Chapter 2816 - Is the Witch Dead

The sanctlighters were rather distraught with the classic, outdated mode of combat. The Souldaemon Wings' assault and the pressure from Yi Daiyan's foundation fortress, as well as her crazy sword ki, caused corpses to rain down without end in the Sacrosanct Sea. The white nova source that congregated there had been fully stained with blood. It was nothing short of a sight from the infernal hells.

The death of millions had just been the start. The moment Yi Daiyan had brought her totems out, the deaths increased by quite a lot. Only astral gods were able to escape total annihilation at that moment.

Yi Daiyan's cold voice could be heard from above; it was the first thing she said since she had invaded their defensive formation. "The sanctlighters have chosen to stand against the Infinitum Bodhimanda. For that, everyone among them, from top to bottom, shall die, and that still isn't enough to atone for their crimes."

Her words pierced the ears of the sanctlighters like sharp needles, sending chills down their spines. It was a show of her disapproval for their rebellious actions. She sped around the Sacrosanct Sea like a high-speed meat grinder, eradicating anyone that was close to her. She set her sights on the Sanctifiers. A few of them daringly challenged her, but even twelfth-level cosmic cartographers were unable to hold up to a single strike and perished in despair.

"Spread out! Attack her with astralships!" They suddenly recalled the other option they had in their arsenal. Many elites had already escaped into their astralships; there were around twenty ether-class ships that were filled with the most important sanctlighters.

"Spread out!"

"Astralships, get into formation!"

It was normally really hard for ships to target individual cultivators, but Yi Daiyan's gargantuan wings made her a sizable target. Not to mention, there were so many ships that they easily surrounded her.

"Don't care about anything else in range. Just eradicate everything in her region!" They were going to carpet-bomb the entire area. There were still quite a few elite sanctlighters fighting Yi Daiyan, but the clan's elders and top elites no longer had the luxury to care.

"Kill that witch!"

"Keep her there while we charge up!"

"Lock her in! We have the right angle!"

While it was hard for a single ship to hit a small target, if they sealed up the entire space and bombarded it without a care, there was a good chance they would hit. Even if they didn't, they could still wear her down. They began staggering their attacks for the first wave.

"First wave, unleash!"

The sanctlighters that were still fighting had been completely given up on. Tens of sanctuary-class astralships or better fired at the center of the sealed region. Raging waves formed over the entire surface as many more corpses fell into the waters as the fighters at the center of the strike zone were completely vaporized alongside their beasts.

"Second wave, release!" The other tens of ships finished charging up and unleashed their nova source blasts. Then came the third, fourth, and fifth waves... all the way up to the tenth! The sanctlighters were absolutely horrified, but they didn't know whether Yi Daiyan had survived or not. All they did was keep up their attacks so as to not give her any chances. Had they been fighting on the ground, it would all be over. But they were now airborne, so the repeated blasts put so much pressure on space itself that it tore and twisted! Not even infinitum-class nova wildbeasts would be able to survive that.

"Is she dead?"

"Who cares! Keep firing!"

The elites within the ether-class ships—Lightwing, Glory, and Prestige—watched with bated breath and cold sweat.

"Is the witch dead or not?!" someone frantically shrieked.

"Stop! That's enough!"

The sanctlighters had unleashed more than twenty attack waves in an incredibly short time, lighting up a good part of Ebonia's skies. The eye-shaped Sacrosanct Sea seemed to be much wider than before. While they weren't sure if Yi Daiyan was still alive, at the very least, more than three million sanctlighters had been completely vaporized. Many more of them had been injured by the aftershock.

War came without warning, and it always brought cruelty without exception. That was the true nature of the world of cultivation and astral wars. Tianming had witnessed such a sight when the Sun pierced through Skywolf's two stars and completely destroyed those worlds. However, Ebonia had been at peace for far too long, so the lofty regal clans reacted even more agitatedly to the sight of the true horror of existence.

Even astral gods were nothing when faced with pure nova source. Even then, human nature was such that not even the horrors of war would stop them from committing them. There would always be people who would jump at that chance.

"Is the witch finally dead?!"

Before everyone else, he saw a white-haired witch in the depths of the mist, completely unharmed. She turned her head, as if she was looking straight at him, and smiled. The next instant, billions of strands of sword ki formed around her hand and blasted toward his ship, the Prestige.

"Evade!" Shengguang Huang quickly got the ship to swerve, but the huge ship was far too slow. With a loud bang and flash, the ship was penetrated!
