Awakening: Reincarnating With the SSS-Level Extraction Talent

Chapter 486 - 486: The Tracking Function, Chasing to the Main Domain

Veyrion and Nocturne had cleared one of the mysterious structures scattered throughout the [Creators’ Domain], a feat that granted them access to a new function embedded within this realm.

As the dust settled and the final ripple of energy faded from the ground, they turned to the glowing system panel that shimmered before them.

The name of the ability they unlocked appeared at the top, its presence subtle but powerful in implication.

[Tracking Function: Unlocked]

[Effect: Allows you to see a list of all the regions in this realm and track if anybody is in one of them. You will not know who it is, but it will tell you if someone is present.]

With a nod, Nocturne flicked his hand and opened the panel once more as he had used it before.

Lines of text appeared immediately, organized and clean.

[Tracking Function:]Plains: 0Scorched Lands: 0Shattered Peaks: 2Crystal Depths: 0Whispering Marsh: 4Skyreach Expanse: 0…and so on.

Their eyes both locked onto the number beside the [Whispering Marsh].

Four. The rest of the list barely mattered after that.

Nocturne frowned slightly, tilting his head.

“We count as two, and we already killed the [God of Nightmares] and his Chosen One. The number should’ve dropped back to two.”

Veyrion narrowed his glowing eyes.

“Then it means someone else is there, two people, most likely.”

A moment passed between them, the tension subtle but rising.

“It’s Kaelios and FateBreaker,” Nocturne muttered, almost certain, “I’d bet anything that the one who killed the [Primordial Goddess] was the [God of Death].”

Veyrion remained silent, his fingers brushing his chin as his thoughts raced.

“Be careful. Even if it’s them, they could be anywhere at this point.”

“On it,” Nocturne said quickly, kneeling and pressing both palms to the dark soil beneath them.

In seconds, a massive structure erupted around them, thick, towering walls of shadowy aura forming a vast, circular fortress.

Its surface pulsed with protective runes.

“This will give us defense and early detection. If anyone gets close, I’ll know.”

Veyrion gave a short nod of approval.

“Good. And according to this, the [God of Death] is in the Shattered Peaks. That’s the opposite direction from us.”

That piece of information eased his thoughts, if only slightly.

For now, at least, the biggest threats to them, Nocteron and Lich, were still far.

Which meant the real battle of the [Main Round] was about to begin.

Elsewhere, within the mists near the Whispering Marsh, two figures advanced quietly, Alex and Kaelios.

Though their pace was steady, both of their instincts screamed in unison the moment they crossed a certain threshold.

They stopped almost at the same time, their eyes narrowing as a wave of oppressive energy brushed against their skin like a cold wind.

“They know,” Alex murmured, straightening his posture and abandoning any attempt at stealth, “No point hiding anymore. We lost the element of surprise.”

Kaelios nodded, his voice calm.

“They must’ve unlocked a detection function, something that told them people were nearby.”

Alex didn’t respond right away.

His gaze lingered on the foggy path ahead.

Even without seeing them, he could feel their presence.

The [God of Darkness] was close.

The one who had killed him in his previous life.

The reason his soul had once been lost in the void.

That unfinished battle… it was finally about to end.

And this time, there would be no resets or revivals.

This time, only one side would survive.

As they walked further, the fog gradually gave way to a massive wall of dense black aura.

It pulsed ominously, stretching outward in all directions.

A fortress of darkness.

“Huh,” Alex muttered, lifting his hand to reach for it, but Kaelios immediately raised an arm to stop him.

“It’s a defensive skill,” the God of Destiny warned, “Some kind of barrier. They knew we were coming, but not from which direction.”

Alex paused.

He was about to walk directly into a trap without realizing it.

Still… it didn’t change anything.

He would break through.

No matter what stood in his path, he would bring Veyrion and Nocturne down.

That was not up for negotiation.

“Let me,” he said, stepping forward.

Kaelios raised a brow.

“Are you sure? What are you—”

His question trailed off as he saw Alex extend his arm.

A faint purple glow shimmered around him as one of the skeletal [Void Blasters] emerged.

