Awakened: Evolving to Godhood

Chapter 308 - Ring Of Darkness!

Elliot clicked his tongue to mock the fools that had just committed suicide, and then he used the unique effect of the emerald gauntlet that he was wearing on his left hand.

Each time he poured ten units of mana into it, it would release a gale of wind towards the fire, causing it to increase in size and surge towards the worms.

By using the fact that he could use the wind gales to not only direct the flames but also boost their capabilities, such as offense and range, Elliot wreaked havoc on the colonies of stone-like worms and annihilated nearly all of them in minutes. When he finished killing them all, the walls, floor, and roof of the tunnels seemed like they would melt apart. It was definitely not a good idea to remain here.

This time, there was no reward for his hard work.

The worms were all undead beings, and they didn't even have a life orb, so they lacked the essence of life. Their body was their only treasure, but Elliot had ferociously burned that too.

After dealing with them, he strode ahead and reached the other side of the passageway. It was also full of wyverns. He killed them all and stepped forward. After clearing areas 14, 13, and 12, he came across a pink wall with weird carvings. He couldn't read them, and he didn't understand them either. The only thing he did was trust in the capacity of his godly right eye of wisdom. It didn't betray him and lived up to his expectations.

He found out that the carving on the wall was actually a teleportation symbol that could teleport a person to area 10.

To active it, though, he needed four rings of darkness.

Where did he need to go to get them?

Elliot didn't know!

He started exploring all the remaining passageways. Most of them led to a dead end. He didn't dare cause destruction and make his own way as he feared that the place might cave in. It took thirty minutes before he stepped on the right path and reached area 11. In his sight, there were no monsters, only a vast wall that stood tall in front of him as if looking down at him. It stretched for 500 meters.

Before he could think that it was another dead end, the roars of beasts came from behind the wall.

"Found it!"

He raised his leg and kicked the wall with such force that the wall not only shattered outwards, but rocky sharpness also surged into the area behind it and stabbed into the flesh of the slumbering beasts whose snores had sounded like roars.

"Argh!" The beasts snapped open their eyes and cried out painfully and angrily. Their eyes, when looking at Elliot, the cause of their misery, were especially red and full of nefarious intent. They were looking down at him, treating him like mere prey.

He grinned back at them and looked at them in the same way as they were looking at him. All four of them had a collar with spikes around their neck. He looked at them once and realized that they were the rings of darkness. To get them, he needed to chop off the head of the four monsters in front of him. Three of them were ice-tailed foxes, and a thick layer of frost covered their flesh. The last one was a monster with horns jutting out of its mouth. It was black all over, and it had such thick and burly limbs that even Elliot's waist seemed three times thinner when compared to its limbs. It was an ogre that had sworn allegiance to everything unholy.

The foxes released a beastly roar that could blur the consciousness of an average Magic Grandmaster before pouncing towards him. Elliot, who didn't feel a thing, stood at his spot in silence. He didn't make a move until it looked like they would get it. The moment they reached too close to him, many golden chains came out of him, charged through the air, and tried to wrap around their bodies.

One of them stomped its limbs on the ground and pounced away from the chains. At the same time, Two of them fell prey to his sudden attack. The chains took hold of their limbs and immobilized them. They were cold and firm like the strongest of handcuffs, and it was impossible for them to escape them. And as soon as they wrapped around their necks, they started to tighten.

The two foxes struggled to escape, but in only two seconds, the chains tightened up so much that they cracked their necks and then ripped them off of their shoulders.

Seeing the death of two of its slaves, the ogre uttered an ear-wrenching roar and dashed towards Elliot.

Elliot didn't spare it a glance and merely turned towards the fox who had escaped his initial attacks

The last icy fox had escaped from Elliot's insidious attackā€¦ or so it thought!

The golden chains changed their trajectory and chased after it with a speed ten times faster than before. This time, it failed to escape, and they fastened around its tail and torso and yanked it towards the evil ogre that was rushing towards Elliot.

He did everything so quickly and unexpectedly that the fox didn't even recover from the initial shock of getting grabbed by his chains, and the ogre didn't have enough time to come to a halt, much less evade the fox or put up any sort of defense. The fox crashed on it with such great force that it started to wobble as if it was going to fall.

Elliot didn't miss this chance. He stomped his foot on the ground and blasted his body forward. In the blink of an eye, he reached next to the eyes of the 10-meter tall ogre.

As the ogre tried to regain its balance, Elliot raised his arm, pulled back his hand, and then suddenly, he threw his arm out and landed a solid slap on the ogre's face.

Bam!

Even though it tilted its head to avoid such a humiliating attack, the crisp sound that echoed throughout the area said otherwise; it said that Elliot's slap had landed on its face.

It was already wobbling, and the slap gave the push necessary to make it fall to the ground.

Bam!

It fell to the ground with the dazed fox on top of it.

On its face were Elliot's fingerprints!
