Chapter 1329 – Seems Familiar
Of course, you couldn’t look down on these people- they had big men of various powerful thief sects backing them up. Crossing them would result in opposition from those sects!
These graverobbers were all extremely rich, and they weren’t afraid of paying high costs for daily items. These guys were too lazy to bring their own stuff, anyway.
The couple was an exception, though. They were arrogant but very alert, always defensive in case the others did anything to them. They bought their own food and clothes.
Xiaoke knew the rule as well, and so she brought her own backpack with compressed cookies and water, along with some tools.
Someone who needed money like her would never buy food that stupidly expensive.
After going back into the tent, Xiaoke set up her alarm system before going to sleep.
They were all of the same thieves’ community, but she was still a girl. She had to be alert when going out.
“How come that guy from the couple sounds so familiar? Xiaoke mumbled to herself. “Have I seen him somewhere before?”
Xiaoke may be of the Thieves’ industry, and she may have joined in on a couple of missions before, but she never interacted with the couple. These two always wore masks, and she should have a deep impression if she’d met them before, but…
Could it be that she met them when they were unmasked? Xiaoke froze- what a bold assumption!
Was it possible?
Xiaoke shook her head, putting it aside. They were wearing masks because they didn’t want people to know their faces, so if Xiaoke went and identified them or met with them, they might come to hate her.
She was here for money- that was it. She wouldn’t want to cause trouble.
Old Hei didn’t bother bugging Xiaoke’s tent- she was alone, and wouldn’t be having conversations for him to eavesdrop on. Plus, the Flying Sparrow sect was known for how careful they were- eavesdropping was unnecessary.
Lin Yi, on the other hand, was glaring at Lingshan after Yutian removed the listening device. “Think before you speak next time, be careful! Don’t be such an idiot!”
“Ah- Don’t call me stupid anymore, I’m sorry, come on…” Lingshan blushed a little. “I didn’t know that they’d be so cunning, bugging our tent.”
“Unless I bring the topic up, don’t talk about the plan.” Lin Yi said.
The jade alerted him when they entered, and Lin Yi subconsciously covered Lingshan’s mouth- also saying some things he didn’t mean.
There actually turned out to be a listening device in there.
“I got it!” Lingshan nodded her head, obediently.
Yutian was also listening, as well- he didn’t say anything because he didn’t speak fast enough, but it appeared that these graverobbers were much more cunning than they thought!
“When are you guys planning to catch them?” Lin Yi asked. “With the number of people and weapons they have, it’s not hard to escape, but it’s hard to take them all.”
“We’ll look at the situation- after clearing all the stages of the tomb. I’ll notify my comrades and surround this place!” Yutian said.
“All the stages? I hope so.” Lin Yi smiled, not saying anything else. The details Bojia gave him with instructions were already difficult enough- who knew what puzzles awaited afterward?
This ancient miracle saint doctor was very famous, and there were many people who knew him. They were the ones who helped design the entire tomb, with traps and puzzles. Normal people had no chance of passing.
At night, Lin Yi was sitting on the ground to practition when Lingshan and Yutian slept. They had to be rested for the operation tomorrow!
They both woke up early the next morning. They were both practitioners, and while they weren’t as good as Lin Yi, who didn’t even need to sleep, they could recover themselves in short periods of time as well.
“You guys awake? Eat something, and we’ll go to Old Hei.” Lin Yi said as he heard people walking outside- the others were awake already. Lin Yi didn’t care whether or not they were well-rested, however.
“You didn’t sleep the whole night?” Lingshan asked.
“Yeah. Don’t ask about useless stuff. Eat and let’s hurry.” Lin Yi said a bit impatiently.
Lingshan didn’t say anything else- she ate some bread with Yutian, and the three left the tent.
As expected, You Xiaoke, Keng Bro, and James were all at Old Hei’s tent. Only Old Hao wasn’t there- maybe old people weren’t as energetic as young ones.
“You guys sure are up early, too.” Old Hei smiled and greeted them as he saw the couple walk over- after hearing their conversation last night, he was treating Lin Yi with more respect!
“Hmph!” Lin Yi said coldly. “You’re the one who bugged our tent?”
“Haha, my men don’t know any better, do forgive them!” Old Hei said with a laugh, thinking that only the couple would do something like exposing someone in front of everyone. Other people would be embarrassed to bring it up normally.
But since they put that out in the open, it was easier to proceed.
“Twenty percent feels more appropriate to you now, right?” Lin Yi asked.
“Of course. If you’re able to help us in a critical moment, I’d be completely willing to give you that twenty.” Old Hei said.
“That’s good.” Lin Yi went and got a seat, ignoring everyone else and closing his eyes, as if resting. Lingshan was beside him, with Yutian standing guard behind them.
Xiaoke didn’t say anything, eating the porridge beside Old Hei’s tent. This was porridge Old Hei bought him. It was ten thousand per bowl! Xiaoke felt pain as she ate it- how much could he buy with ten thousand? She could drown the kids in porridge!
Two million may look like a lot, but rice was expensive- Xiaoke knew what the expenses were, and it wouldn’t last very long. They were at the age to be going to school, too, she had to deal with that as well!
