Chapter 367: Innocence (Part 1)

Saleen pointed to the teleportation portal and Nailisi immediately understood him as she left the ship from the portal.

Upon seeing this scene, Jola was shell-shocked. This was over eight-hundred meters deep, even a swordmaster would have a problem moving in such depth. Nailisi had a demure look to her, but she could leave the ship directly like this?

Jola could only comfort himself. Perhaps Nailisi had special training just like the women in Cloudflow Empire that made a living through collecting pearls. She must be good in water

“Hu!”

Nailisi took in a large breath as she returned to the ship from the teleportation portal. She took less than a minute. Outside the ship, she saw the twenty-four bone spirits painstakingly dragging a four-meter-long fish. Nailisi put the fish directly in her bracelet, not wasting too much time.

“Heh, Master, the prey isn’t small. We can eat it for days!” Nailisi shook her wrist.

“Yes, bring it to the kitchen with Jola.” Saleen continued explaining magic to the mages. He realized that as he was explaining, he had a deeper understanding of the knowledge that Raphael had left behind. Through explaining to the low-grade mages, he had gained more than them.

“Follow me.” Nailisi hooked Jola’s finger as he grudgingly apologized to Irene. Irene turned around as she followed Nailisi to the kitchen.

When designing this alchemical boat, it was made to bring more than one-hundred swordsmen with it in case of a surprise attack. The kitchen on the ship was not small and could provide food for around two-hundred people. Inside the gap of the turtle shell, there was a magic array that could create freshwater. So long as one had enough magic nuclei, it was possible to survive underwater in the ship for months.

Nailisi came to the kitchen and slammed the four-meter-long fish onto the floor.

“Ah, red arrow kiss!” Irene exclaimed in shock.

“What is a red arrow kiss?” Nailisi was not very familiar with the magic beasts in the sea. The mouth of the fish was indeed slender like an arrow, it was incredibly sharp too. A single hit would be able to pierce through a normal ship floor.

“Nothing, it’s delicious.” Irene’s voice was filled with uncertainty. Even though Jola was good with food, he had not heard of such a rare fish.

Irene thought in her heart; “If Saleen eats this, would I be able to entice him?”

Even though a red arrow kiss was not a strong magic beast, it was usually around grade-3. What was rare was that its meat was incredibly tender and its color was as bright as flowers. Making fish slices out of it was indeed a delicacy. The most delicious part was its brain, even though it was not vibrant in color. It also had the ability to attract people.

“Let me help, I am good with fish.” Irene hid this fact as she started thinking of how to create a dish that was irresistible to Saleen.

Jola and Nailisi did not read too much into it as Nailisi did not care about any poison or aphrodisiac. In her survival experiences, there was not anything known as getting poisoned. Jola was still in shock, Nailisi was obviously using spatial equipment. In his knowledge, only a grand mage, one that was about grade-5 could use a space equipment.

“Was Nailisi a grand mage? Saleen made a grade-5 mage his maidservant?”

Jola was getting dizzy, at the side, Nailisi was helping to take away the scales of the red arrow kiss. She did not even use a knife as she picked at the scales with her fingernails, putting them one by one into her bracelet. Jola was even more convinced that he was right.

This was an adult red arrow kiss, the materials on its body could be used to create armor. If metals were not added to it, it was a simple magic armor and could be easily sold for thousands of gold coins. A hint of gold appeared within Nailisi’s green eyes, she had already seen clearly the structure of the fish. She did not want to scare Jola though as she took out the dagger by her waist and started dissecting the fish.

The dagger created from the dragon bone was sharp enough for the red arrow kiss. Irene started guiding Nailisi at the side on how to take out the meat without destroying its taste.

The three of them worked in the kitchen for more than an hour while Saleen was temporarily done with his lesson. If he said too much, the five low-grade mages would not be able to digest anything.

Nailisi took the fish meat and placed it into some airtight containers. She let Irene cut the fish head and placed it on the chopping board. After washing her hands, Irene took out a saw and slowly cut opened the fish head, taking out the brains.

Its head was enormous but its brain was tiny, evidently it was not very smart.

Inside Saleen’s cabin, the five low-grade mages were repeatedly asking Saleen for guidance. They were trying to internalize whatever they had just learnt and understand it completely. Saleen had explained to them on the mutual control between the different low-grade magic, but had included the Figaro Formula within it. The five low-grade mages had all dabbled in the Figaro Formula before but they could not calculate the weakness of an enemy in battle like Saleen could.

The solution Raphael had provided was to calculate beforehand. Once one was familiar with an enemy’s magic, one could predict and make use of the mutual control of magic to obtain the optimal combat effect.

Such a method required repeated calculation during normal times to understand the weakness of every low-grade magic. This would not affect the training of a mage and hence, was considered a useful skill.

