Chapter 3838 - Another Explosion
Chapter 3838 - Another Explosion
"Trying to leave?" Fentian He's eyes blazed as he coldly glared at Tianming. The grand scorchpath suanni was the strongest one there and it was completely unharmed. Fentian He sat on its back as they charged toward Tianming.
Fentian He had displayed immense speed when he’d flown across the void of space, but the suanni was even faster. It wildly galloped, rapidly propelling it across space like flowing magma after a volcanic explosion. Even without looking back, Tianming could tell that the space behind him had been swallowed up by flames and light. Even someone in a distant divine astralship would be able to see what was happening; cosmic gods simply caused too much commotion.
"You came all this way to challenge us, only to run when you realized that you couldn't defeat us. Who do you think we are? We aren't so charitable as to grant you a free training session," Fentian He spat, his voice echoing like the hum of a scorching hot forge.
Tianming's astral glow couldn't truly rival a true cosmic god's, but his speed was fast indeed. Like a giant sword of black and gold, he shot across space with Meow Meow's Fiveway Blitzrun. Every time the lightning bolt twisted, Fentian He would grasp nothing but air.
It was clear to see that Fentian He didn't glow nearly as bright as the grand scorchpath suanni. A few charred spots were even visible where Tianming had injured him. There was no way he could personally catch Tianming, so he had to rely on his lifebound beast! From that, it was clear to see why Tianming had dared to challenge him in the first place. He definitely had a means to safely leave if he so chose. Even before the fight had begun, Tianming had known that his chances of winning were less than half, even with all those omnisentient threads.
"Here's another gift for you!" Right as the suanni was about to pounce, Tianming flashed ahead as a pink middlekin star suddenly landed behind him! That was all thanks to Fentian He. The more they fought, the brighter the light coming from the cosmic gods grew, causing them to outshine the light of the pink middlekin star, which would have otherwise been quite visible in empty space!
"It's these things again!" Fentian He roared as his expression contorted once more. His suanni had seen it before and rapidly changed course as it used its cosmoforce to form a fiery shield that mainly defended Fentian He before itself; its master couldn't afford to get hurt any more.
Right as the shields formed, the pink middlekin star exploded and released even more energy than before, thanks to Ji Ji's mass increase! Even with the same class of middlekin star, it packed a few times more power than it had before. The most crucial thing was the speed of detonation. The faster it went off, the more likely their target would be hit! Infinitum-class middlekin stars had the same mass as Ebonia, but were compressed into a much smaller form. An explosion from such a massive object under so much compression was nothing to scoff at!
Blinding pink light instantly filled the projections of the Starmoon Skyveil and many concentric rings of power formed around the explosion site. Everything behind Tianming turned completely pink as he was sent flying by the force, speeding him up even more. He knew for certain that there was no way Fentian He would be able to catch up with him now. Knowing that Tianming had Yin Chen and Ji Ji, he would think thrice before he took any rash action.
Tianming admitted that he was unable to defeat Fentian He as he currently was. Cosmic gods weren't supposed to be easy to kill, after all. He returned to the Ninedragon Imperial Tomb as quickly as he could before piloting it off into the depths of space with the explosion behind him, giving off a persistent pink radiance that could rival that of a fortuna-class world.
"Sheesh, it's so annoying that I have to blow things up again and again," Ji Ji's spiritform complained.
"Well, what else is a mindblowing beauty like you supposed to be doing?" Tianming said.
"I like the sound of that," it said with a pout, "but I have to go and charge back up."
"Alright, go ahead." There were more middlekin stars in the Ninedragon Imperial Tomb for it to use.
Tianming landed before the 1.5 billion flameyellow descendants, who silently looked at him as they teared up. "I apologize for not being able to properly satisfy you all with that fight."
"It isn’t that...." They continued intently staring at Tianming.
From the omnisentient threads, Tianming felt their agitation from all that he had done for them. They had felt themselves going up against a cosmic god in a fight! The notion had been completely unthinkable to them not too long ago. All the while, they had been oppressed by the Eightpart Pantheons without any means for recourse. But today, while they hadn't managed to completely overthrow their oppressors yet, they had at least harmed them.
With this first step, their faith has been strengthened. We can proceed to the next steps! Nobody was in a rush to make anything happen. Still, the way today's fight turned out will have decent results once news spreads in Starmoon Haven. His deed was far more impressive than sneaking into the divine tomb to capture the young geniuses or killing the people at the Middlekin Star Ruin. He’d wounded a cosmic god and had managed to retreat unscathed!
It turned out exactly as Tianming predicted. Though Fentian He had used the Starmoon Skyveil in an attempt to boost his renown, it’d ended up benefiting Tianming instead. Discussions about the duel raged throughout the cities in Starmoon Haven. The ones with the bloodlines of the Eightpart Pantheons definitely hadn’t missed the projection. They had witnessed an overflower force a young cosmic god into a corner for the first time. The expressions of people in Starmoon Haven were funny to behold.
"What kind of monster is he...." They had known from the beginning that Tianming was formidable, but seeing it with their own eyes made them feel even worse. To think that such a ridiculous existence belonged with the slaves.
"He seems like some kind of world-ender!"
"Is he really a slave? If not, our Sundown Pantheon can take him in! Why's there a need to fight someone like that?"
"He's already taken the side of the slaves and fights for them!"
"Yeah, but the cosmic gods were the ones who forced his hand! Maybe he'd still be willing to accept an olive branch! Who’d be willing to help the slaves the Heavenly Dao condemned if they had a choice? That's just asking for trouble!"
As the discussions raged on, not a single person still called Tianming a stinkbug.
