Chapter 1377

Chapter 1377: Extremely Strong Mage (Part 2)

Was the might of a secret technique really this powerful?

When Saleen first heard that Jason, his teacher, had advanced to grade-13, his heart shook more intensely than the first time he stepped inside a temple.

Jason was the hero of Saleen’s heart. This respectful relationship, established when Saleen was young, had deepened with each passing year. Undoubtedly, Jason had his own background, but his inheritance was not considered particularly strong.

Saleen did not know who Jason’s teacher was. He only knew that when he was close to death, he was just a grade-9 mage. He also knew that during the recent millennium, he had not produced any strong mages.

During Jason’s generation, this changed.

Jason had studied a secret skill, or technique, on his own without any guidance from others. He was only able to do a little bit of research based on notes. Saleen too had also studied a secret skill and knew firsthand how demanding this undertaking was. The world and the skills described in the secret technique were esoteric, unlike any cultures Saleen knew.

For thousands of years, the Grukos family had conducted research to systematically gain control of, and own, all kinds of secret techniques. Jason had researched alone for a few decades, but his achievements were impressive. To say that he was the strongest mage in the world was no exaggeration.

As soon as Jason advanced to grade-13, the sound became louder and louder. When the elemental storm formed inside the magical tower, Jason confined it to a safe area. Then his eight magic chords popped out, slowly absorbing the energy within the elemental storm.

Saleen saw that Jason was using the power of the elemental storm to infuse his magic chords. This was unheard of. In magical notes, Saleen had seen many descriptions of what it was like to advance to grade-13, but there was nothing like what Jason was experiencing.

Amid the Rings of Water and Fire, a boom crashed incessantly, like Thundering Sound. With his own eyes, Saleen witnessed the rapid growth of the Weapon’s Spirits within the two sets of magic amplifiers. Except for what was used to infuse his magic chords, Jason sent the rest of the power to the magic amplifiers for the two Weapon’s Spirits to consume.

Naturally, they grew larger. One was a fire-type elemental spirit; the other, a water-type elemental spirit. What an accomplishment! Even in ancient times, few mages possessed such a mighty Weapon’s Spirit.

The two Weapon’s Spirits experienced the might of Jason’s magic amplifier, which was more than four times that of Saleen’s magic amplifier. A grade-9 mage who had a magic amplifier from the beginning would be able to oppose a few magical towers. Once Jason had this item, directly attacking a magical tower would be no big deal.

As the power of the Rings of Water and Fire increased, the magic amplifier in the Blazing Flame Soul-refining Technique and the Water Flame Alchemy technique began to transform.

A strange sphere formed out of 24 eyes. When these eyes were shut, the sphere disappeared into the thin air. When the eyes were open, the sphere re-appeared a flash.

In the center of the sphere were three eyes arranged in a triangle. The Weapon’s Spirit had already gone into one of the eyes, while Dante went into another. The third eye was empty. Saleen had already decided to let Floating City’s Weapon’s Spirit enter it.

The capabilities of these three Weapon’s Spirits were similar; Jason’s magic amplifier was also grade-13. From now on, Floating City, the Lightning Constellation and Jason’s magic amplifier would be combined into one entity, the crown jewel of the mage’s equipment.

Three powerful Weapon’s Spirits were integrated in this equipment. They possessed elemental magic spells together with the rules of lightning magic spells. Also, within the 24 eyes, 24 more Weapon’s Spirits could be contained, and the power could be absorbed together.

From the type of stellarite, it could be deduced that the 27 spaces comprised all the supreme rules of this Crystal Wall system.

For the sake of modeling this piece of equipment, Jason had no choice but to advance to grade-13 in order to execute it with all his power. But even if Saleen had the Genesis Stock Solution, 12-dimensional metal and Six Elements’ Heavy Water, he would still have been able to complete alchemy of high difficulty.

The 27 eyes blinked at Saleen’s back. Strangely, once the eyes opened, the magic amplifier appeared in a fish. When the eyes closed, it disappeared without a trace.

Saleen’s equipment was not yet fused with Floating City, though. This was because he did not have the power to do this. After attaining grade-13, he would be able to do it with difficulty. For now, however, the magic amplifier had already transformed completely. The magic spells Saleen used could now be applied without having to use the magic amplifier directly, and they would naturally be strengthened.

The 24 eyes corresponded to the six great elements differently. Furthermore, this was for the four types of states of the six great elements. The three eyes in the center were the strongest. Two of them already had Weapon’s Spirits. One continued to control the magic amplifier, while the other was Dante, who was in the Lightning Constellation.

The two Weapon’s Spirits were united. Eight balls of lightning appeared individually at the two eyes in the center of the magic amplifier. Of the 16 balls of lightning, eight were black and eight were white. Floating around in each eye, they resembled bizarre-looking pupils.

Yet Saleen knew that this time the might of the balls of lightning had increased dozens of times. They would more or less possess a tenth of the power of the balls of lightning that existed in nature. Such power was beyond compare.

Though Saleen couldn’t advance the way Jason did, he had powerful equipment and even the Power of the Soul; only a grade-13 professional had these things. Jason must have already obtained the Power of the Soul. Both parties were equally adept at operating the equipment.

