“Arf!” The moment Shan Bao appeared, Yu Bao yipped something at it.

Meanwhile, Tuoba Jing directed his two Pet Beasts to launch a new wave of attacks.

The two Pet Beasts immediately began a tightly coordinated assault.

Without those Skills, the Earthquake Beast’s entire combat strategy collapsed. Now, it was just an enormous monster, devoid of any “miraculous” power.

Its human-like thoughts and instincts had, in turn, become its weakness… Unlike other Earthquake Beasts, it could feel fear, and that fear made it panic!

“KRRRAAAA!”

After a moment of desperately fending off the attacks, the Earthquake Beast staggered back a few steps to create some distance. Though it clearly had no eyes, it rotated its head slightly, as if scanning the area.

‘Tuoba Jing’s two Pet Beasts alone are already a handful,’ the creature thought. ‘And Su Zhi’s pets are over there, recovering their strength. I know those three are the real heavy-hitters. If they join the fight again, I’m dead for sure.’

It seemed to have reached a decision. The Earthquake Beast paused for a moment, as if it had simply powered down.

A few seconds later, it let out a sudden, crazed howl and began charging south toward the village with heavy strides.

Tuoba Jing’s eyes widened. “Changning Village is that way! The beast is trying to take everyone down with it!”

“But it was just terrified of us a moment ago…” Su Zhi muttered, a sudden realization dawning on him.

In any case, the priority was to stop it!

If it reached another village, it could cause immense destruction with its sheer size, even without using its earthquake attack!

The Pet Beasts unleashed their strongest skills.

Zi Lu unleashed Azure Wing Burial, the Thunderbolt War Falcon’s Strongest Output Skill. Yet, the violent lightning and raging winds struck the Earthquake Beast like a gale passing over a mountain, having no effect whatsoever.

Xuan Huang caught up to the monster and, empowered by the Yanhuang Blessing, unleashed Rock-Breaking Teeth, Giant Fire Pillar, and every other Output Skill it had mastered. While the attacks certainly dealt impressive damage, against the beast’s colossal frame, it was just a drop in the bucket.

With no time to fully recover, Su Zhi’s three Pet Beasts quickly joined the effort to intercept the monster.

Shan Bao scrambled onto the Earthquake Beast’s head and tried to use Super Heavy Gold Fall, adding weight to slow it down. Meanwhile, Wu Bao looked for a point of leverage, trying to topple the beast as it had before.

However, neither of their efforts produced the desired effect.

“It’s not working! It’s completely useless!” Su Zhi’s heart leaped into his throat.

The Earthquake Beast was simply too massive; conventional tactics were useless. Forget Shan Bao’s and Wu Bao’s attacks—even if Yu Bao unleashed Star Meteor Burst, it would be nearly impossible to stop the creature’s charge.

This only confirmed Su Zhi’s suspicions.

This Earthquake Beast was merely a vessel, a container for some other entity. The intelligence they had just fought was the “agent” controlling it from behind the scenes, which was why it behaved so differently from a normal Earthquake Beast.

And apparently, its controller was a sore loser. After taking a beating, they had simply rage-quit, leaving the Earthquake Beast on autopilot.
