Beast Evolution System: Devourer of Heaven
Chapter 460: Escape
Chapter 460: Chapter 460: Escape
A few moments earlier.
Naledi flew as fast as her wings can take her, she boosted herself using the law of force increasing her speed multiple times.
On top of using her second phase plus her divine flames, she was as fast as a creation realm expert.
However she knew at this rate she wouldn’t be able to make it, the darkness monster was closing its mouth at a blinding speed.
Fortunately for her, its mouth was incredibly wide, Ved’s avatar holding the monster back was turned to ash.
She watched as the last two avatars lunged at the monster with mad abandon, three fire birds chased after them.
One avatar couldn’t even move a few kilometres and was caught in a blink of an eye turning to ash instantly.
Naledi started panicking, he was left with only a single avatar, if that one died so would he.
She doubted even his law of life and law of death can save him. However she wouldn’t be able to make at this rate.
Without Ved stopping it, the monster moved with her making it impossible to escape its bounds with just speed.
So she teleported, a powerful Will pressed her from all sides, she felt as if she was trapped beneath an ocean of endless depth.
This will tried to strip away her space law and essence energy, it was trying to undo her ability as it did before.
Her will was not as strong as this one, she grew desperate, time seemed to stand still and the fireball grew closer and closer to Ved.
His eyes were locked on her, ’ No, run, you have to run!’ she screamed in her head, she couldn’t bare to watch him die.
Especially if she knew he died to save her, she doubted she would have the will to live should that happen.
Naledi knew Ved, she knew the nature of his will and knew unless there was a chance of survival he would always escape.
Most experts on their level disdained the idea of running even in the face of death but not him.
Even Naledi felt running was shameful but she’s also been influenced by and knee survival should stand above pride.
Knowing all of this, she knew he should’ve ran, he should’ve known staying meant death yet he stayed.
For her, he defied a large part of what makes him him, she was touched, deeply touched and her already bottomless love for him grew deeper.
Something blossomed inside her, her law avatar stood above her like an untouchable empress.
However its usual cold eyes were gone and replaced by ones that held endless affection.
A will bloomed inside Naledi or rather her will of perfection and dominance evolved for she had realised.
Being at the peak alone would be a lonely thing, she wanted to grow with him, to reach the highest level of power with him.
This evolution didn’t make her will stronger but the process created a sudden surge of willpower that momentarily pushed back the overwhelming will of the darkness monster.
Her will was similar to that of Ved in one aspect, adaptability. His increases his chances of survival at all cost.
While hers, allow her to adapt to any situation so she can triumph over it and seek new heights.
She teleported, the monster’s will was momentarily pushed back allowing her to use her teleportation.
She appeared next to Ved, touched him and teleported away leaving Vermilion’s fire bird to attack empty air.
As soon as they reappeared, she took off dragging him along. A single avatar only had 1/4 of his strength.
For Ved, that was still powerful enough to kill almost anybody on his level except perhaps other divinities.
In fact, due to him being two levels above her and being the exact same monster she was.
1/4 of his strength was almost as strong as she was but he was exhausted, unlike they who use essence energy.
Ved was reliant on stamina and that brief exchange with Vermilion took a massive toll on his body.
She dragged him along increasing their speed to a whole new level but something she didn’t expect to happen happened.
Her teleportation happened on its own and they found themselves somewhere else, closer to the exit out of this place.
Where they had just been before, Vermilion appeared as if he had teleported there and in fact he had.
Strangely, a law of space twisted and danced around him like invisible ribbons instead of his familiar law of fire.
Vermilion looked interested, " Interesting, did she discover me even before I arrived? It seems the supreme law of space is as impressive as I thought it would, I want it more now."
He licked his lips, an illusion of a spherical gyroscope appeared above it and expanded envoloping him and he disappeared.
Naledi felt it this time, space shifted in front of her, somebody had targeted this place as coordinates.
’ Somebody is teleporting to us using the law of space but who? It can’t be Vermilion can it?’
She found that hard to believe, comprehending the law of space was was hard enough.
Comprehending it as a sub law was even harder and Vermilion’s main law was the blood fire law, a great law on its own.
Ved’s tree image stabbed a root on her back and connected with her soul, it tried to activate her teleporting ability again.
This time she felt it clearly, a hidden law she couldn’t comprehend, she couldn’t even tell its grade.
But this law acted as if it had a will of its own and tried to activate her ability without her permission.
She could’ve easily resisted this but she did not because she could feel its intentions were to protect Ved.
And it was using her to do so, ’ What kind of law is this? Is it even a law?’ she wondered, a thousand thoughts ran through her head in a split second.
Before teleporting away she pointed a finger in front of her, the tree image took them away immediately after.
Vermilion appeared as soon as they disappeared, he smiled then space shifted around him.
Before he could react a massive black hole appeared around him, a crushing force tried to crush him from all directions.
His blood fire bloomed like a red rose burning space and gravity alike incinerating the block hole itself.
He touched his forehead and he was bleeding, " It’s been a while since anybody made me bleed, that bitch will pay."
The playful confident smile he had before was gone, his face was now twisted with rage.
