Beastmaster of the Ages
Chapter 4577 - Tenth Reincarnation
Tianming felt as if his own heart was being shredded apart as he watched everything vanish. Dao San was gone for good, so were Li Muyang and Wei Jing. All that remained before him was an empty void and the echoes of his screams.
His parents' final smile of release was permanently seared in his mind. They seemed to be at peace right before their passing, having done what they could for him in the Realm of Chaos.
The sights of Li Tianzi and Mu Qingqing vanishing flashed across his mind once more, filling him with incredible vexation. He had had a complete family in the Realm of Chaos. Even though his grandparents had become skypole stars, his parents were still around, not to mention his brother and Mu Qingqing. They were all gone now, leaving the Realm of Chaos bleak and cold, as if none of that had happened.
"Dad, Mom..." Tianming gripped his fists, rage filling his eyes as the mad rage flowed within him.
All of a sudden, two seemingly eternal radiances appeared before him. Then, two figures shorter than two meters stepped out of those radiances, much to his shock. They seemed really familiar to him, yet he also felt that he hadn't seen them for a long time. The guesses that surfaced in his mind shook him greatly.
Eventually, the radiance faded. The two figures that appeared were none other than Li Muyang and Wei Jing, but they were clearly not the same as their counterparts in the Realm of Chaos. My parents from the Realm of Chaos were the first reincarnations of their originals! But the two here are my real parents! The ones from their tenth reincarnation!
Tianming's eyes immediately turned red when he saw them. Finally, his parents appeared before him once more! It had been far too long since he last saw them.
He recalled the massive purple eye of Di Yi in the Xenoworld. Just as he was about to completely fall prey to it, his parents appeared to save him. Li Muyang's presence back then had seemed really hazy, yet he stood mightily against Di Yi all the same. The next time he saw them was at Ebonia, but that was far too long ago.
He had grown to a height of seventy thousand meters, so the size discrepancy between him and his parents was beyond comical. Even then, he saw his cherished parents as far larger than life.
"Dad? Mom?" Tianming's tears flowed endlessly as he looked at them with disbelief. His massive body kneeled to the ground and tried to bend down, and even then, his parents still felt far too distant from him.
Li Muyang and Wei Jing didn't appear in their actual bodies. Instead, they resembled light projections of some kind within that unstable space. They were filled with real emotion all the same, feeling rather overwhelmed when they saw their son. Wei Jing, especially, teared up without being able to say a word.
They had been forced by the circumstances to leave Tianming to his own devices. They also knew that their son had survived far too many ordeals along the way.
Wei Jing stretched her hand out and tried to touch his massive face. She could sense the sheer depth of the experiences that he had gone through in his journey across the universe, going all the way from mortal to cosmic god. It had been an incredibly bumpy journey. In fact, Tianming had taken his final step within this universe. The projections of the Aeternal Beings were beginning to be wiped out.
Wei Jing smiled tearfully and looked intensely at her son. "You've grown so large since the last time I've seen you. Looks like your wives are feeding you well."
Hearing those words convinced Tianming that these two were absolutely the parents that raised him. Only the tenth reincarnations of Li Muyang and Wei Jing would joke with him like this.
"Dad, Mom, you're finally here." He didn't look away in the slightest, afraid that they would vanish without warning.
"Wipe away your tears," Wei Jing said. "Even a single drop of that would drown us, you know."
Tianming's tears of joy flowed as he laughed. He was still quite shaken by seeing his parents from the Realm of Chaos fade away.
Wei Jing could see that this was the case and said, "Silly child, the ones who just passed away were our past versions. Our first reincarnations died a hundred thousand years ago. If that hadn't happened, we wouldn't have reincarnated a second time, followed by the rest until we reached our tenth life. That's how you came about, Tianming.
"The versions of us that you spent time with in the Realm of Chaos was nothing but the continuation of the consciousnesses of our first reincarnations. In some way, you could say that they never truly died, but reentered the cycle of reincarnation to eventually become us. So, don't be sad for their passing. They are us. We are them, understood?"
Tianming found the explanation rather odd. The parents from the Realm of Chaos were indeed versions of his parents' first reincarnations that had come about after the original Li Muyang died and used the Cyclic Reflector.
If the first doesn't end, there wouldn't be a second. My parents' lives continue through each cycle of reincarnation. They have always been the same people. The fact that their tenth reincarnation is still here means that they're still alive.
Only after he thought this through did he start to recover from his grief. Yet, even if this was the case for his parents, what about Li Tianzi and Mu Qingqing? He had far too many questions for his parents.
