Chapter 169: Who Said That a Sister Can’t Manage Her Older Brother?
Chi Jiao picked up the fruit knife from the ground. She twirled it in her hand before placing it on the fruit tray on the table.
Recalling Chi Ze’s pale face from the fright earlier, she wanted to laugh.
However, she had just discovered a problem.
She hadn’t looked at Chi Ze’s face much previously, so she didn’t notice that he didn’t look like the Chi family at all.
But he didn’t look like Zhu Limin, either.
Could it be that this little fellow wasn’t her father’s biological son at all?
The seed of doubt took root in her heart, and a dark glint flashed across Chi Jiao’s eyes.
She would have to investigate this matter thoroughly.
She couldn’t let her father support another man’s son.
With that thought in mind, Chi Jiao yawned lazily and climbed into bed.
The night gradually turned tranquil.
Just as Chi Jiao was sleeping soundly, the sound of the window opening suddenly woke her up. She opened her eyes abruptly and sat up in bed.
She placed her hand under the pillow and touched the military dagger she had hidden for self-defense. She looked at the window calmly.
Immediately after, she was stunned.
All she saw was a familiar figure entering her room through the window.
The young man stood in the dark shadows, but Chi Jiao could still recognize him at a glance.
“Brother Quan?” Chi Jiao came back to her senses and jumped off the bed to run to him.
Quan Jue’s body still carried the chilliness of the night as he stared deeply at the young girl.
She was wearing a white, bubble sleeve nightdress. The dress’s hemline reached the bend of her legs, revealing her slender and fair calves.
She looked up at him, her doe eyes as bright as the stars.
“It’s so late. Why are you here?” Chi Jiao thought she was dreaming.
If this scene had not really happened, she would have never imagined a day would come when Quan Jue would climb into her bedroom so late at night.
“You didn’t go to school today.” Quan Jue looked down at her, his deep and cold voice tinged with restrained gentleness. “I came to see what’s going on.”
Chi Jiao’s nose twitched.
She was close enough to Quan Jue to smell the alcohol on him.
“Brother Quan, did you drink?” Chi Jiao asked as she frowned.
“I drank a little,” Quan Jue said nonchalantly.
“How much is a little?” Chi Jiao asked.
Quan Jue bent down and stared at her with his black, gem-like eyes.
The shape of his eyes was the seductive type. Perhaps it was because he had drunk alcohol, but his eyes were a little red, which added to his decadent charm.
The distance between them was very close now, and their noses were almost touching.
Chi Jiao looked into his eyes and felt his breath entering her nose. Her breathing became a little messy.
“You see me as your older brother,” Quan Jue said. “How can a sister manage her older brother?”
“Who said that a sister can’t manage her older brother?” Chi Jiao pouted unhappily. “Who set the rules? Tell me.”
Quan Jue’s gaze landed on her lips.
Her plump lips were very adorable when she pouted.
They were like little cherries, tempting him to take a bite.
With that in mind, Quan Jue immediately took action.
His handsome face approached Chi Jiao again.
His thin lips landed on hers.
Chi Jiao’s body collapsed instantly as her eyes widened in confusion.
Before she could return to her senses, his arm had wrapped around her waist while his other hand held the back of her head.
