Chapter 1453: Allocation of Power
Chapter 1453: Chapter 1416: Allocation of Power
“Where’s Lann?”
Erin glanced behind Henrik but didn’t see the Demon Hunter who summoned them.
Henrik’s earth-yellow triangular hat swayed from side to side.
“It seems we’re still not fast enough. He let that magical little cat and a very formidable-looking horse out as well. Now, he should still be down there clearing away the remnants…”
The Old Hunter’s toe nudged an ornament of a squirrel tail glued to the ground in a pool of blood, pausing momentarily.
“Squirrel Faction.” Erin reminded him, “The name sounds sort of adorable, doesn’t it?”
Two Yan’an Hunters, one with a mask, the other with a bird-beak helmet, spoke in muffled voices.
Their tone carried the distinctive dream-like whispers unique to Yan’an.
These mixed qualities almost made this corpse-laden, blood-soaked Asura Battlefield seem bizarrely deep and mysterious beyond its brutality.
“But this place really has some tricks up its sleeve.”
Henrik lifted his head, the mood of the somber Yan’an Old Hunter focusing on a tower nearly melted away by flames.
“Killing is fine, but I wouldn’t want to enter such a place.”
The Yan’an Old Hunter excels at individual hunts, but that’s only for specific prey.
They can hunt powerful creatures or monsters, but are less suited to confronting this kind of… widespread force affecting the environment.
If corporeal exposure were possible, it’d be manageable, but now the tower’s on the verge of collapsing like a melting candle!
They haven’t even seen the one who caused this scene.
“Just as he said himself.” Erin shook the Compassion Blade, “We just need to work with that magical little cat, clear the Squirrel Faction under the bridge, and block this bridgehead.”
“The rest, he’s taking care of it. Look, he’s already gone over.”
Henrik followed Erin’s gaze, extending his head beyond the stone bridge to look down.
Built within the rock mountain body of Airetusa, a lavish stained-glass window suddenly exploded from the inside!
Four or five Squirrel Faction members were jammed together by something and pushed out through a window directly connected to the cliff!
The colorful glass shards emitted dazzling lights.
And following that, amid the increasingly distant screams of the Squirrel Faction’s fall, a huge bone-white figure suddenly shot out!
A slender hook chain directly grabbed the opposite mountain rock, swinging him entirely across!
“Hmm…” Henrik held his hat in the sea breeze, pulling his head back, “I still can’t understand why he is so agile?”
—————–
After using the Summoning Bell given to him by the Old Hunters to call upon his two Yan’an friends, Lann wasted no time rushing back into Airetusa’s main building!
The Qilin was also signaled by the Magic Ring to come up. The New Continent Ancient Dragon initially wanted to show Lann its decisive and wise judgment, intending to simply use Thunder Summon to sink the ship charging directly from the open sea.
Yet who could have expected the ship to later elevate with a magic shield?
The Qilin, feeling numb, was now in a foul mood.
From the exterior rock wall of Airetusa, it climbed its way up by collapsing the rocks!
After listening to Lann’s intentions, it grabbed the back neck of the small cat’s armor, amidst a ‘meow?’ from Rong Buqiu, and directly took the cat away.
It was now preparing to vent its frustration on the Squirrel Faction within the ship.
To place the Squirrel Faction on Sandy Island at this time was truly a stroke of strategic brilliance.
During this period, the Gastang Palace’s anti-magic array had already been activated, leaving the Warlocks’ combat capabilities from Luoxia Palace upwards inferior even to ordinary soldiers.
As they attended a banquet, they wouldn’t wear armor or bring weapons.
Normally, during a meeting at Gastang Palace, the entire Sandy Island was under military protection.
Warlocks would convene within the anti-magic array, while the King’s army guarded outside against invasions.
This symbolized a compromise between the Warlocks’ independence and the monarchy.
However, tonight, the monarchy is undergoing an unprecedented trust crisis at Airetusa due to Philippa and Dikoschek’s actions.
The Warlocks would absolutely not allow any loyal soldiers of the King to remain on Sandy Island.
This led to a complete vacuum in security forces!
Allowing the Squirrel Faction a chance to land on the island would result in total massacre!
From a strategic planning perspective, Lann acknowledged it was a great plan.
The plan’s creator must have fully understood the operational styles and processes of the two major managerial organizations within the Warlock community.
He was certainly aware that Gastang Palace’s anti-magic array would be activated now and that the Warlocks would expel soldiers from the island.
It’s clear that he devised the plan under absolute intelligence superiority, having thoroughly grasped the styles and internal conflicts of both the Talent and Skill Association and the Warlock Supreme Council.
But only one thing—
The planner still seems to perceive Lann as though he’s a warrior from two years ago.
Though powerful, he thought of him as a Demon Hunter unable to balance multiple tasks, one still unfamiliar with using teleportation portals.
