Chapter 1357 - 555: Dragon City Conference! Holy Spirit Earthquake!
Chapter 1357: Chapter 555: Dragon City Conference! Holy Spirit Earthquake!
Dragon City! It was still as magnificent as ever. Endless elemental energy rolled, and dragon roars echoed from an unknown source. This was the sole core of Dragon Country and the highest echelon of Dragon Nation, where all the top figures would gather. Today seemed to be quite a special day. Through the spatial passage outside Dragon City, figures walked in one after another, arriving at the Dragon Platform suspended between reality and illusion.
This place was known as the Dragonview Platform, also called the Dragon Ascending Platform. It was divided into four levels. The topmost level was where the Legend of the Holy Dragon usually worked. The remaining three levels were resting areas for visiting Dragon Tamers, while also serving other functions.
Right now, in a massive conference room with an adjoining terrace on the third level, figures arrived one after another, something no one had expected.
"Oh ho, Wu Kuang, you’re actually back? What have you been doing lately? Don’t tell me you went to the outer universe to be a mining slave again? Hahaha!"
"Old Chen, that foul mouth of yours hasn’t improved one bit!"
"Tsk, what do you guys think? Why did the lord summon us this time?"
"No idea. Even the one who’s been constantly researching breakthroughs is here."
"Lord Wolf Saint has arrived too?"
"Yeah! He’s out on the terrace, chatting with Poison Saint."
"Chatting? More like reprimanding her, heh..."
"Go say that to Poison Saint yourself. She might be afraid of Lord Wolf Saint, but she’s certainly not afraid of us!"
"Speaking of which, where is Leng Ao? Why is he so late?"
"..."
The meeting hadn’t officially started, and the Legend of the Holy Dragon hadn’t officially arrived yet. Many people in the conference room indeed hadn’t seen each other in a while, so they chatted passionately. At this moment, a figure slowly paced over to another who was weighed down by heavy thoughts.
"Meng Yao, what are you thinking about all by yourself here?"
Meng Yao turned his head, glanced at the approaching Sang Sheng, and forced a smile. "Nothing much. Do you need something, Lord Sang Sheng?"
Sang Sheng’s brows furrowed slightly. Compared to everyone else who had arrived, her brows had been lightly knitted the entire time. Looking at Meng Yao, she said, "Meng Yao, is it because of Su Ping?"
At these words, Meng Yao’s pupils shrank slightly. "You know?" His voice grew much quieter.
Sang Sheng nodded, then shook her head. "I’m not the only one who knows. Don’t be fooled by these old guys putting on an act; they can probably all guess it. However, there still hasn’t been any news from the Northern Heaven Tomb. Could it be...?"
Meng Yao’s face turned somewhat pale. Apart from their significant mutual interests, he and Su Ping genuinely shared a good personal relationship. The fact that the Holy Dragon had suddenly summoned everyone at this critical juncture had to be related. The problem was, if Su Ping was fine, why would the Holy Dragon gather so many people at once? Obviously, based on Meng Yao’s guess, it was highly likely that something had truly gone wrong with Su Ping.
The best possible outcome was that he had fallen into some sort of trap. The hidden scheme from the last press conference had materialized, meaning that old ghost Charles had indeed laid a snare. Therefore, the Holy Dragon had gathered everyone to demand an explanation from Eagle Country. This was already the best-case scenario. If it was anything worse... Meng Yao didn’t dare think any further.
Because in his mind, it was hard to imagine that the brat who seemingly could do anything had truly fallen in that wretched place. Damn that Leng Ao! At this thought, Meng Yao clenched his small fists.
Seeing Ray Saint’s emotional state, Sang Sheng said nothing, though a hint of worry surfaced in her eyes as well.
BUZZ!
For a moment, the entire Dragon Ascending Platform seemed to tremble slightly. The next second, everyone’s noisy chatter stopped in unison, and they all looked toward the main doors. They knew that the current ruler of Dragon City had arrived.
Even the two figures who had remained on the terrace walked inside. A young woman stepped forward first. Though she was still dressed in colorful clothing, it was much more restrained than before, and she wore a sour expression as if her father had just died. Behind her was another figure. It was an incredibly robust old man, standing over 2.2 meters tall, with long grayish-white hair tied into a ponytail. His eyes weren’t distinctly black and white like a human’s; instead, they resembled the pupils of a wolf. Being stared at by him was enough to make one’s whole body run cold. However, even he turned his gaze toward the main doors upon stepping inside.
Sure enough.
The doors were soon pushed open, and the first to appear before everyone was Leng Ao, bearing a placid expression. No one could read anything from his face. Then, heavy footsteps rang out as the Legend of the Holy Dragon slowly walked in. Seeing everyone present, the Legend of the Holy Dragon nodded, actually revealing a faint smile.
Hm?
At this moment, even Sang Sheng, who had prepared for the worst, was slightly taken aback.
"Is everyone here? Then take your seats! The guest of honor will arrive shortly, so let’s chat in the meantime."
Hm?
What did this mean?
However, since things had already reached this point, no one rushed to ask questions. They obediently sat in the front seats and looked toward the Legend of the Holy Dragon. The latter coughed lightly, and Leng Ye, who was beside him, stood up first and said:
