Chapter 1081: Chapter 445: Kaiyang Immortal Fate (Part 2)
Behind the barrier was a hundred-meter-wide waterfall, with a stone cave carved out by someone on the cliff beside it.
The edges of the stone cave were sharp and angular, and the remnants of the sharpness of blades and swords lingered on the corners, glancing at them made his pupils slightly sting.
Traces of Sword Intent.
In the memory of the Tang Sect Leader, some core areas of Immoral abodes contain the true essence of Immortal techniques left behind by previous Immortals.
The true essence can provide a greater boost to Cultivators than the typical blessings of an Immortal abode; if a Cultivator can comprehend the true essence left by an Immortal, their cultivation can advance rapidly.
Traces of Sword Intent are one kind of true essence. According to legend, a second-rate expert of the Spirit Mastery realm once comprehended Traces of Sword Intent in an Immortal abode, achieving enlightenment overnight, advancing two realms to become a Grandmaster, a mere step away from Great Grandmaster level.
However, in the Kaiyang Immortal Mansion, every sword stroke of the Immortal Mansion Master in carving the cave resulted in Traces of Sword Intent, highlighting the disparity between Kaiyang Immortal Mansion and other Immortal abodes.
Guarded by Sword Intent, Wu Chang could not directly teleport into the cave but only to the area above the hole, landing on the platform in front of the cave.
He stepped into the cave, which seemed to be the Meditation chamber of the Immortal Mansion Master, very spacious inside. As far as the eye could see, there was only a mat, an incense burner, and several lanterns hanging on the cave walls.
Wu Chang was about to explore the depths of the cave when suddenly, all the lanterns inside the cave lit up automatically with a whoosh, and at the corner of his eye, he noticed something new had appeared on the mat.
Slowly turning, he saw that at some point, a figure had appeared on the mat—that person was wearing a mask, dressed in a pure white robe, sitting cross-legged on the mat, with a Treasure Sword laid across their knees.
Although the figure’s appearance was vastly different from the image in the wooden building, Wu Chang recognized with a single glance that this was indeed the Immortal Mansion Master of Kaiyang Immortal Mansion due to their unique aura.
Feeling the solid presence of the opponent, Wu Chang squinted his eyes slightly, questioning if the Immortal Mansion Master had truly not died.
He adopted a cautious stance, approaching the Immortal Mansion Master, who also slowly rose to stand.
As the Immortal Mansion Master tightened their grip on the Treasure Sword on their knees, a surge of Sword Intent erupted—at this moment, facing the Mansion Master, Wu Chang felt as if he were facing the Wooden Carving of Martial Star Monarch.
The Immortal Mansion Master stepped quickly toward Wu Chang, raising the Treasure Sword to strike.
They bore an indescribable "Immortal" aura, as if executing this sword strike was an act of upholding the order of the universe, invoking the World’s will, irresistible.
If it were any other Cultivator, they’d likely be frightened by this aura, either surrendering helplessly or fleeing in dread.
But the Immortal Mansion Master was facing Wu Chang, who under the Blessing of Courage, had a Will Attribute exceeding 300 points, coupled with the "Blasphemer" Title, making him inherently immune to the intimidation of Gods.
Not to mention simply enforcing celestial justice—even if the Heavenly Dao of the Dungeon Plane descended in person, wanting to wield the sword or blade against Wu Chang, they’d first have to endure two of his Elbow Strikes.
For the Immortal Mansion Master to think they could intimidate him with Divine aura was truly a misguided folly.
Wu Chang wasted no time with cliché lines like "Hold on" or "Don’t make a move." He spoke only one word:
"Mamba!"
The Mamba Iron Elbow he swung out was as swift as thunder, striking the Immortal Mansion Master on the head even before their Treasure Sword could be swung down.
The forceful Elbow Strike Wu Chang launched did not provide any feedback of hitting a solid object; instead, the surrounding lights flickered off with a whoosh.
When he regained his senses, where was the body of the Immortal Mansion Master before him? Only a Longsword remained plunged in front of him.
He gazed at the Longsword, faintly hearing a hearty laugh echo in his ears.
"Brave lad! Keep your current status. If anyone dares to block your path, even if they be a celestial king, you must act decisively and without fear."
Wu Chang pursed his lips, pondering whether the Kaiyang Immortal Mansion Master was acting as a private tutor, imposing a small test before granting the Immortal fate.
He reached out to draw the Immortal Mansion Master’s sword; as it was lifted, his vision suddenly blurred, drawn into a state akin to viewing a lingering grievance.
In a daze, he became the Immortal Mansion Master, wielding a Longsword, faced with a young man of scholarly demeanor and profound gaze.
Both stood in the wilderness, behind them the walls of Zhenyue City.
The Immortal Mansion Master expressed dissatisfaction: "Megrez, what do you mean by leaving me in the city?"
The young man addressed by the Immortal Mansion Master as Megrez replied helplessly:
"One of us must guard the Ritual Grounds; it’s our true hope. Lately, the actions of Demons have grown increasingly rampant."
"You see, we’ve just left the city and are already targeted by those Demons. I can’t rest easy leaving someone else behind."
As they spoke, the clouds above them turned red, as if something was descending from the sky.
The Immortal Mansion Master snorted coldly and swung a sword upward, sending a Sword Qi rushing towards the heavens.
Infused with Divine Power, the Sword Qi was as potent as Erin, who was just a step shy of Middle Level God.
Seconds later, a giant bird-shaped Demon, split in half, plummeted from the sky. Wu Chang looked at the Demon corpse fallen at their feet, emitting a faint Divinity—at least a Demigod Level creature.
Though Megrez’s words were gratifying to the Immortal Mansion Master, they still resented being left behind and said:
"Without me, you lot can’t defeat the big boss."
"I say, rather than hoping for wisdom in future generations, why not stake everything on destroying the Demon Birth Pool?"
Megrez shook his head slightly, saying: "I don’t plan on direct confrontation, only wish to temporarily seal the Demon Birth Pool to buy some time."
The clouds above rolled over, echoing with three shrill cries from within.
