Chapter 588 - 480: A Little Different Towards You
Jian Mountain, Cold Mountain Academy.
A young man stood atop the peak, his gaze fixed on the white clouds scattered across the cerulean sky.
The young man had grown up. He wore a simple long robe, his posture was ramrod straight, and his chiseled, handsome face was even more striking.
In recent years, whenever he accompanied his young miss to her studies, there were always quite a few girls, their hearts budding with first love, who would sneak glances at him.
Even the noblewomen of the Demon Race who occasionally visited Cold Mountain Academy would, upon seeing the young man, inquire about which family he served.
If Tushan Jing Ci hadn’t been unwilling, Xiao Mo would have long since been bought by some noblewoman and kept as some sort of unspeakable plaything.
Xiao Mo slowly closed his eyes, sensing the world around him.
As the young man’s mind stirred, a gentle breeze swept by, and the scattered white clouds coalesced into a great white dragon.
Immediately after, the great dragon dispersed, transforming into white birds that arranged themselves in the sky as if about to migrate.
In the next instant, the hundreds of white birds became a long Immortal Sword hanging in the air, looking as if it would plunge viciously toward the ground at any moment!
The subtle rhythm of the Dao between heaven and earth coiled around the young man, lingering for a long time.
This was the middle part of the "Great Dream of Yellow Millet"—To Manifest All Things with the Mind.
The "Great Dream of Yellow Millet" didn’t contain any specific magic, but to put it another way, everything in this world was a technique of the Great Dream of Yellow Millet.
As long as his mind could reach, his power was sufficient, and he had a certain understanding of the Dao’s rhythm between heaven and earth, then a blade of grass, a leaf, a grain of sand, a cloud—any of it could become Xiao Mo’s weapon.
"Xiao Mo..."
An hour later, just as Xiao Mo had withdrawn his Spiritual Power, a young girl’s voice called out from behind him.
Xiao Mo had just turned around when he saw the girl running toward him.
She wore an aqua-green dress made of a light fabric. As she ran, its hem would lift slightly, like ripples spreading across a lake’s surface in the wind.
The dress was cinched perfectly at the waist, revealing the girl’s slender figure and soft, graceful curves.
Her snow-white hair was loosely tied with a plain ribbon. As she ran, a few strands came loose, clinging to her cheeks before being gently blown away by the wind.
Her willow-leaf brows were naturally dark, her eyes reflected the colors of spring, and when she smiled, they curved into two crescents, seeming to hold the spring waters of March. Her nose was small and straight, and her lips were a faint pink. Without a trace of makeup, she exuded a natural, vibrant aura.
The girl was now in her sweet sixteenth year. While her figure wasn’t yet fully mature, it was still lovely. She possessed a charm that was both pure and alluring, much like the girl next door who has just blossomed into a woman.
In the Mortal World, a girl of her age could even be married.
"Xiao Mo, hurry back with me. My mother is coming to see me today. She should be here soon."
Tushan Jing Ci said prettily, her voice cloyingly sweet. It was alluring without being gaudy, soft and delicate—a natural talent of the Fox Race, it seemed.
"Yes, Miss." Xiao Mo nodded.
"Let’s go down the mountain, down the mountain."
Tushan Jing Ci swung her lotus-root-like arms, walking ahead of Xiao Mo.
With every gentle flutter of her skirt, a small stone would be kicked far away by her little embroidered shoes.
Xiao Mo and Tushan Jing Ci walked through the mountain forest, passing through the dense woods.
The girl tilted her head back to look at the flowers on the branches. Sunlight filtered through the petals, casting small, dancing specks of light on her face.
Suddenly, she stood on her tiptoes, reaching for a high branch. Her sleeve slid down, revealing a section of her fair wrist.
She couldn’t reach it, but she wasn’t annoyed. Instead, she called to the young man behind her.
"Xiao Mo, I want that flower."
The girl turned her head and smiled, a pure, clean smile filled with the innocence and brightness only a sixteen-year-old could possess.
Xiao Mo didn’t answer. He simply walked forward, reached up, plucked the peach blossom she was pointing at, and handed it to her.
"Help me put it on."
The sixteen-year-old girl turned around, leaving only her back facing Xiao Mo. The fragrance of her hair wafted to his nose.
Xiao Mo seemed a bit exasperated, yet he also appeared to be quite used to this sort of thing.
He placed the peach blossom in her hair.
The snow-white strands of her hair set off the pale pink peach blossom, creating a beautiful sight.
"Ah, it’s really getting late! Let’s go, faster, faster."
Tushan Jing Ci glanced at the sky, realizing they were truly running out of time to meet her mother. She quickly grabbed Xiao Mo’s arm and pulled him forward.
They had clearly grown up.
Yet to the young girl, there seemed to be no sense of distinction between men and women.
’Come to think of it... it’s been about ten years since I came to Cold Mountain Academy,’ Xiao Mo reflected with some emotion as he walked beside the girl.
In these ten years, Jing Ci had graduated from Shallow Study Peak and moved on to Yunxiao Peak. On Yunxiao Peak, she studied the teachings of the Confucian School and had even nurtured a considerable amount of Vast Righteous Qi within her.
Recently, Jing Ci had also been preparing for an exam to become one of the Virtuous People.
In terms of cultivation, the current Jing Ci had also grown three extra tails.
For a Nine-tailed Celestial Fox, it was One Realm, One Tail.
This meant that at the tender age of sixteen, Jing Ci had reached the first of the Middle Three Realms—the Dragon Gate Realm.
By comparison, he, who was the same age as Tushan Jing Ci, was also merely at the Dragon Gate Realm.
And yet, while he wouldn’t say his daily cultivation was so intense that he forgot to eat or sleep, he was certainly diligent.
Moreover, he had consumed a great number of Elixirs and Spirit Flowers and Herbs.
But as far as Xiao Mo could recall, Jing Ci barely cultivated at all. She just slept all day.
