Chapter 851: Chapter 147: The Gathering of Kings: In the Name of the Divine_3

Of course, his Excellency Alfred, head of the Imperial Cultural Propaganda Department, had already persuaded the two fat sheep before him to purchase projection rights for all the opera houses within the imperial city.

King of Dark Elves Anudale and Dark Lord Shalos didn’t mind these small expenses. Though their wealth was somewhat incomparable to the Golden Empire’s, it far surpassed the riches accumulated by an Ancient Dragon.

During this past half month, these two lords and kings, after detailed discussions with the various Dragon Kings of the Golden Empire, successively transported the most elite four legions of Dark Elves, supported by the fleet of the Empire’s steel battleship “Imperial Glory,” to garrison around the outskirts of the Golden Empire.

These legions of Dark Elves had undergone transformation through the Magic Ceremony, avoiding the issue of being unable to adapt to the climate of the surface world due to their prolonged dwelling in the Dark Realm.

Meanwhile, more Dark Elves were stationed in the realm of Dark Nest Lord Shalos, awaiting subsequent magical orbit transformations.

Shalos proposed that the Golden Empire assist by providing the Casting Corps to establish a permanent large-scale magic teleportation passage facility between the two places, to facilitate future troop transfers, with all resource consumption borne by the Dark Elves and the Dark Nest.

As such, Shalos dispatched two Alchemy Legions to station along with the Dark Elf legions.

Having resolved these complex and troublesome affairs, the two lords could spare some time today to leisurely explore the royal capital of the Golden Empire.

But this excursion clearly brought many surprises to the two lords.

“What’s happening there?” Anudale took a deep breath, somewhat enjoying the atmosphere of the city, pointing at the bustling majestic Divine Hall ahead.

Shalos’ gaze also sparkled as she looked forward.

There, innumerable white, gray, and brown plumed Flying Birds descended, many children joyously laughed and clamored, holding flowers and scattering petals everywhere.

The very air was suffused with the scent of flowers and the aroma of joy.

Young couples, the brides adorned in wedding veils and the grooms in Imperial officers’ uniform, stepped into that grand Divine Hall under the wings of the Imperial Dragon Group sculptures, encouraged by the lined-up crowd.

Alfred chuckled, “Those are weddings for young people; they will become couples in the sacred cathedral, witnessed by the Imperial Dragon Group, walking together for life.”

The Divine Hall of the Dragon, in the eyes of these citizens, is a sacred cathedral and the Holy Hall witnessing the love of those young people.

“I’m a bit curious,” Shalos said, her eyes glistening as she turned to Alfred, “Can we enter the Holy Hall of Dragons to watch the mortals’ wedding?”

“Of course, everyone is welcome. Although you’re guests, you still enjoy the right to independent freedom,” Alfred bowed like a gentleman and invited, “Honored guests, let us witness their love together.”

The sacred hall of the dragon was now filled with people.

They were family members of the young couples, many onlookers, and lots of elders offering blessings.

Boisterous children were quieted by adults, so the kids picked up their Magic Crystal Screens to capture the beauty of the moment.

In the sacred cathedral, it was a grand event for dozens of young couples simultaneously holding weddings.

Unlike weddings in other regions, here the young men, dressed in military uniforms, stood before the statue of vows, accepting flowers presented by young, beautiful maidens.

The men in military garb smiled as they accepted the girls’ flowers, then uniformly kneeled on one knee.

In the quiet cathedral, beautiful maidens’ clear and bright self-vows reverberated.

“The Imperial newspaper once said that when people fall in love, various hormones are secreted,”

“These hormones play an important role in the production, continuation, and development of love. However, love, at its purest, can last for no more than eighteen months.”

The spectators quietly listened as the young women’s voices rose, even Anudale and Shalos were momentarily frozen in time by the sacred moment.

Countless plumed Flying Birds lingered on the cathedral’s light-transparent dome, looking down into the cathedral.

The gentle light penetrated the dome, enveloping the faces of the young people, warm and sacred.

“Thus, as people grow older, there is truly no love left; it’s more like familial affection that accompanies life.”

Those young girls suddenly laughed together, their voices rising into the air.

“Humans are inherently not long-affectionate creatures; undying love defies nature.”

“Instead of saying ‘I will not leave you during poverty or wealth at this moment,’ I’d rather swear under the witness of dragons,”

“In the name of God, I shall defy my instincts, go against my nature, and love you forever!”

The young men jumped up with smiles, lifting their brides and swirling their white dresses like blooming flowers.

The bells in the cathedral rang at this moment, with the applause and cheers of the spectators dedicated to these young people.

The countless Flying Birds atop the dome took flight, casting colorful, reflective sunlight down.

Anudale watched this scene, his mouth also curled up, and his hands involuntarily applauded.

The charming Dark Lord’s face seemed also transformed by the sacred glow, appearing especially dignified and graceful.

Alfred straightened his back and loudly cheered, offering hearty blessings to these newlyweds.

“What kind of emperor there is, so too are the subjects,”

“There are kings who defy nature, thus there are subjects who rebel against instinct,”

“What an enviable nation it is, Karon Gogomola, you are truly remarkable!” Anudale looked up at the cathedral’s sacred dome, sighed with a smile.
