Beast Taming: I Can Add Points
Chapter 441: Anti-Earthquake Beast Equipment
Chapter 441: Chapter 286: Anti-Earthquake Beast Equipment
Wuzhen Village was located north of Jinshi Village and was the most remote of the area’s settlements from the town.
Compared to Jinshi Village, Wuzhen Village was also much smaller, with only a dozen or so households. Perhaps because it was so sparsely populated, Earthquake Beasts rarely came here. Even on the rare occasion they did attack, they would quickly depart.
The village’s name reflected the simple wish of its people: that their home would never be ravaged by the devastation of earthquakes.
For many years, this seemed to hold true.
Though suffering spared no one in this land, the people of Wuzhen Village were indeed more fortunate than those in other villages…
Until tonight, when everything changed. The villagers didn’t even have time to scream or moan before they were buried and devoured by the roaring tremors.
“P-please, I beg you…”
A scrawny young villager sat trembling on the ground, shuffling backward while muttering pleas for mercy that even he could not hear clearly.
Several times he tried to stand and flee, but his legs gave out from sheer terror, and he collapsed back to the ground.
Before him, amidst the collapsed houses, a Giant Beast that resembled a small mountain slowly approached, its towering body almost obscuring the clouds and the moonlight.
With every step it took, the ground trembled in response.
The ruins of homes and the fallen bodies vibrated in unison, or were crushed by a colossal, pillar-like foot, instantly pulverized. A spray of blood and rubble filled the air, along with a sickening metallic stench.
The young villager’s eyes were wide. His face, numb from extreme terror, was a blank, expressionless mask.
He had never seen such a massive Earthquake Beast, one bigger than all the houses in the village combined.
‘Could a Giant Beast like this even be defeated?’
‘Why did it have to come for us…’
“…Clara!”
The Earthquake Beast opened its abyss-like maw, and darkness swallowed the faint glimmer of light in the villager’s eyes.
“CRUNCH!”
The sickening sound of jaws being forced to a halt echoed.
The massive maw didn’t devour the villager. Instead, it was wedged open by a pair of giant, rock-covered claws. Seizing the opportunity, a figure in a simple, plain robe darted past and dragged the villager out of harm’s way.
“Fuyue!” Tuoba Jing set the villager down and turned back in alarm.
Fuyue had stopped the Earthquake Beast’s devouring maw with his own body, but in doing so, he now bore the full brunt of its terrifying bite force.
‘That sound just now… it was unmistakably the sound of breaking bones.’
“ROAR!”
Fuyue let out a soul-tearing roar. Blood poured from his eye sockets, nostrils, and ears. His arms and legs, wedged in the Earthquake Beast’s giant mouth, were bent at unnatural angles.
The Earthquake Beast was like a merciless devouring machine, its giant mouth still closing relentlessly.
It could have clearly crushed Fuyue to pieces in an instant, but it didn’t. Instead, it gradually increased the pressure, as if deliberately toying with its prey.
The space around Fuyue shrank bit by bit, the pressure on his body increasing exponentially. Under such immense force, he was pinned so completely he couldn’t even struggle free.
His roar of fury gradually became a pained cry, but Fuyue still struggled to hold on—he was a Beastmaster’s Pet Beast, and even if there was no chance of his own survival, he had to buy his master time to escape.
Tuoba Jing’s jaw quivered, his fists clenched so tightly he didn’t even notice his nails digging into his palms.
Even with his years of fighting in the Secret Realms, he had never faced such a colossal Earthquake Beast.
A heavy sense of powerlessness enveloped him.
His Pet Beast was in mortal danger. Tuoba Jing could feel Fuyue’s life force growing weaker and weaker, yet he could do nothing…
Until a burst of Golden Light flooded his vision.
“SWOOSH SWOOSH!”
A rain of feathers descended from the sky, hurtling toward the giant Earthquake Beast.
As they neared the Earthquake Beast, the feathers suddenly accelerated. Their flight was no longer graceful; they now carried an immense, heavy force.
“THWIP! THWIP! THWIP!”
Augmented by both Hardening and Super Heavy Gold Fall, Shan Bao’s Golden Feather Flying Blades instantly riddled the front of the Earthquake Beast.
“SKREEE!”
A Golden Light flashed as an insectoid battle cry, filled with fighting spirit, rang out. Transported by Flash Gold Teleportation, Wu Bao shot into the Earthquake Beast’s mouth, landing near Fuyue.
Doubling, activated!
“HRRRNNNG!”
Wu Bao’s body instantly swelled to the same size as Fuyue, also propping open the Earthquake Beast’s upper and lower jaws.
Fuyue could feel the pressure on his body lighten slightly, though compared to the Earthquake Beast’s full bite force, this was merely a drop in the bucket.
The next moment, Wu Bao’s carapace turned a glossy, jet-black—Perfect Block, activated!
This move was originally the Black Fighting Emperor’s famous Defense Skill. It could repel most attacks through ultra-high-speed vibrations of its carapace and also greatly reduce the power of any attacks that did connect, achieving a near-invincible state.
And now, with Wu Bao using this move while caught in the Earthquake Beast’s bite, it caused the beast’s mouth to start vibrating as well.
The brutal pressure was dissipated by the vibrations. Before Fuyue could even catch his breath, he felt his body go light. Zi Lu had seized the opportunity to fly past, grabbing him by the scruff of the neck and pulling him free.
“CRACK!” The Earthquake Beast snapped its jaws shut with renewed force.
With the help of Flash Gold Teleportation, Wu Bao also managed to escape, leaving the Earthquake Beast to bite down on empty air.
“My apologies, Senior. I’m late!” Su Zhi jogged to Tuoba Jing’s side.
“No, it is thanks to your timely support.”
Glancing at the successfully rescued, now unconscious Fuyue, Tuoba Jing looked at Su Zhi with gratitude. “Young friend Su Zhi, I will remember this favor!”
Su Zhi gave a slight smile. “When Jinshi Village was attacked a while ago, it was you, Senior, who lent a helping hand. Today, I only did the same. It hardly counts as a favor.”
With that, both of them turned their gazes to the Great Earthquake Beast before them.
