Chapter 1489 – Test Rules (Part Two)
Just as the rules came out, everyone was stunned- these weren’t the rules that their elders had told them about, though most of them were still quite happy about it. At the very least, they wouldn’t have to lose their lives now!
The strong ones naturally didn’t think much about it, but many of the Mystic early class fighters here were a lot more relieved now that this rule was established.
At the same time, a lot of the people took a glance at Lin Yi, feeling that this rule just so happened to be tailor made to Lin Yi! The guy had just lost his strength and was weaker than a normal person- this rule would make it that people could not do much to him! Accidentally using too much strength would just outright kill the guy, so they really couldn’t touch him!
Not only would they get disqualified if they mess up and kill him, they would have also broken The Ice Palace’s rules and cause even more trouble- as a result, most of the participants immediately had the same thought. Be away from Lin Yi as far as possible!
“Following on from that, during the test, everything will be recorded on a electrical card that will possess your scores. It will be displayed there!” The inn owner said, “During the test, if you were to have your items taken from someone else, the scores would shift as well! One thing to take note of, however, is not to damage the ingredients for the sake of stealing! This would not lead to more points, but actually deduct points from your current score!”
“A card? I thought it was a jade?” A disciple evidently had heard that it was a jade- he couldn’t help but ask.
“That was an object we had previously used in past tests- technology has gotten better, and we’ve gotten better technological facilities. The cost for using the jades as recording devices had become too high,” The inn owner explained, “Alright, anything else you don’t understand? If that’s it, I’ll have you all register and pay the fee!”
The crowd all shook their heads, indicating no- what a joke, they came here to take this test, why would anyone leave for some small change in the rules? It’d just turn their trip into a waste of time and effort.
“Alright, starting from this row then- one by one, line up and register, as well as swipe your card for the payment!” The owner said to the practitioners nearest to him.
“Yes!”” The frontmost practitioner walked over and filled in their information, and was about to pay up when the owner waved his hand.
“Give me your hand, I’ll test your strength!” The inn owner said faintly.
“Can’t I just channel my practitioner’s arts? Do I have to extend my hand?” The practitioner asked, confused.
Lin Yi narrowed his eyes as well- he hadn’t seen this guy before, and it was because he had hidden in his room the whole time without coming out. It was only until the inn owner had gathered them here that he saw him for the first time!
But that wasn’t what Lin Yi was paying attention to, however. This man was actually an Earth class early phase spiritual practitioner, and had already passed the requirement paramenter! No wonder he looked so tense when the inn owner wanted to check his strength!
“No need- take out your hand!” The inn owner said fiantly.
“I…” The practitioner hesitated, but still extended his arm. He still secretly chanted his practitioner’s art, however, supressing his strength to that of a Mystic late phase peak, not showing his strength as Earth class!
“Told you you don’t need to do that,” The inn owner said as he eyed him coldly before tending to the registration info, “Chao Mountain Sect’s disciple Wo Jindao, impersonating a practitioner of Mystic late phase peak strength and hiding his strength as an Earth class early phase- is now disqualified from the test. The Chao Mountain sect will be placed into the black list, disallowed from participation for ten years!”
“Damn!” The disciple looked downrodden after hearing that- he thought that he would still be able to get through while hiding his strength, and now even his sect was banned from entering the test in ten years!
But naturally he didn’t dare argue with the people of the Ice Palace- with that, he quietly left and went back to his own sect.
Seeing this, everyone here was stunned- Lin Yi included! This inn owner was quite a man, after all! Not only was he able to hide his own strength, he could tell his opponent’s strengths just by touching his hand!
Lin Yi had that ability too, but he was using the Art of Dragon MAstery, it was his golden trump card! Meanwhile, this inn owner, someone who seemed like a mere servant of the Ice Palace, already had something of that skill!
“Anybody else hiding their strength? If you leave by yourself now, I won’t pursue responsibility of your sect or family. Otherwise, if I were the one to find out, I’ll ban your house or sect for ten years from the test as well!” The inn owner said as he gazed down the participants.
A couple of the disciples stood up, shaking their heads with a bitter smile as they left to the car park. Evidently, they had all been hiding their strengths- Lin Yi even looked at them, and to his surprise, realized that there was even an Earth class mid phase there!
Lin Yi hadn’t been checking everyone one by one after all, so this came as quite a shock.
“That’s it? Let’s continue then- but if some of you are still hiding, don’t blame me later!” With that, the inn owner pointed to another practitioner, “Your turn.”
“Yes!” It was Naipao’s follower Zhuang Naipao, who walked over respectfully and gave his information before extending his hand.
“Alright, Mystic mid phase peak,” The inn owner nodded and looked at his inf,. “Hidden house Zhuang’s Zhuang Niaopao, you can go to Elder Qing and swipe your card!”
“Yes!” With that, he walked over with a bank card in his hand…
All the other participants followed suit, one after the other.
One thing Lin Yi had noticed was that there were people who were ‘freelancer practitioners,’ in other words, people who didn’t belong to a sect or house. But the inn owner didn’t seem to care much at all- as long as they qualified, they were allowed to pay.
This really solved a major problem of Lin Yi’s- he wouldn’t know how to explain where he came from otherwise.
