The beast lunged forward again with its another massive clawed hand swinging in a brutal arc aimed straight for Aiden’s chest.

Aiden didn’t even flinch. He simply caught the descending arm between two fingers of his free hand just as easily as he had caught the previous hand, stopping the blow cold. The impact rang out like a struck bell, yet his stance remained perfect, unmoving.

"Easy there." Aiden said with a lazy grin, still holding the arm in place.

The beast’s purple eyes narrowed to slits, a deep snarl rumbling from its throat. It twisted violently, trying to rip its arm free, but Aiden only squeezed once—lightly, almost playfully. The monster staggered backward.

Before it could recover, Aiden stepped inside its reach, close enough that the creature’s hot breath washed over his face. He released on hand and drove a single, light punch straight into its chest.

The impact was so soft it barely registered as a punch, yet the force was enough. The beast’s body lifted off the ground, slammed backward into a thick oak trunk, and burst straight through the wood with a thunderous crack. The tree exploded into splinters; the monster’s hulking form was hurled fifty feet deeper into the forest, crashing through two more trunks before it finally skidded to a stop in a cloud of dust and broken branches.

Aiden dusted his hands off, still smiling. "One punch. That’s all it took."

Aiden rolled his shoulders once, the corners of his lips lifting in easy amusement as he stared at the monstrous beast in front of him.

Purple light bled through the shadows from the beast’s markings, staining the dark woods in an eerie glow.

The creature rose from the ground with a furious roar.

Its obsidian fur bristled. Purple cracks of energy raced across its body like living lightning beneath its skin. The crystal embedded in its forehead blazed brighter, and from the corners of its mouth purple energy began to leak in smoking strands, hissing as it touched the ground. Its wings unfurled to their full size with a purple snap, kicking up dead leaves and dust in a spiraling gale.

Aiden’s grin widened.

"There we go," he said, voice relaxed, almost pleased. "Now you’re starting to look like something worth playing with."

Aiden grinned and ran, making sure that the two bunny girl won’t be hurt because of their confrontation, as he stopped in front of a large tree.

The beast answered by launching itself toward him.

It didn’t just run. It exploded.

One second it was crouched, the next it was already in Aiden’s face, maw wide open, jaws glowing with compressed purple force. It bit for his head. Aiden leaned back with lazy precision, the fangs snapping shut less than an inch from his nose. Purple energy blasted from the beast’s mouth at the same time—a concentrated beam that carved through the air where his face had just been.

BOOM.

The beam hit a cluster of ancient trees behind him. Bark, splinters, and purple-lit smoke erupted outward.

Aiden pivoted on one heel, raised one hand, and slapped the beast’s snout aside like he was redirecting an overeager dog. The creature skidded past him, claws gouging trenches into the forest floor, then twisted with frightening agility and whipped its tail around. The tail screamed through the air toward Aiden’s ribs.

Aiden hopped over it, landed lightly on the beast’s back for half a heartbeat, and pushed off again just as dark-purple aura erupted from the monster’s body in a purple pulse. The aura shredded leaves, snapped branches, and blasted apart the nearby undergrowth.

The two bunny girls cried out and curled tighter against the base of the tree.

The younger one trembled so hard the herb in her hands shook like it might fall apart.

"He’s... strong..." the older girl whispered in disbelief.

Because he was.

Aiden landed in the middle, hands in his pockets for a second before he finally pulled them free. The beast took to the air with one powerful beat of its wings. Wind tore through the trees. It climbed above him, purple eyes burning, then dove like a falling nightmare.

Its claws came first, aiming to rip him apart.

Aiden sidestepped.

The claws tore through the ground, exploding dirt and roots into the air. Before the beast could recover, Aiden drove a fast kick into its jaw. The blow cracked through the forest like thunder. The monster’s massive head snapped to the side, but instead of falling, it used the momentum to spin midair and fire another beam from its mouth.

This one was wider. Wilder.