One of the massive cannons shifted slightly, its bone-plated face turning to allow the other to aim directly at the fortress of dark aura.

Alex’s gaze sharpened.

“Fire.”

The order echoed through the clearing, and the [Void Blaster] reacted instantly.

Its maw opened wide, revealing the swirling core of chaotic energy deep within.

A soundless hum filled the air for a second before erupting into a deafening BOOM as the cannon fired.

A colossal beam of concentrated purple energy tore across the land, so loud and so bright that it lit up half the sky.

The shockwave alone rippled through the [Creators’ Domain] like an earthquake.

Even Kaelios had to take a step back.

His eyes narrowed.

‘And this is still just the second phase… the third one is beyond dangerous,’ he thought, watching as the beam slammed into the dark fortress.

The walls shattered.

In one overwhelming instant, the fortress collapsed.

The black aura disintegrated under the pressure, melting into harmless mist.

From inside, Nocturne staggered slightly, stunned.

“…Holy shit,” he muttered, “That’s not just a cannon.”

“Move,” Veyrion barked, grabbing him with a shadow-imbued hand.

The two vanished in a blink as Veyrion used [Shadow Dash], pulling Nocturne along.

“Wait—why are we running?” Nocturne asked as they zipped through the trees, the burning sound of the purple beam still roaring behind them.

“Aren’t we fighting?”

“Not against that,” Veyrion growled, motioning behind them.

Nocturne twisted midair to look back, and saw the [Void Blaster] still unleashing its full fury.

The raw power of it made even them, two of the most powerful beings in the realm, hesitate.

To be hit by it would mean annihilation. There was no doubt about that.

“They’re running,” Kaelios noted as he watched the two flee.

“Then we chase,” Alex said without hesitation.

He extended all six wings and launched forward like a meteor, the wind tearing past him.

Kaelios followed close behind, both of them soaring through the realm with incredible speed.

Veyrion, aided by his [Shadow Dash], maintained a narrow lead, his form leaving behind streaks of dark energy as he dashed through the landscape.

Behind them, the [Void Blaster] finally stopped.

Its core dimmed, energy depleted for now.

“Good job,” Alex whispered as the skeletal construct retreated back into the ground.

Without wasting time, he summoned the third [Void Blaster], the only one he hadn’t used yet, and gave the order for it to begin charging toward the [Second Phase].

One of the others still had a charged shot ready, but judging by the trembling of its frame, it wouldn’t hold that energy for much longer.

Best to prepare another.

The chase continued for several minutes, taking them across a massive stretch of the [Creators’ Domain].

“Why the hell are they still running,” Kaelios muttered, slightly annoyed.

“They’re trying to test whether we’ve got anything else that dangerous,” Alex reasoned, “Trying to see if that blast was our only trump card.”

He paused, narrowing his eyes.

“But what’s bothering me more is that the [Angel of Destiny] still isn’t here. You used [World Cleaver] nearly five minutes ago.”

“It’s this realm,” Kaelios replied calmly, “This place blocks pathways. It’ll take time.”

Alex frowned but accepted the explanation. It fit.

After all, he had experienced it beforehand in the [Hatred Domain].

Still, he didn’t slow down.

Not long after, a familiar chime echoed through their minds.

Ding!

[You have entered the “Main Domain” region.]

The terrain shifted. The air grew still. The sky above them shimmered faintly with white and violet light.

They had reached the very center of the realm, the convergence point of all nine regions.

And waiting for them there…

Veyrion and Nocturne.

The two had finally stopped running, standing near the edge of a ridge where dark stone met glowing mist.

Both turned around slowly, facing their pursuers.

Veyrion cracked his neck and took a slow step forward.

“No more running,” he said, voice low and steady, “Let’s settle this. Now.”

Alex didn’t respond with words.

Instead, he smiled. A calm, focused, almost dangerous smile.

This was it.

Both sides stood their ground.

Four of the strongest entities in the realm now faced each other in the heart of the [Creators’ Domain], where everything had led.

Their powers surged, a storm of dark and divine aura clashing invisibly in the air.

And then, the world itself seemed to acknowledge what was about to unfold.

Ding!
