Chen Cheng had just steadied himself on the rooftop when a piercing whistle cut through the air. An Ice Sword, radiating a frigid aura, shot toward his chest from the side.

Chen Cheng moved in a Seven Stars pattern, his body flashing as he advanced to meet her.

His own longsword also traced arcs of silver light as he engaged Shen Qingyao in a duel.

For a moment, the air above the Vermilion Bird Courtyard filled with fluttering sword-shadows and weaving silver light. The glows would occasionally converge, forming dazzling bolts of silver that left one mesmerized.
