Becoming a Billionaire From Awakening a System
Chapter 218: System Hint: A Valuable Project
Chapter 218: Chapter 218: System Hint: A Valuable Project
Compared to Li Zhe’s project, Wang Zongjie’s, at the very least, had a shorter timeline.
So Fang Yurou clearly showed a look of interest.
After Wang Zongjie finished his presentation,
Fang Yurou, with a smile, quietly greeted Wang Zongjie as he came down from the stage:
"Your project... let’s talk about it in detail later."
The smile on Wang Zongjie’s face grew even wider.
The investment firm backing Fang Yurou was one of the best.
Since he had managed to pique the interest of this big shot,
it meant his semiconductor project was more than likely secured.
He probably wouldn’t have to worry about funding anymore.
The only uncertainty was whether more people would try to get involved later on.
That was something Wang Zongjie would have to coordinate later.
Lin Feng’s investment in this project wasn’t large.
He was mostly just watching the show.
Next,
Lin Feng discovered that basically everyone present, aside from himself, had a project of their own.
Even Fang Yurou had a few projects under her belt.
However, her projects were more focused on acquiring technology.
After all, for Fang Yurou, money wasn’t a major concern.
Her firm had plenty of cash.
After almost everyone had finished presenting their projects,
Li Zhe came forward again with a smile. "We’ve been talking for so long, everyone must be tired. This event is for eating and drinking, you know."
With that, Li Zhe led everyone back to the main hall.
The hall was no longer as empty as it was when Lin Feng first arrived.
The center had been set up to look like a dance floor.
Along the sides were buffet-style desserts and dishes.
The lights had been dimmed, and soothing music played throughout the hall.
Wang Zongjie leaned in close to Lin Feng and said, "That was just the project introductions. Even if people are interested, they won’t discuss it openly."
"Do you know why?"
Lin Feng grinned. ’These people are all seasoned old foxes.’
"Of course. It’s to avoid awkwardness."
Wang Zongjie’s admiration for Lin Feng grew.
"Exactly. Sometimes when project types overlap, it’s quite awkward to invest in one but not the other."
"That’s why the upcoming dance is the real main event for investment talks."
Just as Wang Zongjie was speaking, he saw Fang Yurou approaching with her male companion.
"Jie, I’m very interested in your semiconductor project. Let’s go talk about it on the side."
Wang Zongjie clinked glasses with Lin Feng, then turned and left with Fang Yurou.
Su Ruoxi had been observing quietly this whole time.
Seeing Lin Feng was now alone, she let out a long sigh. "These people have so many schemes and subtleties."
Lin Feng smiled and said, "Relationships based solely on mutual interest are the most reliable."
"You just heard so many project presentations. Did you think any of them were particularly good?"
Lin Feng casually picked up a glass of champagne for himself and a glass of juice for Su Ruoxi.
Su Ruoxi took the glass and sipped it. "Actually, I thought that Mr. Chen’s pharmaceutical project was pretty good."
"The ones in the tech industry all feel like they’re just making grandiose promises, but that pharmaceutical project is based on solid, tangible research."
Su Ruoxi clearly had her own opinions on the matter.
The project proposed by Mr. Chen, from the pharmaceutical field, was in bio-genetics.
It had already produced results.
It certainly seemed to be a relatively complete and mature project.
After she finished, Su Ruoxi looked up at Lin Feng and asked, "If it were you, would you invest in this project?"
But to Su Ruoxi’s surprise, Lin Feng shook his head. "If it were me, I wouldn’t invest."
"Besides, haven’t you noticed? There aren’t many interested investors around Mr. Chen."
Hearing Lin Feng’s words, Su Ruoxi glanced over at Mr. Chen.
Sure enough, there was no one around Mr. Chen.
Su Ruoxi pressed her lips together, looking a bit lost. "But why? The project is clearly very good!"
Lin Feng smiled and explained to Su Ruoxi, "This project’s weakness is precisely that it’s *too* good."
"It’s a project where the research is almost complete; it’s already in its final stages."
"If you invest now, you’ll definitely make a profit, but the share of that profit won’t be very large."
Su Ruoxi had a sudden realization.
’It seems I only saw the conservative side of things.’
’But investing requires more comprehensive consideration.’
’When investing, the timing of entry is crucial.’
Watching everyone negotiate with each other, Su Ruoxi became curious about Lin Feng’s choice.
"So, Brother Feng, are there any projects you want to discuss so far?"
Lin Feng paused for a moment.
’Of course, there is!’
As soon as everyone had finished presenting their projects,
Lin Feng’s system had already given him a prompt.
It was the tip awarded from a previous mission.
Tip Reward: Host is advised to pay close attention to Li Zhe’s smart chip project.
Host is advised to observe for a period of time before entering.
This project cannot be initiated in the short term.
The tip reward from the system provided this much information.
But it was enough for Lin Feng to make a judgment.
According to the system, now was probably not the right time to invest.
And despite the crowd currently surrounding Li Zhe,
since the system said the project couldn’t be launched anytime soon,
it meant that Li Zhe wouldn’t be able to gather the funds that quickly.
