard. She showed great interest in this mixed Gothic and Baroque architectural style; it was very unique. She couldn’t wait to see the interior decorations.

The gate was very high and she continued to walk in. Sure enough, it was very beautiful inside.

Further in, there was a big living room. There was an old lady playing mahjong with a few elderly women. Both the mahjong table and mahjong tiles were golden. This flashy style was completely out of step with the overall decoration style of the house, causing Sheng Yang to frown slightly.

“Phew, is this your granddaughter who grew up in the countryside?” An old woman squinted at Sheng Yang and spoke contemptuously to Grandmother Sheng, the jade bracelet on her raised wrist shining brightly.

As Grandmother Sheng’s friends, they knew this girl’s story. Just as Grandmother Sheng thought, they didn’t think the Sheng Family should’ve brought such a child back.

For the first eighteen years of her life, she had lived in the countryside. How could she possibly adapt to an upper-class life?

“Yes,” Grandmother Sheng said carelessly while playing mahjong, “Her mother treats her like her own eyeballs. She’s been back for so long, but her mother hasn’t even brought her to see me. Does she think I’ll eat her?”

The old women all laughed. “Well, Mrs. Sheng, don’t take it to heart. Oh, you won again!”

These women kept flattering Grandmother Sheng and made her grin from ear to ear.

And Sheng Yang frowned as she watched Grandmother Sheng play mahjong.

This old woman sucked at mahjong.

Although she had never played mahjong or learned it, she could tell at once that Grandmother Sheng’s “friends” had secretly collaborated to cheat her.

They were quite sneaky, allowing Grandmother Sheng to win small on one game then make her lose big on another.