A torrent of purple force screamed toward him.

Aiden vanished from where he stood.

The beam ripped a molten scar across the ground, gouging through trees in a straight line until the distant woods lit up with purple fire. Aiden reappeared already inside the beast’s guard, having slipped beneath the beam by a hair’s breadth. He planted a palm against the creature’s chest and shoved.

It looked almost gentle.

The result was not.

The beast shot backward through the air, wings flailing as it smashed through branches high above. Before it could stabilize, Aiden was already beneath it. He sprang upward, twisting his body and driving a heel into its abdomen. The impact folded the monster around the strike and sent it careening toward the forest floor.

It crashed—but recovered immediately, wings flaring at the last second. Instead of hitting fully, it skimmed the ground, then surged back up wrapped in a storm of purple aura. The air around it distorted. Energy dripped from its fangs in steaming ribbons.

"Oh?" Aiden murmured. "Still energetic."

The beast answered with rage.

It vanished into a blur of claws and wings.

One slash came from the right. Aiden blocked with his forearm.

Another came low. He lifted a knee and knocked the talons away.

A bite lunged for his throat. He caught the upper jaw with one hand and the lower jaw with the other and held the maw open, purple energy gathering inside it, crackling brighter by the second.

For an instant the beast and Aiden locked eyes.

Aiden smirked. "Bad idea."

He twisted to the side just as the beam discharged. The monster’s own attack shot past him and tore through a giant tree behind them, splitting the trunk in half. Before the beast could wrench free, Aiden slammed his forehead lightly into its snout—almost mockingly. The monster reeled. Aiden followed with a short kick to its shoulder, then another to its ribs, then a spinning kick that sent it skidding across the clearing like a thrown boulder.

The forest trembled. Birds erupted from the treetops in panicked flocks.

Still, the beast rose.

Its breathing turned harsher. The glow of its markings intensified until it looked carved from midnight and lightning. Its wings spread wide, and a dense mantle of purple aura cloaked its entire body. The crystal on its forehead pulsed—once, twice, three times—then dozens of purple projectiles burst into existence around it like floating spears.

The younger bunny girl gasped. "Please... Defeat it."

Aiden cracked his neck.

The projectiles launched all at once.

He moved.

To the girls, it became impossible to follow. Aiden blurred through the storm of purple bolts, weaving between them with maddening ease. One passed his cheek. Another skimmed his shoulder. A third he slapped away with the back of his hand. The rest slammed into the forest, erupting in blasts of purple fire that bathed the clearing in flashing light.

Then the beast descended from above, both claws raised for a killing blow, jaws overflowing with surging energy.

Aiden looked up.

"Finally serious?"

He met the first claw with his bare hand and shoved it aside. The second he avoided by turning his body just enough to let it scrape past his uniform. The bite came immediately after, but Aiden drove his knee upward into the creature’s lower jaw, snapping its mouth shut so hard the gathered energy detonated inside in a muffled burst. The monster shrieked in pain and fury, wings beating violently as it staggered upward into the air again.

That was when Aiden laughed.

"Much better."

Enraged beyond reason, the beast flew higher, then folded its wings and shot downward in one final desperate assault, purple aura streaming behind it like a comet’s tail. Its mouth opened wide, energy overflowing. Its claws stretched forward. Its whole body became a living projectile.

Aiden stood still.

At the very last instant, he stepped in.

Not back. Forward.

His body turned. His feet planted. His fist drew back.

And as the beast came hurtling through the air at full speed, Aiden drove one single punch straight into its chest.

The sound was monstrous.

A circular shockwave exploded outward from the point of impact, flattening grass, snapping branches, and sending dead leaves spiraling through the forest. The beast’s charge halted instantly—then reversed with catastrophic force. It was launched downward like a meteor. It smashed into the ground so hard the earth caved in beneath it, forming a crater of broken soil, shattered roots, and splintered stone. The entire forest shook.
