Beast Taming: I'm Really Just a Forest Ranger
Chapter 612 - 280: Will the Sky Tyrant Become Chen Yuan’s Mount Pet Beast? (Part 3)
Thinking of this, Chen Yuan’s eyes brightened, and his heart suddenly raced.
If not advancing now, then when could he?
But after glancing at Cola, Chen Yuan forcibly suppressed his eagerness, calmly saying, "No rush, let’s wait half an hour first."
Waiting for half an hour would allow Cola to recover from exhaustion and observe whether the fierce wind showed signs of subsiding.
According to Spark’s previous advancement experience, advancing from Commander to Morning Star would take at least half a day.
If he advanced halfway and the fierce wind suddenly disappeared, wouldn’t that be a waste of these advancement resources?
The more critical the moment, the more careful consideration is required.
"Ow..."
Seeing his master’s decision, although Cola was unwilling, he obediently listened.
Feeling really uncomfortable, Cola grew more restless as he watched the distant swirling wind, so he buried his head, digging into the snow with his paws to alleviate his agitation.
Cola’s digging speed became faster, his paws moving so quickly they left afterimages, large clumps of snow being excavated and thrown around.
"Ying ying ying~"
Sprite tilted his head, looking at Cola, his eyes suddenly lit up, thinking this was an interesting game.
I want to play, I want to play!
Sprite mimicked Boss Cola’s movements, extending his chubby paws to dig into the snow, forming a stark contrast with Cola’s slow speed and low efficiency.
Chen Yuan helplessly glanced at the two little ones, then lifted his gaze to the Lin Xiao Beast ahead.
Indeed a fierce-looking pet beast, bringing him back to the farm would surely cause quite a stir.
Moreover... Chen Yuan squinted, scrutinizing him carefully, muttering to himself: "With such a large body, his meal size must be astonishing."
"No way, the farm already has a Fallen Meteor Horned Beast, can’t have another glutton."
"Besides, I don’t need a ride-pet beast, bringing him back would be purely for show."
Under Chen Yuan’s prolonged gaze, even the Sky Tyrant, reigning over Pudaxue Mountain, felt inexplicable tension, his limbs involuntarily tightening, showing a hint of unease in his eyes.
What would this human do with me?
Meeting the tense gaze of the Lin Xiao Beast, Chen Yuan chooses his words, politely declining: "Sorry, you’re a good pet beast, but the farm’s work is saturated, we currently don’t need such an excellent pet beast like you."
He paused, giving the Lin Xiao Beast a slight smile: "So, you’re free."
Lin Xiao Beast: "???"
After hearing Chen Yuan’s words, the Lin Xiao Beast, with bewildered eyes, stood dumbfounded, seemingly not comprehending the implied meaning.
A moment later, he widened his eyes in disbelief: "Roar???"
He was refused?
Refused by the human to serve as a ride-pet beast?
An endless surge of frustration and indignation flooded his mind, the Lin Xiao Beast roared in rage, stirring up a fierce wind.
Yet, Spark glancing at him lightly made the Lin Xiao Beast flinch, causing the wind to dissipate, as he pretended to stomp the snow forcefully with his paws.
Why???
Why look down on me?
Why not let me become your ride-pet beast?
Full of confusion, Chen Yuan glanced at the intensely reactive Lin Xiao Beast.
This was his first encounter with a pet beast with such a peculiar demand.
As Pudaxue Mountain’s Sky Tyrant, shouldn’t he have his own pride and dignity, unable to accept becoming a human’s riding beast?
Though puzzled, considering each pet beast’s different personality, he continued to explain: "It’s not about you."
"My farm is too small, you wouldn’t have enough space to move around."
"You’re so remarkable, you should remain here, dominating the skies and soaring beneath the heavens."
"A small farm is not suitable for you."
The Lin Xiao Beast stared intently at Chen Yuan; after hearing his words, his face still carried a look of indignation: "Roar, roar, roar!"
I don’t care!
No human can reject my request!
I insist on becoming your ride-pet beast!
Seeing the Lin Xiao Beast’s stubbornness, Jiang Wenning and the others laughed, while Chang Yuhuan took out a camera to record this beast’s current appearance.
It was Chen Yuan’s first encounter with such an odd pet beast, not needing him to utter enticing words of free meals and lodging, yet surprising him with its extreme eagerness to be involved.
He sighed helplessly, patiently persuading: "You’re great, truly great."
"But you’re the Sky Tyrant, belonging here."
"I cannot take you with me."
After being rejected three times by Chen Yuan, the Lin Xiao Beast struggled to restrain his fury, wanting to erupt with fierce winds to swallow everything, yet Spark’s gaze ultimately calmed him.
With a deep look at the human who repeatedly refused him, the Lin Xiao Beast fiercely flapped his wings, taking to the sky.
His aggressive face still showed emotions of indignation as his figure rose into the sky, swiftly vanishing into the night.
"Truly a strange guy." Chen Yuan shook his head, no longer paying attention to the peculiar Lin Xiao Beast, instead directing his gaze at Cola.
Unnoticed, nearly half an hour passed, Cola was back in peak condition, Chen Yuan’s eyes burning with intensity as he asked seriously: "Cola, are you ready?"
"Ow ow!"
Cola raised his head abruptly, his cries full of anticipation.
I am always ready to defeat the boss!
"Chirp?"
Spark tilted his head, looking at Cola, eyes full of confusion.
Panicking briefly, Cola nearly exposed his true intentions, quickly proclaiming: "Ow ow!"
I am ready to advance!
"Good." Chen Yuan nodded slightly, handing two Heart-Seeing Flowers and a Hurricane Core to Cola, speaking steadily, "Then these items are for you, don’t rush, make sure not to lose them."
"Ow!"
Cola carefully gathered the advancement resources with a gust of wind, nodding heavily.
"One more thing." Chen Yuan looked Cola in the eye, taking out a sports camera from his backpack, "I’ll join you inside to set up this camera."
This sudden advancement ceremony left him unable to contact Association staff to be present at the scene, so he had to resort to this traditional method.
Fortunately, unlike Spark’s advancement, a sports camera didn’t need to withstand fiery testing; it just needed not to be swept away by the wind this time.
With everything prepared, Chen Yuan planned to secure the sports camera to a large rock, fully recording Cola’s advancement process.
With all arrangements in place, the eager Cola charged into the fierce wind with Chen Yuan.