“Why are they gone for so long?” Sika asked impatiently at the side.

“That is a magic beast, Nailisi will take out every useful part.” Saleen replied while laughing. He understood Nailisi perfectly, this imp was incredibly stingy when it came to materials. Saleen had heard from Nailisi that in the demon dimension, a low-grade demon would hide any food it had and store it in different places. This was a method of survival.

Only a supreme demon had the privilege of wasting, Nailisi was an imp and Saleen felt safe letting her run the show.

The magic beasts in the sea were much more valuable than those on land. This was because they were much bigger and besides magic nuclei, the ingredients that could be taken from them were several times more useful.

Just as they were talking, Irene brought a porcelain bowl over and said to Saleen, “Saleen, I made this for you. Try it, this is…”

Saleen rubbed his stomach and said, “I am so full already.”

Sika reached out with her hand and grabbed the bowl, she poured the contents directly into her mouth. Irene pointed at her, surprised and angered at the same time. She was too quick and Irene did not have any time to react.

Saleen furrowed his brows and asked, “Sika, are you not full yet?”

Even though he had no intentions of accepting Irene’s kind offering, Sika was too aggressive.

“Hmmm, it does taste good, is there any more?” Sika licked her lips. The fish brain was slimy and fresh with a little amount of life force in it. It was very nutritious for a priestess.

“Hm!” Irene left angrily. Going up the stairs, she returned to her room. She was angry that the fish brain stew that she had made was snatched away by the Cascausus warrior. Saleen did not even eat it. Such opportunities would be hard to come by in the future.

Jola brought over a plate of fish slices. Using a bamboo pick, he ate as he watched the commotion.

“What happened to her?” Sika asked curiously. Was it not just a bowl of food? This was not the Cascausus region and food was plentiful, why was she angry?

“That was meant for master.” Nailisi said after seeing Sika’s action, “This fellow is much faster than before, it seems like I’m no longer her match.”

“Ah!” Sika looked at the empty bowl in her hands. She had eaten until nothing was left and had licked the whole bowl cleanly, not leaving even a drop of the stew.

“It’s nothing, everyone go rest.” Saleen waved his hands, asking everyone to go back to their rooms to rest. The winged skeleton was controlling the alchemical boat now and was moving at between thirty-five to forty-five miles an hour. Once the mages had rested, they could power it with the magic nuclei again and advance forward. Seeing Sika embarrassed, Saleen did not want the rest to make fun of her.

“Sika, follow me.” Saleen remembered the present he had prepared for her as he called out.

“Yes.” Sika followed behind Saleen and Nailisi up the stairs.

Jola was still leaning against the door, he was thinking back to Sika snatching the porcelain bowl. Even though Irene was only a high-grade swordsman, her reaction was not slow. Her weakness was that her sword aura was not very powerful. With Sika snatching like that, Irene’s hand did not even tremble. She was defenceless.

If Sika had a long sword with her and had struck him then, he would be in a fix.

Jola picked up a slice of fish and threw it into his mouth, thinking to himself angrily, “Who were these people around Saleen?”

Sika followed Saleen and Nailisi into the room as Saleen said, “Sika, I have something for you, see…”

Saleen said as he retrieved the green spirit from his ring. It was his best piece of green spirit from the skeleton of the magic beast found in Raphael’s tower imprinted into it.

It was almost as if Sika had not heard Saleen, she licked her lips and sniffed the air. She felt as if her body was heating up. The life force was quickly sucked into her body, different from when it was usually sucked in slowly. It quickly integrated with her body.

“This thing was meant to be harmless, what was happening? Could it be a holy medicine?”

The Cascausus birth rate was not very high and there were people in the village that specialized in creating such holy medicine to help a Cascausus woman to conceive. These holy medicines contained life force too and because of that a Cascausus woman was usually very valiant and strong. Sika knew what was happening even before she had become an adult. She was not unfamiliar with such stuff, but this was her first time taking it and the feeling was incredible.

“Saleen, you have grown taller.” Sika reached out to touch Saleen on his head.

“Sika, what are you doing?” Nailisi realized something was amiss too as she sniffed the air carefully. There was a devilish heat spreading from Sika’s body.

“Nailisi, go out.” Sika herself was not nervous. She did not even use her priestess powers to get rid of the medicine effects, instead she started laughing. “Irene isn’t so bad after all, she knows how to help.”

“What did you say?” Nailisi was angered. Sika’s reply was her cudgel instead.

The giant cudgel swept towards Nailisi and she could not dodge it, she extended her hand to block. With a giant bang, the entire alchemical boat vibrated along. Nailisi could not stand her ground any longer as she was flung aside by Sika’s cudgel.

Sika laughed and walked to the door, making a face to Nailisi who was outside. She closed the door and used the rod to block the door.

“No one will disturb now!”
