Chapter 27: 27 - Even If It Costs My Life

"Don’t worry," Dickead added. "I won’t kill your pet."

"And if I refuse?" I asked, my eyes staying locked on the space in front of me, not giving him the satisfaction of seeing my fear.

I felt his presence shift before his cheek pressed against mine. His lips grazed the corner of my mouth, a featherlight touch that sent my stomach into a sudden, painful knot. "You’ll go regardless."

Not refuting his words, I risked a look at Kurus, whose scales had gone rigid.

"Go." Dickhead’s arm loosened just enough for me to stumble free.

"Don’t believe a word he says, Noodle," I said. Leaves crunched under my boots as I spun around. "If you do, it’s a betrayal of our mate bond."

I didn’t wait for Kurus’s response. The forest blurred past as I ran, branches snagging at my hands.

Screams tore through from the distance. Monkey beastmen scrambled through the darkness, their bare feet slapping against the hardened earth as they sought the safety of their homes. Doors crashed closed in the face of the approaching threat.

Then females’ shrieks followed, each wail a fresh knife twisting in my gut. The villagers’ helplessness seeped into my bones until my muscles burned with the urge to make something bleed.

My fingers closed around the machete handles as I tore them free from their sheaths; their familiar weight settled into my palms.

Then came that clicking from beneath my feet. The earth around my boots began to shift, and the ground trembled as something rose from the dirt. Mounds of soil broke apart and split.

An oversized pair of pincers emerged, lined with barbs. A snap echoed as the pincers clacked shut.

I leaped backward, landing on a pile of broken stone.

A gigantic scorpion clawed its way out of the dirt. The tail curled over its back, and the stinger hovered above me, ready to strike.

The wind bit at my face, and the ground shifted under my boots as I squared off with the scorpion. It looked impenetrable, but an idea burned at the back of my mind, waiting for its chance.

The scorpion surged forward, its tail snapping down like a guillotine. I threw myself into the ground, sliding under its massive bulk as its pincers raked the air. My blades found the soft underbelly, and I drove them in with all the fury it deserved.

An angry hiss spilled from the monster’s maw. Its tail arched, the venomous tip seeking my flesh, yet I held firm. With my blade embedded in the creature’s soft underside, I dragged it forward, slashing the beast from belly to throat. Its innards spilled out in a rush of blue blood, splattering the ground.

"You gutless—" My chest heaved. "—fuckstain—" I hacked at what remained of the twitching carcass. "Choke on Satan’s dick—" CRUNCH. I stomped its head. "And rot—" Another slash. "In the deepest pit OF HELL!"

From the shadows, another scorpion materialized. Then another, until their bodies closed in on all sides, their clicking forming a wall of sound around me.

"Come, get your cock chopped off, you sorry excuses for insects!" I yelled, hurling myself into their midst. Sweat poured down my back as I spun, my machetes carving arcs through the air.

They fell, one after another, my blades carving them into chunks of meat. Each swing was fueled by the screams still ringing in my ears.

Some scorpions began to shift into their humanoid form, and I kicked one in the face, feeling the satisfying crack of bone as I drove its skull into the bloodied ground. I didn’t stop until their pretty faces were nothing but a bloody mess beneath my heel.

’Why does every world have such filth?’

I landed on my feet to find another scorpion-slash-human and cut off his arm before he could react.

He gaped at his severed arm in horror, the blood spurting and spraying like a geyser. "Ahhh!"

"Die!"

I cut off his head.

"Suffer!"

I cut the his cock off, then stabbed him in the eyes.

"Painfully!"

I snarled, turning to the next one. I cut off their balls and shoved them into their mouths.

"Like the ones you violated!"

Every strike of my blade was a battle cry for every victim who couldn’t fight back.

"Bleed as they did!"

They were a plague, a scourge, a pestilence that had to be exterminated. And I would see them eradicated. Even at the cost of my life.

"I can sense another female’s scent at the back of the village!"

Cursing under my breath, I fled the crime scene.

"Wait! Don’t go that way! There are two cold-blooded! Turn back!"

That’s where Dickhead and Noodle were. I grabbed a rock and chucked it at the eagle beastman. He didn’t see it coming and collided with it mid-air. He squawked, stumbling before righting himself.