Some people’s interest was just that—interest.
It didn’t mean they would ultimately pull the money out of their pockets.
Lin Feng didn’t plan to hide it from Su Ruoxi. "Actually, I think Li Zhe’s project has the most investment potential."
Su Ruoxi frowned upon hearing this. "But that project can only develop chips suitable for small screens."
"Even though it has some results, based on Li Zhe’s final project concept, it feels more like he’s just making empty promises!"
It wasn’t just Su Ruoxi who felt this way; most people did.
But Lin Feng shook his head. "What do you think is the ultimate concept of Li Zhe’s project?"
According to the final concept Li Zhe had just described, it was merely about creating a special invisible robot or building.
Su Ruoxi repeated it back.
At that moment, Lin Feng led Su Ruoxi onto the dance floor, and they began to dance gracefully.
"If we’re talking about this concept of invisibility, of camouflage,"
"then do you think it could be applied to equipment like, say, fighter jets?"
Hearing Lin Feng say this, Su Ruoxi’s eyes widened in an instant.
Su Ruoxi knew, of course, that if it involved that area,
then this project would be, in a sense, priceless.
The future returns it could generate would be far beyond what any civilian product could bring.
Seeing the look on Su Ruoxi’s face, Lin Feng gave a faint smile.
"I’m afraid even Li Zhe himself hasn’t thought of this potential application yet. Or perhaps, he doesn’t dare to."
Su Ruoxi nodded. "After all, he’s only managed to develop a chip that’s suitable for medium-sized screens."
"No wonder you said his project has huge investment prospects, Brother Feng."
Su Ruoxi looked at Lin Feng, a hint of adoration on her face.
"Then why don’t you go talk to him, Brother Feng?"
"What if he gets enough funding after other people invest?"
A worried look appeared on Su Ruoxi’s face.
Lin Feng shook his head. "No rush."
Part of the reason for not rushing was the system’s prompt.
Another reason was that Lin Feng didn’t have much capital on hand right now.
Furthermore, in the near future,
Lin Feng planned to invest most of his capital into the land project in Bin City.
So Lin Feng didn’t intend to enter the field just yet.
Su Ruoxi had always trusted Lin Feng completely.
So even though Lin Feng chose to wait and see,
Su Ruoxi fully agreed with his decision.
Although Lin Feng didn’t have a project and didn’t make any investments at this gathering,
it still brought him a tangible benefit... connections!
Connections were always incredibly important.
Through this gathering, Lin Feng had gotten to know people like Fang Yurou.
And he had exchanged contact information with all of them.
These people were only a fraction of the circle connected by Yang City University.
The capital they represented would bring Lin Feng immense benefits in the future.
Lin Feng continued to guide Su Ruoxi by the waist, taking elegant steps across the dance floor.
The handsome man and beautiful woman duo gradually attracted the gazes of others who had already finished their business discussions.
"It’s great to be young. Look at that youthful vitality they have!"
Fang Yurou stood watching from the side, a smile on her face as she held her dance partner’s arm.
Li Zhe’s project discussions were also more or less settled.
In reality, quite a few people were interested in Li Zhe’s project.
It was just that some details still needed to be ironed out.
For Li Zhe, just having interested parties was enough.
His biggest fear was that the project would receive no attention at all.
"They aren’t like us. That kind of youthful charm is truly captivating."
Li Zhe said, swirling the red wine in his glass.
"Lin Feng doesn’t have the impetuousness you see in so many young people today. To have such a calm mindset at such a young age..."
Fang Yurou didn’t finish her sentence.
But everyone beside her understood what she meant.
From their interactions with Lin Feng today, they could feel it.
Lin Feng’s calm, composed demeanor and his farsighted way of thinking,
would definitely allow this young man to go far.
This was a person worth befriending.
When the song ended, Lin Feng and Su Ruoxi finished their dance.
They turned to hear enthusiastic applause from those around them.
"What a feast for the eyes. You two really look like a golden couple."
Li Zhe said with a smile.
At the same time, he handed Lin Feng a glass of wine.
Lin Feng accepted the red wine and took a small sip. "You flatter me."
Since he planned to cooperate with Li Zhe in the future,
Lin Feng’s attitude toward him became slightly more familiar.
"I was wondering, Mr. Li, have you found any suitable partners for your project yet?"
Lin Feng asked casually, as if it were an afterthought.
Li Zhe didn’t have his guard up around Lin Feng, this newcomer.
So he smiled slightly and said, "There are indeed two or three interested parties right now, but investing is something that requires detailed negotiation."
"Until the final contract is signed and everything is set in stone, things can always change."
Li Zhe said, a trace of helplessness on his face.
Lin Feng could sense it from Li Zhe’s words.
Li Zhe would almost certainly have to keep looking for investors.
This project wasn’t just short on cash; it was extremely short.
But on second thought, the project was indeed a massive cash burn.
It was tech chip R&D, after all.
And on top of that, it was research into a brand-new concept that had never been seen before.
In the exploratory phase, it was only natural that it would consume a vast amount of money and capital.
