Beast Taming: I'm Really Just a Forest Ranger
Chapter 595 - 274: Blizzard! Operation Rescue Niuniu! (Part 3)
This may seem like a challenge, but it’s actually a task.
Chen Yuan’s refusal was too decisive, leaving the four people stunned. However, they were not the type to give up easily, and followed closely behind Chen Yuan, trying to change his mind with persistence.
After a while,
seeing that Chen Yuan still hadn’t relented, they shifted their gaze to the other three people.
Jiang Wenning, annoyed, frowned slightly, "Aren’t you going to climb the mountain?"
One of the students replied, "Isn’t battling more fun than climbing a mountain?"
"Climbing a mountain is just a leisure activity. It’s much more interesting to have a Pet Beast battle in our spare time." A tall, thin boy answered.
But Chen Yuan and his three companions were there specifically to climb the snowy mountain. They did not want to waste time on Pet Beast battles, so they ignored the battle invitation and continued climbing straight ahead.
As they moved forward,
the previously sparse snow suddenly became heavier, and a breeze began to whisper at their ears.
In no time, the light snow turned into a snowdrift, the breeze became a strong wind, and heaven and earth were suddenly overturned.
The snowflakes sliced like Wind Blades, stinging faces painfully, and breaths quickly froze in their nostrils, as they were engulfed in the blizzard.
Vision was swallowed by the boundless snowstorm, and looking ahead, all that could be seen was a vast expanse of white; the path to the mountain top had vanished.
"No way!"
The drastic change in weather raised Li Junyue’s high alert, and he had the large Ink Tree Spirit stand in front of everyone, yet even so, his voice was almost swallowed by the blizzard: "We must think of something!"
He shouted at the top of his lungs: "Let’s find a place to take shelter first!"
Chen Yuan tightly held onto his mask, staring ahead, his expression gradually becoming serious: "Alright!"
This sudden blizzard was much more intense than what they encountered in the Mysterious Forest; walking was extremely difficult, and a slight error could lead to being consumed by the blizzard.
Last time it was due to the thick snow making the path impassable; this time it was because of the blizzard itself.
Too fierce, too terrifying, it was the first time Chen Yuan, after becoming a Beastmaster, witnessed the ferocity of nature.
"Yin~yin~"
The little Twin Flower Concubine tried to poke its head out to watch, but Chen Yuan pressed it back into his coat pocket: "Stay inside."
Given the size of the Twin Flower Concubine, it would likely be swept away by the wind in an instant, vanishing without a trace.
Fortunately, the other Pet Beasts reacted much better, especially Cola, who was adept at wind-riding.
"Ow, ow, ow!"
Faced with such a fierce wind, Cola seemed unfazed, dashing through the gale, its hair flowing with the wind, barking excitedly.
But it was only Cola.
At this moment, the four students could no longer concern themselves with issuing any battle invitations; they advanced with difficulty, aided by their Pet Beasts, moving slowly.
No one spoke; everyone was battling the blizzard while trudging forward with great effort and slowness.
Chen Yuan even sent Cola ahead to find a place to shelter from the wind and snow.
"Ow, ow~"
Concerned for its master’s safety, Cola hesitated initially.
But when Spark gave it a slight nod, the latter reluctantly nodded back, swished its tail, and charged into the wind and snow.
With the help of a recessed rock wall, they managed to take shelter from the storm and catch their breath.
But the rock wall was cramped, and everyone was squeezed together, which was very uncomfortable. Plus, the blizzard continued to lash past from the side, staying here was not a long-term solution.
Chen Yuan’s eyes were deep: "We have to think of a solution."
Li Junyue frowned deeply, full of doubts: "Why did the wind suddenly start?"
The frequency of strong winds on Pudaxue Mountain wasn’t high; were they just unlucky enough to encounter this fierce wind?
Chen Yuan gently coughed: "The best plan now is to wait for Cola to find a place to take shelter."
He gazed into the snowy expanse ahead: "I hope it’s not too far."
If the shelter was too far away, traversing the blizzard to reach it would be a major challenge.
The tall, thin boy suddenly sighed: "If only we had a group of Pet Beasts to shield us from the snowstorm."
Though the Ink Tree Spirit was large enough, it couldn’t shield everyone on its own.
But what if they had a group of Pet Beasts of the same size?
Aside from the Ink Tree Spirit, none of the Pet Beasts present were large enough.
Although Spark could grow larger, it was different from Pet Beasts like the Ink Tree Spirit and the Fallen Meteor Horned Beast; it couldn’t effectively shelter everyone.
"But we’re on a snowy mountain, where can we find so many Pet Beasts?" One of the students sighed deeply, "It seems today’s climbers are doomed."
"Moo, moo, moo!"
Just as these words fell, a series of loud cries pierced through the blizzard, echoing in everyone’s ears.
Chen Yuan looked up to see a herd of Cold-Biting Oxen braving the storm, treading the snow, rushing toward them from afar.
