Beneath the Red Dragon
Chapter 881 - 154: The Coming of Destruction (Part 3)
Meanwhile, the Nobility’s Griffin Knight Corps, the Giant Eagle Guard, and the Dragon Beast Knights all shot skyward with furious roars, trying to disrupt the tactical objective of these Demon Dragons.
But the leader of the Flying Dragon Knight Order, Batorri, issued her own command, and the long?enraged Flying Dragons and the Scorpion Lion Corps dove down, rapidly entangling themselves with the Nobility’s ascending aerial legions.
And so those Golems began to crash down.
Although these Golems could play a tremendous role in siege assaults and could withstand many attacks, on the slopes they were nothing but simple living targets, and they could not compete with elite legions for the limited quotas of airdrop teleportation, so they could only rely on the Imperial Demon Dragon Species for aerial deployment.
Some Golems fell onto the slopes outside the city defenses, while others dropped directly onto the defensive line itself.
The Magic Shields in this world vary widely: there are Magic Barriers, Energy Shields, and Mortal Barriers; although all these Shield spells exist to protect the Caster,
each type of Shield spell emphasizes something different.
Some Magic Shields focus more on physical defense, while some Magic Barriers focus more on protection against Magic and energy; the Caster chooses according to the target they are facing.
But in such large?scale Legion Level battles, almost all constructed Magic Protections are oriented toward defending against Elemental Magic Energy.
Because at Legion Level scale, the spell strikes of Casters are by far the most lethal.
Yet even these defensive barriers, specialized toward energy and Magic, were not shaken in the least by the heavy Golems crashing down from above, despite their apparent thinness.
Only when those two massive Siege-breaking Level Golems slammed down did they finally send ripples and waves through that Magic Barrier, whose energy output was supported by Magic Nodes.
Under the pressure brought by these gigantic Golems, the Mage Legion finally struck again, using various forms of Magic to bind the Golems rampaging along the defensive line, or directly using Magic Detection to strike at the cores of these Golems and at the Heroic Spirits controlling them.
Bang,
The Siege-breaking Level Golem rampaged along the fortifications, stomping several Legion Warriors of the Noble Corps to death on the spot.
But the Energy Shield covering the surface of this Siege-breaking Level Golem rippled layer upon layer; it completely ignored the surrounding enemies attacking it and the spells raining down, and instead aimed its cannon directly at that Shield.
The war mainbrain unlocked the full power of this Golem, driving the attack strength of this Siege-breaking Level Golem past overload, firing a blazing beam of light that, after a brief attrition, shattered the Magic Barrier defenses of one Node.
"Our turn," the Female Red Dragon Kleyna let out a deep, roaring bellow; these Giant Dragons understood the will of the King of Red Scales and answered with one Ancient Dragon Language cry after another.
The probing attacks of the Golem Legion had tested the strength of these Magic Barriers, allowing all the Giant Dragons to know exactly what level of force was needed to break them.
Just as in the knowledge of Giant Dragon inheritance, battle meant calmly seeking out the enemy’s weak points and then destroying them.
Thus the Giant Dragon Corps of the Golden Empire, under the Dragon King’s leadership, swept down toward their strike targets overhead, each Dragon King assigned to break those critical commanding heights along the city defenses.
And behind these Giant Dragon Corps, more than ten Floating Mage Towers, coordinated by the intelligent mainbrain, rapidly apportioned their own targets; under the cover of the Flying Dragon Corps, they began to slowly descend toward their designated points.
When beam after beam of teleport airdrop light lanced down onto the watchtowers of the Dorabi City Wall, the fury of the Dragons and the annihilation brought by the Legion Warriors descended together!