Unfortunately, Jason did not really like having so much equipment. Saleen thought this was unfortunate. Jason only possessed the Rings of Water and Fire. Compared to what Saleen had, this seemed shabby.

Jason’s study of magic, however, had developed to a more profound level. Likewise, his speed of advancement also surpassed Saleen’s. This might be the advantage of focusing on magic. If Jason had equipment as powerful as his, Saleen felt his teacher could fight with Fycro directly.

As if reading Saleen’s thoughts, and without missing a beat, Jason smiled slightly and said, “Saleen, the current me can kill Fycro. His accumulation might not be as firm and deep as mine. If we’re talking about equipment, my Rings of Water and Fire aren’t inferior to his godly items. It’s just that…”

“Just that what?” Once Saleen heard Jason guarantee that he would be able to defeat Fycro, he rejoiced! Jason would not talk in circles or exaggerate his strength.

“What Fycro has cultivated is Divine Spell Incarnation. If one of them is killed, the other one will help revive the incarnation unless we kill the two of them. It’ll be a real nuisance if we don’t.

“I’ll take Rafel to deal with one. You take care of the other one.” Saleen immediately made up his mind.

“Alright, we both have magic amplifiers. We don’t need to rely on magical towers. Now, Fycro’s army has already broken through a large part of the forest…”

“What!”

From the side of the room, Rafel said, “My lord, Fycro’s side has increased its speed. To refine equipment, both of you have taken a total of six days and four hours.”

Rafel rushed to give an answer because she knew that Saleen wanted to ask her about the time. Unknowingly, a rapport developed between them. Saleen knew that such rapport was not really helpful in battle, but it was because of this rapport that Rafel and he became familiar with one another and had few misunderstandings.

The interactions between people required a reason, and also required fate. Between Saleen and Rafel, it was originally a trade, but after Saleen’s exchanges over these small matters, they had become harmonious.

Rafel felt that Saleen had some childish ways. To his credit, he was easy to get along with and not at all high and mighty as some gods were. She had no patience for that! She was most comfortable with a temperament like Saleen’s. She already considered herself a part of Metatrin.

The world was vast, but there was really nowhere else she could go.

Although she had a strong grade-13 body, without the gods Rafel had found it hard to adapt to the state of having a continuous consumption of energy. Yet she found it exceptionally difficult to replenish it. Saleen was even able to provide her with godly power, although it was not suitable for her.

Rafel shook the spear in her hands. Saleen still had not continued to refine this piece of equipment, but what she had was sufficient. Within the spear was stored a large amount of godly power. This was enough for her to use lavishly for a while.

Saleen’s Nature City still had crowds of disciples. He had blatantly stolen godly power and no one stopped him. After all, the Nature Faith’s Pope, oracles and temple knights had been established by Saleen’s hand. These people were almost like his followers. No, not followers exactly….just weirdos who had pledged allegiance to him.

“Saleen, of Fycro’s two godly items, you deal with that crescent moon-shaped weapon. I will deal with Fycro’s mirror. That crescent moon-shaped weapon is super powerful. For the past few days, the mages have been analyzing it constantly. No equipment below grade-12 will be able to withstand it at all; it’ll be cut into two.”

Saleen nodded, indicating he understood. In other words, his Water Shield would not be able to block the attacks of this godly item. Even if he had the Figure of Fate, he would probably be wounded. When facing Fycro, getting wounded was equivalent to death.

Even if he had a skill like the Crystal Finger, Fycro would definitely dare to trade a life for a life with him. Fycro had the clone and wouldn’t be afraid of his fatal attacks.

The important thing was that his clan badge was ineffective against that mirror, but was able to deal with that crescent moon-shaped weapon.

What Saleen feared was the mirror’s reflection. The mages had already analyzed the crescent moon-shaped weapon. Its power was focused on attacking; its sharpness was without equal. Maybe Saleen’s gold-colored dagger was up to the task. On the other hand, his operation of weaponry was not as seasoned as Fycro’s. Therefore it wasn’t practical to have a head-on clash with him.

The best method for targeting Fycro’s clone was his strong Power of the Soul followed by the clan badge to blast him to death

“Fycro and his clone won’t be in the same place. Saleen, take Rafel and go. Don’t do anything till you hear from me. If I don’t act, don’t you act either. We have to attack at the same time, then we’ll be able to hit our target.” Jason did everything in his power to keep Saleen focused and on task. He worried Saleen would be rash and ruin the plan.

It was likely that Fycro’s two bodies could swiftly travel back and forth between each other. Once one encountered an enemy, the other would have to come to his aid, creating a situation of two against one.

“Understood.” Saleen was getting excited. The surface of his body gave off a mist, wrapping Rafel within it. Together, they flew out of the magical tower.

“My lord, are you so certain?” Rafel sounded doubtful. Why did he have to put himself in danger?

“No, but we have to kill him. I’m totally committed to that.” Saleen replied. A mage with his origins could not be afraid of setbacks. Advancing bravely would purify his mental state and make his advancement easier. If he hesitated or withdrew in fear, the path of magic would become exceedingly difficult.