He assumed that Lann should worry about his Knight Order within the castle, focusing on Gos Velen City’s Workshop District. This alone should have overwhelmed a Demon Hunter.
He thought that even if Lann was alone, it wouldn’t matter much inside Sandy Island. The Squirrel Faction would disperse into the complex structures, killing anyone they saw.
The Squirrel Faction’s efficiency in killing Warlocks is always higher than Demon Hunters’ efficiency in finding the Squirrel Faction, right?
The more Northern Warlocks they eliminate, the more profit Niflgaard gains! And it’s a big profit!
But he had no idea… what this Demon Hunter experienced over the past two years, how much he has grown.
Lann indeed hoped to use this meeting to apply pressure on the Northern Kings through the influence of the Warlock community to achieve his political goals.
Yet, he never relaxed his vigilance.
The connections and power he accumulated during his cross-world travels, it was time to respond to him!
Allocate strength according to the level of urgency.
In the Workshop District at the foot of Gos Velen City’s walls, just sending Gascogne would be enough to disrupt the enemy’s strength deployment.
As for those who raided Airetusa, aiming for indiscriminate slaughter, two old Yan Nan Hunters, plus Rong Buqiu and Qilin, are more than enough.
When had the lightning of the New Continent Ancient Dragon ever cared about anti-magic arrays or Demon-Blocking Gold?
Facing the greatest threat of High Hill Castle, Lann directly sent his connections from the Flame World over.
Attacking separately, isn’t it just comparing the dispersed strength one by one?
Do you think the strength you separate is greater than mine?
But you don’t know my cards are accumulating in my hand more and more!
Thus, even when the raid had reached its climax, Lann was still not panicked.
He originally didn’t intend to achieve his goals through such a violent process but placed his hopes on the Wizard Summit.
But since the other party started getting violent first, he only waited for the other side to hit their head and bleed!
The young Demon Hunter arrived at the entrance to the Crystal Cultivation Laboratory, indeed at the door of this currently most famous project of the Warlock Realm, three or four Squirrel Faction Elves were attempting to violently break through.
Seeing an unusually towering and strong figure walking down the dim corridor, they didn’t know whether to be excited or nervous as they swallowed.
But in the end, they heroically and resolutely drew their blades, shouting as they charged at Lann.
“For Ailireen!”
“Remember Bai Mei…”
Lann guessed the Elves wanted to shout ‘Remember the White Rose of Ailireen.’ Sadly, they didn’t have the chance to complete the sentence.
“Bang!”
The sound of Smaug’s menacing hand armor gripping the incoming head already rang deep and crisply like a hammer smashing a head!
With the absolute difference in size and strength, there was no room for technique.
Lann’s large hand grasped the Elf’s face frontally, not caring at all about the slicing blades.
Steely blades hit the bone-white armor, the sharp but futile sound didn’t even cause Lann’s body to tremble.
Wearing this armor, Lann dared to let his arm lock onto the Ludwig’s Sword thrust by the Church’s First Knight of Yan’an.
Let alone the ordinary blades of the Squirrel Faction.
Holding them like a rag doll, he pressed down with his palm, and the hand holding the opponent’s head heard a ‘crack’ sound as the cervical vertebrae were bent backward.
Then he horizontally tossed the not-yet-dead Squirrel Faction body!
The Elves charging were thrown out like pins hit by a bowling ball.
From their bodies came the sound of dull fractures, their faces with traditional Elf tattoos contorted from the sudden and unimaginable force into grimacing expressions.
“What’s with the extremism masquerading as nobility?”
Like gourds rolling, the Squirrel Faction that was so quickly swept clean was already piled at the end of the corridor.
And Lann coldly remarked, his heavily explosive body began to accelerate slowly, entering a sprinting state in a second!
The heavy footsteps were practically like a humanoid war machine!
“Ailireen regretted herself, and yet you idiots still don’t get it?!”
“Bang!!!”
This dull explosion sound was like siege ammunition striking the Airetusa castle!
It almost made people think Airetusa was being besieged!
The ‘Kara La’ reef cracking sound echoed continuously.
In his sprinting state, Lann stomped his foot among the piled Squirrel Faction crowd!
Savage power, savage power using methods!
Instantly, Lann’s boots seemed like a juicer, spraying blood and crushed flesh!
And even using a human pile for cushioning, the castle wall devoid of magic couldn’t withstand Lann’s charging stomp!
The stone wall at the corridor’s end was directly shattered! Along with the colored glass window carved into the wall being squeezed and shattered due to the wall’s deformation, blasting out!
The sea wind rushed in for a moment, but Lann’s silver hair fluttered as he knocked a pile of Squirrel Faction completely out of Airetusa Castle, continuing his charge unhalted.
The projector hook on his left arm snapped onto the far side of the gorge after he crossed the open air, grabbing the rock on the opposite side with a click, taking him to the heights where Gastang Palace is located.
